When I return the car I was told the company will assess if there was anything to pay or not. From a different source I was told that this type of damage would be around 300 Euro. So returning home to the US, I awaited the verdict. I got an almost $992 repair charged and it was not even for my car but a Porsche! I emailed, called several times over the next 4 weeks and the company barely responded. No refunds or further explanation were made about the exorbitant and wrong bill. Later the bill was corrected for my car for the same amount. It is notable that this company has been reviewed on tripadvisor that a number of customers were screwed with high bills over minor paint damage which they did not even cause. It is very concerning that this company issues wrong charges, wrong bills, parks cars in dangerous conditions and does not respond at all. Luckily I contacted konsument.at Verein fuer Konsumenten Information und Beratung and a very helpful Magister was writing a detailed legal letter to this company. Again the company did not respond initially, but with repeated effort they finally refunded 500 Euro after multiple interventions in almost a 4 months period. This company are simply con people. The prices are cheap but with their bandit style business operations the extract much more from customers who don't fight back. Avoid this company. After 30 years of using rental companies worldwide, this is the worst and gangster type ever!

I have rented a car with them for two days, had to take over the car in a very dark parking garage, the car had supposedly no damage. I drove the car to a parking lot in Styria and back without any interaction with a shoulder or parking lot or any place I could have caused damage. Upon return, they have invoiced me over 80 Euros for a "scratch in the wheel rim". This company is an example of the worst customer service, and for that reason I recommend you DO NOT USE their services. I will for sure NEVER EVER again spend a single Euro on them. Renting car from europcar in Vienna airport was the worst customer experience for me ever…read more The location of the parking lot is the most remote and dangerous at night. I had to walk with little kids miles in stormy weather trying not to get hit by passing cars. Other rentals are much closer and indoor. But the worst experience was when I got two speeding tickets for driving 15% above the speed limit. They don't work with e-mails, but send the payment by land mail that can easily get lost and takes over a month to arrive. So you miss the payment date and they are happy happy with that situation because they charge you 24 euro handling fee for each new letter, even if it's it belongs to the same fine. In my case I paid the fine on June 21, but on June 23 the Austrian authorities sent them additional mail, so they charged me that extra fee and refused to give it back. The child sits that thy offered looked disgusting and it's just the lowest quality rental company that just tries to find hidden ways to squeeze more money from the client.

Reputable car rental companies will provide daily cost/rate analysis for insurance. The agent smiled at me and even when I asked didn't show me. Sixt added a "fall special" insurance coverage in addition to the daily insurance cost. A single charge of almost 200 Euros. and for the nail in the coffin... the car was low on oil, they instructed me to fill it and would reimburse me for the cost. Guess what... they only paid the cost without covering the sales tax!! Such a POOR company that they have their customers put oil and don't even fully cover the expense. NEVER AGAIN!!! unless you love getting taken advantage of. Their marketing likes to be Punny, so if you want to experience the wicked car rental mark of the Beast - go with Sixt, Sixt, Sixt. After realizing how much I got ripped off, I had to pray and forgive this company. Later I rented a vehicle with Hertz and WOW I paid exactly what it said online when I reserved it, not a penny more! How simple and easy is that?

We had to provide another one and today I find out that the original one was actually charged. I lost so much time at this shop. The service was rude, slow and generally unpleasant. We got an 'upgrade' to a smaller but apparently 'better' car. 5 people in a small build model, no matter how 'luxurious', is still a bad upgrade. I'm waiting to see if I do not get further surprises, like the second card also charged. I would only recommend this shop if you enjoy losing your time and getting fake upgrades. I never write reviews but this was just too much to remain silent.
