This company can be very uncaring and heartless and the proof I have just proves it. I sent them one example of negligence in my case and one strong example of "Failure to Diagnose" that even led to the death of my wife. All they did is send me back a generic rejection letter with absolutely no explanation of why they wouldn't consider getting more information. Attorneys just don't care because if they did they would give a person the reason why they rejected them so they can learn from it for the next attorney they approach with their possible case. Attorneys only care if it's an easy case so their profit margin is higher, at least that's the only conclusion I can come to since not one attorney has given me a reason why they rejected me. Below is the "Failure to Diagnose" information that led to my wife's death I sent them and you people can be the judge and they're might even be people with a similar situation so they'll know ahead of time. My wife had a 5 month history of different infections and went into Banner Thunderbird hospital with CRP and Sed Rate extremely high which either another infection can cause that or things not related to an infection. The only early tests on my wife was a blood culture, tissue biopsy and bone biopsy which were negative but the infectious disease doctor was only "guessing" that it was the previous infection she had and didn't consider any other possibilities and just kept her on broad spectrum antibiotics. In 22 days they never found anything until it was too late and she died from septic shock. If that's not "failure to diagnose" then I don't know what is since Arizona recognizes "Failure to Diagnose" in a malpractice suit. THIS FIRM IS THE WORST! I retained David to represent me in a car accident. I was told by David they would handle everything after 18 months they bhave handle virtually nothing. They told me they would handle my medical bills. This was an outright lie. Approx 4 months ago I pulled my credit report only to discover that the bills they were supposedly handling were now in collections and ny credit score had dropped over 75 points because of this. It took Michelle Loretti (paralegal assigned to me by Shapiro law) over 6 months to get my x-rays from Banner Thunderbird. It then took her over 4 months to arrange for me to get an MRI. When I finally voiced my displeasure with how my case was being handled I was told by Heather Bushor "You are not our only case, if you want to go to another firm fine!" After having mishandled my case for the better part of a year to say something like that shows David Shapiro's lack of concern and lack professionalism. My association with David Shapiro has done nothing but waste 18 months of time, 75 points on my credit score, and he then had the audacity to send me a letter terminating our relationship and claiming I owe him $1300. I was misled on some fronts and outright lied to on others. I cannot stress enough how horrible, expensive and time consuming it was dealing with this lawyer has been. Do not hire this law practice. I was rear-ended, meaning legal liability was a given. I suffered major, permanent hand injury requiring long term casting and reconstructive surgery. I hired David Shapiro and had Heather Bushor as my Paralegal. I noticed Heather and I had the same conversations over and over and over. Rarely, if ever, did she follow up on our discussions of needed evidence, etc though she agreed to do so. Suddenly, she disappeared from the practice and was unreachable. The new paralegal had to start from zero, knew nothing about my case and did absolutely zero. Again, suddenly, Heather reappeared, stating she was now an attorney and was the attorney assigned to my case. By this time THREE YEARS had passed since my accident. Going into depositions, Heather Bush or insisted on calling me without appointment, while I was driving in the 101 or 202 rush hour, to talk in detail about the case. Coming into depositions she argued with me and created an unnecessary tension in my case with her misrepresentations and miscommunication. She provided me no case update letters or other documents for my case. I was poorly prepared and ill-defended in my deposition, while opposing counsel, someone Heather calls a "really nice guy" was a complete jerk to me. She allowed it. Every time we came up to deposition or trail dates, she'd ask me if I continued PT? I suffered a severely torn hand ligament and was prescribed a cast, immobility. This is the OPPOSITE of physical therapy. I had to run around and gather my own evidence because despite the years of discussions about where the mris and x-rays were and when, she never got them. The office staff did not know the difference between when an x-ray is diagnostic and when an mri is diagnostic, so they just didn't get the mri's. Fatal for any tissue injury. Heather has a products liability background which means, unless she represented the Certified Class, she has done little litigation. I know, because I've represented clients in Products Liability cases. She struggles to get her cases up and ready for trial and is very unpleasant to deal with as a result of this strain on her. All I can say is...do not take your case to this practice. In the end, I was offered $3,000 to settle my case and Heather had spent rampant in medical experts, double diagnostic exams, etc. Without ever even informing me of the costs of these choices, all of which I was responsible for covering. In short, Heather Bushor is a NIGHTMARE. She is incompetent and too friendly with opposing counsel while being negligent and aggressive towards clients. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRACTICE. read more
