I like this place, clean, polite staff, and quick is what I like. Dr Shannon very good dentist, my family and I been going to her for years.

The front staff, dental assistant and Dr. Yoon were all exceptional! Dr. Yoon was thorough during the process without any judgement. She explained the cost of everything and asked if had any questions multiple times. Catherine was my dental assistant and she was super gentle and sweet throughout the appointment. Diana (or Diane) at the front desk rocks! I will happily be back in 6 months. read more

If you want a dentist that does a great job and is straight to the point when she communicates, she's your gal. The staff is warm and fun. Scheduling an appointment is quick and the receptionist will call if there was a cancelation, if you need something earlier. read more

I can't say enough great things about this office. Deanna at the front desk is a rockstar and so friendly. The tech assistant Veronica is very personable and considerate during the entire consult/procedure. Dr Yoon is thorough, thoughtful and made sure my bite was comfortable after getting numerous cavities filled. I am so happy to have found this office and would recommend Dr Yoon to anyone that needs an honest and great dentist. They're truly such a lovely team. read more

Excellent service with Dr Yoon and her staff. I will add my mom and son to come to this dentist. Thank you!

I'm so excited! My partial (which was old), broke back in May. I thought I wouldn't be able to go to a Dentist until after Covid....but then I saw a few of my co workers had seen their dentists, so I decided to seek one out. I've always been afraid of dentists, proof was in the state of my mouth. Dr. Yoon is so sweet, yet professional. She is straight forward and knows her stuff! Doesn't beat around the bush. She has a great bedside manner. Her whole staff is wonderful! They are all so sweet and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Dr Shannon Yoon! I'm so happy with her work! read more

Shannon Yoon DDS - General Dentistry Near Me - Lomita, California

I've never bothered to leave a review on Yelp before, but my insurance recently switched me from West Coast Dental to this office & I've had two great visits so far. This small practice is clean, spacious, accommodating, and operates more efficiently than any dentist or doctor's office I've ever been to before. The receptionist, dental hygienist, and dentist herself are all very welcoming, kind, and considerate. read more

I'm so sorry this is the dentist my insurance referred me to. she was not that great she cleaned my teeth and left me writhing in pain and did not once ask me if I was okay. I will not be returning and will likely be reporting her to my insurance. I am not returning for my follow up appointment. Not friendly, not understanding of people who have sensitive gums. I floss everyday if not every other day but the way I was treated will not go unnoticed. Sorry again for the bad review but honestly; will never be returning. read more

I'm giving this place a one star review because I cannot give them zero. I've had two horrible experiences with this "Dentistry". Several months ago I went in for fillings and the dentist carelessly cut my tongue. Because I was numb I didn't feel it until the numbness wore off. However the dentist never informed me of the injury and let me leave without acknowledging it. I later had to be on antibiotics and take time off of work. I couldn't eat properly for over two weeks. With second incident the receptionist was EXTREMELY rude and uneducated as to how to handle personal information. She gave my personal account information to a relative and made them pay a bill that didn't pertain to them. EVEN THOUGH THE BILL HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID. She doesn't have any customer service skills and talks down to patients. They have no communication with their insurance carriers, making their patients suffer the consequences. So unless you want to be belittled and injured, don't go here. read more

Shannon Yoon is an awesome dentist! So thorough and efficient. Exactly what you need when it comes to fixing teeth! In addition, I recently had some work done, and no pain whatsoever. Also, I never feel like she's pushing the most expensive technique or product. It's never about her bottom line. It's always about what's best for the patient. read more

Been coming here for years. Shannon is awesome and will tell you what exactly needs to be done and doesn't try to upsell you like other dentists. Great experience everytime read more

Dental Chickens Listen up! Dr. Yoon and her amazing staff will treat you like family...no not like how your family behaves at the Thanksgiving table! Rather a "come on in and relax" feeling that you wouldn't get at any other dental office. I just had my final procedure done (a crown, filling and cleaning...yeah I know.) and I'm as good as new!!! All the major work has been dealt with in a timely manner and Im feeling great! If you are near the Lomita area or further away like me... Dr. Yoon's office should be the only choice for your dental needs! read more

Very responsible, conservative and caring approach for my husband and myself. I tend to have teeth problems, genetically. Dr. Yoon is right on top of any problem. We have been doing great with her for a few years already (my husband 10 years). We also like that she does the cleaning herself. Highly recommend. And I have been around the block on dentists! read more

My update? I never went back to this dentist. Sorry but personality and trust play a big role in my dentist choices. Dr. Yoon just didnt cut it. read more

She was a terrible dentist. She cleaned my teeth so fast and when she was flossing my teeth, she was hurting me.... very rough and fast. Then, she told me that I should change to PPO! When I was leaving the office, I was in my car, she was leaving as well. She was rushing to get me out because she had to go. Did not give a nice first impression. I was a new patient. read more

I went in for a cleaning some weeks ago and was told that I had three cavities, so the cleaning would wait until I had the cavities done (?). Okay; fine. Yesterday I went in to get the three cavities taken care of and Dr Yoon said I had four cavities (?). I reminded her that she'd told me there were three. She said that one was very small, so we wouldn't worry about it. Okay; fine. She didn't let me know when she'd be inserting the needle into my gums. At some point I felt some pain and groaned a bit. She didn't seem to notice; certainly she didn't react. Then on to the other side of my mouth. Again, no notice about the (this time extra-long) needle going into my gums. This one hurt quite a bit. I groaned and curled my legs up. Again, she seemed not to notice and did not react at all. Once the needle was out of my mouth, I said, "Wow. That hurt a lot." Utter silence. Seriously. Utter silence. I then said, "...and I guess no one cares about that." Another silence. Then Dr Yoon said, "The reason it hurt was because it's a long needle and it goes through several layers of tissue." (For the record, like most people, I do understand that a needle functions by piercing flesh, which is typically uncomfortable.) Then she was done talking. Once she was about halfway through drilling, she began asking every five minutes whether I was okay. I was fine, because by then my mouth was numb. I'm not sure how someone with such a lack of communication skills and/or empathy earned these rave reviews, but I'm certainly never going back, nor is my family. One last note: Her staff is the best of anyplace I've ever been. Too bad they work for an unfeeling robot. read more

Seems legit than some other dentist offices that I have been to. Reason for 2 stars. She wanted a copy of my full mouth xray. I didn't get it due to 2 reasons. I was up for xrays in 3 months from my HMO. My old dentist wanted $40 for it. I went to the office and her staff said she wouldn't see me without the xrays. I asked them to ask her since I have an appt and cleaning appt with her. She agreed to see me. She took single xrays, bite-wings. She told me I had one cavity and needed the porcelain. Then she said, she couldn't do my cleaning. It would have to be done when I get my cavity done. I have never had a cleaning after cavity work nor heard of such a thing. Anyways I set up an appt for January but the Holidays came and I am short on cash , so I can't do it till later. I called to cancel. Then I get a call on the day of my cancelled appt to tell me that I missed it. I called back and left message telling them that I canceled it previously. Office staff is not on top of it. read more

BE VERY CAREFUL. Below is what happened when I was talking to Deanna at the front desk making an appt. with the dentist, and I agree with D's review from 4 years ago(see his review below giving one star). -She laughed at me when I think she did not like my answer; I had to ask her what was so funny? -She cut me off many times; I felt insulting. -She sneered at me; I think she tried to make me feel bad. -She yelled at me over the phone, hurting my ears; I said why yelling at me, she said I was talking to somebody else. It was very loud, very uncomfortable to me. -I made an appointment even after all of the above(now I am thinking why did I do it?) -She told me later that there are other dentists I can go to; that was when I decided to cancel the appt. because I could not put up with her anymore. I give two stars because of the average of one for Deanna and three for the dentist since I do not know how good the dentist is. read more

This place is the absolute best. Ya hear me? THE BEST. I have had extreme dental anxiety since i was a very small child that has stayed with me through adulthood. when i came in for my appointment, i immediately felt a little more relaxed because of the lovely receptionist. my appointment went extremely well and PAINLESS. Now whenever i walk into my appointments, i feel like I'm meeting with some relatives (the good kind of relatives. whenever I'm waiting for the medicine to kick in, we always chat and joke around. Dr. Yoon always goes over what is going on with your teeth so you know exactly where and how the infection/problem needs to be fixed. the only complaint i would have is that its very pricy...but to me its completely worth it. no fear, tears, OR cavities? definitely :) read more

Great experience. My daughter and I both get nervous anytime when we have to go to the dentist. Everyone was so nice and made us feel like we had nothing to worry about. Definitely our new regular dentist. read more

Dr. Yoon and her staff are the best!! I live in LB and was referred to Dr. Yoon by a co-worrker. I have now been a patient of hers for years and the thought of ever having to change dentists freaks me out!! I've had everything from cleanings to a bridge done by Dr. Yoon and her work is impeccable!! She does refer out for root canals...but I actually respect her decision to have an endodontist do the root canal. I also love that fact that Dr. Yoon does cleanings herself...no hygienist! The receptionist Deanna is professional and polite (I had to tell her she didn't need to call me Ms. and to call me by first name) and Veronica, Dr. Yoon's assistant is the best...and is always super sweet when I'm feeling anxious. I especially love the fact that I can get emergency appts with her because she doesn't overbook!! read more

I have been to Dr. Yoon several times now: two cleanings and two replacement crowns. She is a very good dentist, and the staff is friendly and helpful. One of the traits I admire is she wastes no time with idle chit-chat;she gets right to her business and does a very nice, quality job. I recommend her without hesitation. read more

Told the Dr. And staff repeatedly my husband had anxiety about the dentist, they assured me they will take good care of him. Dr. Yoon had very poor people skills, and did not explain anything that was going on. As she was numbing my husband she didn't tell him there was a needle in his mouth and that he was about to be poked. They also said they have to schedule him for deep cleaning, but can only do one quadrant at a time (four appointments), I've never heard of a place that wouldn't clean your teeth because of cavities. They also offered no flouride treatment. After the procedure, I watched the staff cleaning the metal tools off with spray and a cotton swab (but they did not go to a sterilizing machine). Equipment seemed outdated. There are definitely better places out there to visit. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Yoon for many years. I love that her staff has not changed. This shows a lot about a business! They all work really well together. Always very professional with me and each other. Deana is very polite and friendly when I enter and leave. Beronica is a great assistant to the doctor and I feel like she helps my procedures to good smoothly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist that does great work with a staff that makes you feel comfortable! read more

The best dentist around. Friendly staff and professional. I have had some not so very good dentists in the past but I am very satisfied

My mom referred me to Dr. Yoon. I know a thing or two about customer service. I'm an eye doctor and I have about 150 reviews on me. Dr. Yoon and her staff are very nice (you know how it is, say something too nice, like extremely nice, and then her staff can only disappoint the next patient). But, I was very happy with the service. The wait wasn't too long. My own patients often have a long wait, so I'm the last one on earth that can complain about wait times. . . The work done was extremely efficient. That does mean if you don't know how to control your gag reflex, make sure you work out a signal with the staff so you can let them know when you need more suction. The pricing was very (again, very, not extremely, but VERY) fair. I felt I should pay more for the amount of work done (when's the last time you thought that at the dentists?) I have great vision (naturally, what do you expect from a lasik doctor?) but horrible teeth. Had horrible teeth my whole life. So, I know dentists. The good and bad (and greedy). Dr. Yoon initially told me that I needed a root canal and would refer me out. I told her, I'll take my chances, and at the worst, I'll have to go to the endodontist for my next visit. I told her I would take responsibility for it if the filling didn't take. There is a bit of uncertainty in any medical procedure and having done a ton of lasik cases, I'm very aware of that. So, I felt if my deep cavity turns into a root canal, that's life. But, I'm like a week out and everything feels great. Even if that tooth hurt, I would have written a great review for the professional attempt. So, I will refer her to anyone who asks. She'll be my family dentist as long as I'm in South Bay. Oh, and they only took local xrays of the area involved. MUCH APPRECIATED. The last place I went to, they proceeded to xray my whole mouth without asking my permission and when I expressed displeasure about it, the dentist at the other place gave me this analogy about it being as much radiation as you would get flying cross country. Of course, with xrays, that amount of radiation is being applied to a small area (your mouth) in a split second (as oppose to the time flying cross country 6 hours). Apples and oranges. Thanks Dr. Yoon! read more

Awesome, quick and easy. Had 3 visits in a month to deal with all my dental issues, never once waited more than maybe 3 minutes. Everyone is super nice. Even though it was super simple for her, she took 5 minutes to deal with something that had bothered me literally for most of my life. Didn't even charge me for it... and I just want to let her know that thanks to her I smile a lot more, which is a much better way to go through life. read more

Growing up I dreaded going to the dentist, literally scared to death to get my check ups! Since then I've grown up a lot and am now paying for it with major problems with my teeth! I have visited many dentist offices in the last year but finally found my home with D.D.S. Shannon S. Yoon! She is an amazing Dentist, she's kind very gentle and does amazing Dental work! Her assistant Beronica is also very kind and professional! An added plus is her secretary Diana, she is amazing and was so so helpful getting me started with my insurance and getting me in to see the Dentist as soon as possible!I believe they are the best around and strongly recommend their office! That's why I gave them 5 stars, I would give them 1000 but Yelp won't let me! An added plus is their office is unbelievably clean and in the time of Covid that alone is a #1 reason to choose them as your new Dentist! O read more

BEWARE!!!! If I could get this place no stars I would. Shannon Yoon is a Liar! I moved down to the area and needed a new dentist and figured I would giver her a shot. I hadn't been to a dentist in a few years and needed a cleaning. I went in and got X-rays and was then told that I had 7 CAVITIES, 7!!!!!!! I wanted to laugh because I knew instantly that she was lying. I figured I might have a few but there is no way I could have 7!!!!!! I did not set up another appointment, I was smart enough to tell her I wanted a second opinion. My father retired and finally got better insurance and I was able to go where my husband has gone his entire life. It was someone I knew I could trust. I went in they had to take more X-rays, did a really great cleaning and told me I only had 2 cavities. I could not believe it. Yoon told me I had 7. That would have been 5 unnecessary fillings in my teeth. Please, please, please don't go here or get a second opinion from a dentist you could trust but this dentist office is only out for money! read more

I have been going to Dr. Yoon for over 5 years. She has proven extremely competent, careful and honest over that time. I originally went to see her after being told I needed to have an extensive amount of work done on my teeth elsewhere. Dr. Yoon was very honest and told me that most of that was unnecessary and that the "problems" were more potential than actual, and could safely be observed. Time has proven her correct. She is very gentle and confident. She is quite serious - if you are looking for the chatty dentist who thinks they are a comedian, you won't find that here. She is generally quiet and is extremely professional, but provides me with a complete description of what she finds. She is very effective with the local anesthesia - I am a bit of a sissy when it comes to dental pain, and there has been none. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Yoon's care. read more

I'm one of those people who really hate going to the dentist. I really needed to do some dental work and I was recommended by a friend to see Dr. Yoon. Okay I had to YELP.... I actually read up on Dr Yoon and to be honest, after reading all the positive responses on Yelp, I decided that I would give her a chance. All my life I've had the fear of "The Dentist, Dr Yankempullum, The ToothFairy hater", etc... LOL My last Dentist just poked around and sent me off to some other place to get work done on my teeth. AT Dr Yoon's office they treat you like family and care for your well being... They called and scheduled a root canal "STAT" and was taken in that same day... I do recommend Dr Yoon and her Friendliest helpful Staff Dianna & Beronica. read more
