Though the summer-long hosepipe ban which is already in force for the southeast of England may put a slight dampener (no pun intended!) on things Woodcote Green Nurseries are located a road along with a few other horticultural centres. However, they are the biggest and have a few more strings to their bow apart from the garden centre At this of year, I like to add some seasonal vegetables just for the year and perhaps plant a new fruit bush or tree which will yield a bountiful harvest over many years. Sometimes, some herb plants may need replacing after a harsh winter though it wasn't too bad a winter this time I also love to browse their aquarium area though I've discovered through experience that my doctoring skills sadly don't extend to my finned friends, so I now confine myself to looking at the fishes! There's also a really good gift shop, outdoor furniture store,…read moresmall pet shop and a large cafe/ restaurant with seating indoors and out, plus beautiful views of the Sussex countryside. They have a free membership card that you can sign up for to collect points on purchases and be sent monthly newsletters including discount vouchers and advertising upcoming events. There are always plenty of extra and seasonal events and it is a really lovely place to meet friends or family to buy some beautiful plants and grab a bite to eat. It is very family friendly and always full of little ones. My only complaint is that when there is an offer on food or plants advertised in the newsletter it always seems to have run out long before the voucher expires, which has happened to me several times and can be quite frustrating. But I never come away empty handed and they have soya milk which always makes me happy!

Spent a lot of my precious time, as doctor who has a day off work and I filled out all the details and then came to arrange delivery and although it says this nowhere on website, they don't deliver to Hampshire and expected me to drive to them in Sussex. Even worse, they then said website faulty and they have none of the item that I had placed £100 worth in my trolley- a weedkiller. Wasted so much of my time- you were clapping me as a doctor in the NHS and now I am shat on!
