Took my Son on Sunday, 12/04/24. He wanted a bowl of Cheesy chips which was ordered along with adults food and drinks, A young blond girl served us and we sat down outside. When the food arrived my Son, who is far from greedy said there was not a lot of food, when I looked at the bowl of chips there was barely a third in it with some cheese thrown on carelessly. We waited a minute for the drinks to follow and when they didn't I went back in to enquire as to where they were. It was then I noticed the young blond girl who had served us now sitting at one of the tables on her lunch break with an overflowing bowl of chips! No guessing why my Son was left with scraps then! i have shopped here lots of times over the years. Prices are good and it's crammed with plants and bric a brac. On our last 2 visits we have been served by the same woman who is so rude that it's actually funny. She even has a sign by her till to warn customers not to abuse the staff ! You don't see that ofter but understand why now. If we do back, i"ll wait to be served by the other cashier. Who knew Basil Fawlty had a sister !? read more

Being one of the elderly population & shielding, what a delight to find a most helpful member of staff. I have 2 birthdays coming up & I know my friends would be very surprised to receive a present from me. Liz was so kind & helpful & was able to provide me with some garden vouchers which I am able to enclose with their birthday cards. Paying over the phone was not a problem, unlike other places who don't accept cards over the phone. She has also gone that little bit extra as she lives in the same village as I do,& will pop them to me personally in few days. What a marvellous example of customer service. Dove's Barn is a garden centre/Nursery on the main A264 from East Grinstead to Crawley in Felbridge, Surrey. It stocks a wide range of plants, bulbs, etc and a huge selection of pots. There are huge greenhouses so you can browse under cover if the weather is bad. There is always a huge selection of seasonal plants for instant colour, along with perennials, shrubs & climbers. They always heavily discount stock at the end of the season. They have an amazing selection of outdoor & indoor pots all year round at really good prices but in addition they regularly have discounted sales. they have now got a whole new range of water features.The staff are friendly and will always always help carry your purchases to the car. We have watched this nursery grow from a single greenhouse and every winter they make additions/improvements. It now outshines most of the Garden Centres in the area and the prices have remained the cheapest for miles. Discovered this NURSERY while out and about. What a great find!! As has been previously pointed..it is a nursery as opposed to a Garden Centre. I use Doves Barn a lot for plants and accessories. Its not your typical garden centre - in fact they made a point of telling me, on one of my first visits We're a nursery not a garden centre. There's no air conditioning or heating so dress for the prevailing conditions. Having said that the staff are really freindly and know their stuff. There is a great variety of plants from seedlings to pot-ready, shrubs and ready planted containers, all at very reasonable prices. There's an interesting selection of garden ornaments and great pots. Look out for their excellent sales too - some bargains to be had. Just don't expect the sanitised atmosphere of a Garden Centre. read more

mmm well i think it has gone down hill alot, the prices have gone up loads! some of the gifts etc are ridiculously overpriced!! i went to get summer bedding left with nothing, what a shame they are not reasonably priced read more
