While the repair guys were prompt, it seemed unnecessary to send two guys to do what amounted to some simple adjustments. I think they were here for less than an hour, we just got a bill for $188! $169 to just walk in the door, and .2 hours to actually complete the adjustment! That was $99, for 12 minutes of work! Tim D. replaced the existing operator, programmed the new remotes, reprogrammed my old remotes, and explained the warranty. He also offered to reprogram our two in-car openers as well. Buyer beware! I gave 2 stars only because our repair guy was so personable. We built our house in Lebanon area and it is less than 3 years old. Our garage door kept hanging up and so had to place a service call. A new part was installed and we were told it only had a one year warranty. The parts person I spoke to said this part should have lasted 10-15 years and he agreed with my thought that it was faulty. My verbalizing how unhappy I was did not result in any compensation on their end. I now have a $197 bill to pay. I used Shank Door as part of a custom garage build. They were highly recommended by my general contractor. I had them install a total of 8 garage doors as part of my garage project. They installed three 8 foot Haas doors replacing two 16' doors on my existing garage, three 9 foot Haas doors on the upper level of the new garage, and two 18' roll up doors on the lower level. They also installed six side mount garage door openers on the upper level with wifi controls. They configured/installed the tracks to be high rise, keeping the doors up close to the ceiling to give me the most room possible when the doors were open. Friendly staff, competitive price, honored our $75 off coupon. When we scheduled our installation they said they put very busy for the fall season and would get to it within three weeks, however at fifth week we called and only then did they schedule installation. Sorry . I realize Shank Door is revered in this area but I must say I had a bad experience with the service. I had a disagreement with them about a service call charge and I believe their service department took offense to my position as a customer. I did damage to my garage door. I contacted Shank and told them I need a new door and how fast could it be done. I also asked if a door could not be installed immediately and could they send someone out to at least get my door down since it was pushed in and stuck in the up position. They sent a guy out and that was muchly appreciated. The sales rep came out the next day and we committed to getting a door installed ,even though we hadn't chosen a make or model. We tried to contact the sales rep,who was unavailable and did not return our call. The next week we heard nothing from the sales rep so my wife and I went to Shank Door to finalize a deal for a door. With me I had a bill for a service call which we disagreed with. I had already committed to purchasing a door so therefor a service call should not have been warranted. Taking the old door away when installing a new door is included in the price of a purchase. So why the charge. We agreed to pay half of service call with protest. If we did not buy a door I would not have objected to the charge. About two weeks later the new door was scheduled for installation . The installer although he did nice work , neglected to install the old garage door opener . He was leaving and I happened to notice a piece of rope on the floor. I asked what was the rope attached to the door and he said customers like the rope to get the door up and down. I asked about the opener (operator) and he said he was not told to install even though its on the invoice. He installed but it was obvious he was unhappy since it was the end of the day. The saga continues involving their billing department making mistakes, They sent me a bill with finance charges even though the door and the service is paid in full. Also, their service department manager indicating that I was being untruthful in regards to a part removed from my old door.
