I had Overhead Doors install a garage door about a week ago. I was able to choose the door I wanted with the window that I liked. They said 6 to 8 weeks to make the doors. They called me in 6 weeks and we set up a date for install. The young man was on time, wore a mask and very pleasant. It took him about 5 hours ( I hope he took a break) and he cleaned up the bits and pieces when he was finished. He gave me instructional run through , I paid the bill and he was on his way. I LOVE MY New DOOR. It looks very nice it is so quiet. I can hardly hear when it is going up or down. I really like that I can go into the garage and the motion sensor turned the light on or I have day light to see if I have to work out there. I am very happy with the work and the product. So, having a garage is pretty awesome. Cars are protected from the elements and neighborhood baseballs/footballs/whatever. Problem is, they are used a few times every day coming in and out of the house and to work. My girlfriend went to work this morning, and the garage made a weird noise, but I thought nothing of it, as its also super windy today, and thought maybe something blew against the door. I went to run errands today and.... the door wouldn't open more than an inch or two. There was an Overhead Door sticker on the door, so I called them. The woman asked me what was wrong/what I noticed, and we decided it was probably the spring(just an FYI, if your spring is in two parts its broken), and she put me on hold and told me there was a guy in the area who was finishing up a job and then h'ed be over. I got a phone call about 20 minutes later, saying a guy would be at my location in 15 minutes. I met him outside, he gave me a price and I told him that would be fine. Fixed it in about 30 minutes or so, I paid and away he went. I noticed one review on here stating that he felt ripped off because he paid way more than the parts were . First of all, I googled the parts for my door, I know what it would cost. I then googled how to fix the spring. Every single site starts off with "this can be a very dangerous job, make sure you know what you're doing" , and in addition, there are some specific tools needed to fix the problem... so I really don't think the charge was too bad. read more

Unknown to me the torsion spring broke on my garage door overnight. I found it the next morning and I was not able to get the door open manually to get the car out. I called OH of Rdg. Answering service before they were open. There were two people ahead of me, but the job got done later the same day. They did a great job and I would use them again. read more

The process was quite long do to the support chain shortages, and the sales man explained this up front. They estimated 25 weeks, but the materials arrived early (about 20 weeks). They replaced 2 doors and 2 openers. The process was easy, the workers were. polite. professional and courteous. No mesh was left behind, came on time and finished up as they planned. I would rate this company as close as 100 of 100 as possible. Kudos to Bob and his excellent team. read more

Wonderful experience. Made an appointment on Monday and they were at my home on Tuesday, early. Josh was very knowledgeable and professional. He repaired several issues I was having with my garage door. It works beautifully for a fair price. I highly recommend this company read more

Had em out to fix my garage door spring. Dude was here for like 20 minutes. I looked up parts on line and they would have been under $30 shipped to my house. I'll allow for travel to my house and say 1 hour of charged time. What do you think that cost? 130? 140? 150? Don't I wish. Shame on me for not researching. read more

Asked for a repair on our garage door. Did not get a quote or recommendations. Just said they could fix it. I was preoccupied with family matters ( a very ill child) and didn't insist. Cost me nearly $400 for two springs. They charge a flat rate. I was completely shocked by the cost. I was trying to save my husband time so we could care for our daughter with cancer. I would not recommend this company for their outrageous pricing. read more

I just had a sliding grille gate installed by Overhead Door Company at my Smoke Shop in the Mall. I am very Satisfied by their service. First of all the staff is very friendly and professional. Very pleasant to deal with. They made sure all the paper work and insurance info was handed to my landlord before they came in. They came twice to do a location survey before installation. Returned all my calls on time and explained everything clearly. Came in for the job at the exact time promised. The job supervisor even called me an hour before showing up to confirm. They cleaned up after installation. They even trained me on the door functionality before leaving. Best yet, they beat the competitor's quote by $1000. Very satisfied on a job well and professionally done. I am a permanent customer. Thanks Overhead Door Of Reading. read more

When we built our house in 1970, Overhead Door Company of Reading was the lowest cost (of first importance at that time) installer. An accident damaged the bottom three panels of one door. I called John (not sure if he was manager at that time) and they dropped off the panels with no fuss and for a generous contractor price. It gave a horrible situation a bright side. Forty-five years later we added a four car garage. John sent me the brochures and even faxed a page from a manufacturers journal that he spotted, because we were looking for an all glass door for the back (south) side of the garage. The two front doors get praises, even from people we don't know. The rear door lets in enough light and heat that we overwinter plants in there with only a little supplemental heat. Recently we built a bucket truck garage. Ten foot doors are expensive; plus we wanted them to look residential, not commercial. I described the 'look' I was going for and they sent me another brochure. I emailed the commercial salesman but did not get an immediate response, so during the meantime I called another company (we're talking $2,000 for a commercial door); they advertised commercial doors but could not install a 10' x 10'. Home Depot also sold the type door we were looking for... but didn't install it. I'm 70 years old (why I bought the bucket truck); there is no way I was going to install an overhead door onto a 13' ceiling. I emailed John, got a quote, with an upgrade from the 1.5" Home Depot door, that was only $600 more. So quick, professional installation was under $400, for two people working a half day. They are still a bargain. read more

I couldn't have asked for a more amazing experience. The worker I had, (I apologize I don't remember his name) was professional and extremely polite. Thank you for the quick immediate response and somehow he made my new garage door look and work better than before. (It was replaced last year, so it's not because it was old it wasn't working well.) I would recommend this company to anyone looking for garage door repair or installation. Thank you so much!!! read more

Stopped in to pick up replacement weather seal for the bottom of my garage door. Was told that the manufacturer has discontinued the weather seal and that I needed to replace the entire metal channel at bottom of door and weather seal with new design. Luckily I did research before I stopped in and confirmed the weather seal I needed was available online. Came home and ordered the replacement seal from overheaddoorpartsonline.com. I always try to support local businesses when it's possible. However after this experience I will not be returning to overhead door company of reading pa. read more

I recently got a retractable awning from ODC. I called around to a few places and ODC was the only place that came to my house to look at where I wanted to hang it. Everyone else didn't even look at things to give me an estimate. I had an estimate in 24 hours. John patiently answered a few more questions and even dropped off and picked up at my house the fabric book because I changed my mind on fabric. They told me it would be three weeks and within three weeks it was installed. It is a very nice awning and high quality. Love that it was made locally by a company in Quakertown. I am very happy with ODC and have already recommended them to a neighbor. And did I mention that they had one of the best prices from the five places I got estimates from. read more
