I started the process online, I knew exactly what I wanted..down to year, miles, model. I looked around at several dealerships and #1 Cochran had the best price, biggest selection, and I knew their customer service couldn't be beat. I started the process online and ran my credit application so I didn't have to wait up at the dealership all day long with a toddler. Alan was super attentive to what I wanted, he got my requests down all the way from miles, model, color, and features. When it was time to actually buy the car we were there maybe two hours signing everything with the trade- in and new purchase. Highly recommend! Alan was great with communication, I loved that they text with simple questions and concerns.

Grossly Deceptive Practices…read more Beware of the despicable deceptive practices employed at this business. I called about a newly listed used car and was led to believe by the salesperson Clark that I was first in line. As the car's time of availability changed, he called me to let me know so that I wouldn't miss the opportunity, and so I adjusted my schedule accordingly. I arrived before the agreed upon time, met with Clark, got the carfax and inspection report to read while I waited for the car to be finished at the shop, or so Clark claimed was happening. About 45 minutes later, another person entered the showroom, was shown the car unbeknownst to me (I hadn't even been told it was ready), and was allowed to purchase it. Only after that was concluded, about 1 hr of waiting, did Clark tell me "I am sorry, but someone else has bought it." Clearly I was just brought in just as backup and deceived as to my prospects of getting the car. The entire time, Clark was apologizing for the delay and explaining it as the car being finished when in reality he was waiting for another buyer and stringing me along. Disgusting. Even worse, the manager washed his hands of Clark's actions, indicating that this was in fact a tactic they employ. I strongly advise avoiding this disreputable dealership.

We just recently took my husband's car there for an inspection and an oil change. We dropped the car off the night before and were able to pick it up the next day. Ok, so let's revisit my aversion to auto-related businesses. I have, over the years, been subjected…read moreto everything from condescension to outright lies when it comes to having repairs done on various cars. One dealer repair center- which was (ironically) run by a woman, continued to perform repair after unneeded repair, completely ignoring what I kept telling them was wrong with the car until finally the ex-hubs purchased the part I said it needed, slapped it on their counter and said "put this on the d*mn car." Just recently I was assured by the manager of Midas, while paying for my oil change, that my battery was surely going to conk out any second now and I'd be stranded somewhere, helpless. *eye roll* A bald-faced lie. I had it checked. (another review, another time.) So, when the engine light on my Honda came on, and stayed on, conveniently just before inspection time, I had it scanned at several local garages and was told it was the catalytic converter. Now, I saw the scans, and I know they showed that this was probably the problem. I was quoted anywhere from $700 to $1500 or more for the repair. In desperation, I called the place my brother, his fiance and my mom have been taking their cars for the past few years: Steve's Auto Center. It's out in Monongahela, so a pretty good hike from home, but they've been very happy so I thought it might be worth a call. When I explained the situation, Steve told me he'd check it, but he had *never* seen a catalytic converter that was actually bad; he said usually it was an oxygen sensor. But- bring it out and he'd take a look. Hopeful, I drove out to leave my car for him to work on the next day. It's a home-based business, so a little easy to miss without a gps, but there's a drop box for keys and payment, so your car is locked and secure until he gets to it. He called me the next day and carefully explained how he had tested the converter AND both oxygen sensors, and determined that it was in fact one of the sensors that had gone bad. He replaced it, test drove it for a while to make sure the light didn't come back on, and then put it through the PA emissions testing and it passed. Problem solved for a FRACTION of what I was afraid it was going to cost. Now, I don't think the other mechanics were trying to rip me off. (THIS time.) But what impressed me was that UNLIKE the others, Steve didn't immediately go for the obvious, expensive repair. He was willing to spend some time to thoroughly examine the problem and make the correct repair. If I had paid someone $1000 to replace the catalytic converter, that sensor would still be bad and I'd *still* have had to replace that as well! So, despite my husband grousing about driving "all the way out there," it was well worth the trip. I am a convert- a loyal, dedicated customer.

Upon arriving, I found that they had only one of these cars on the lot (they had just come out). The salesman told me that they had two more on the way, a white one, and a black one. I give a $500 deposit on the black one, and a week later my car arrived. As someone who used to sell cars, let me tell you that #1 Cochran is an honest dealership. Everything is 100% above board, no surprises, no tricks. In my case. I was purchasing a brand new model, one of the first ones made. In fact, the salesman later confirmed that I owned just the 2nd car of this type in Pittsburgh. Due to the demand, I was told that they could offer me a $500 "courtesy discount" but that was it. However, they offered me a $2,000 trade in allowance on a car that, in all honesty, was worth just $1,000. I am very pleased with the pricing and customer service offered by this dealership, and would be happy to recommend them to friends.
