Minus one star because they told us where to park and take the trolley, the thing is when we found the parking lot they sent us we had to walk two long blocks in the heat only to find that during that week the trolley wasn't running due to road repairs downtown so we had to walk back and we ventured into downtown and were lucky to find a place to park a couple of short blocks away from the Memorial. Trolley people should have notified them of the changes Other than that they are well informed and tried hard to make sure we got what we wanted

This is a great rest stop located just over six miles from the Texas-Oklahoma border. It has a dog…read morepark, a visitor information center, and plenty of space to stretch your legs. If you happened to miss the "Welcome to Oklahoma" sign at the border, this stop gives you a second and even better chance to snap a great photo with it. The restrooms were clean, and there are several nice spots for pictures. So far, it's easily one of the best rest stops we've visited. Overall, a pleasant and memorable stop!

We hiked through the entire North Prong Trail which totaled about 7 miles and it was truly gorgeous. There were some difficult moments at points, but nothing I couldn't do. The weather was nice, there was plenty of parking to head into the trails, and I had a great time. The Canyons are absolutely stunning and mesmerizing know this is hidden away in Texas. I visited here the first time for an ultra marathon event called Wild Canyon. After many years only…read morevisiting Palo Duro, it was about time. I had no idea Caprock had so much to offer. Probably the most well-known and important point is that they have a free roaming herd of bison in the park. That's right, Texans don't have to go all the way to Yellowstone just to try their luck of surviving petting a bison. But seriously, don't pet the fluffy cows. There's so much more here than just bison though. Plenty of bird watching opportunities, miles on miles of trails, and camping, to name a few. I camped here very comfortably, although there are plenty of noisy coyotes and nosy raccoons, so it's still a good idea to keep your food put away. The visitor center is very well done with friendly staff, clean restrooms, and plenty of souvenirs to choose from. This is the best place to start your visit so definitely come give this park a shot.
