It tasted more on the salmon side...definitely more rich than I remember this fish being before. At any rate, it was cooked to perfection, something that cannot be applauded enough. Fish is tough to cook, even for high brow establishments, so the fact that this pub cooked it perfectly is testament to the fact that you should eat here. Service was so-so but it was quite crowded. Pleasant, excellent food and conveniently located in town. Some nice trad musicians kept us entertained in the early evening. We didn't check the pub out later in the night, so I can't comment on the mood then, but I can vouch that they have a great kitchen and a decent pint.

The decor is classy and cozy, good vibes, excellent service, and outstanding food. We started with the Pumpkin Empanadas. The first bite of this literally caused our jaws to drop. Tears forming as the flavor took us on a ride to our most sweetest moments in time. Crispy, stuffed with gold, I could eat thousands of these. Next, the Mikey's Premier Burger. The patty was so moist that the crispy bun with it created a wonderful mouthfeel. I'm not even sure what sauce was on the burger but it completes it. This burger requires no extra work from you. It's packed with flavor. Of course it is accompanied with 3 time fried thick fries. You could break these open and see the heat coming out. It was very hard to let these cool before eating. Well, everything is cheap compared to the restaurant. The prices are typical for an Irish pub setting; 10-12 EUR per entrees and mains. The aformentioned goujons were 9.95 EUR with chips and a deceptively small yet amazingly tasty salad. There's not much seating but it's charming, despite being in the basement.

We were sat in this unique room that had zebras on the walls and just a very fun atmosphere. Our table ordered the seafood pie, prawns and crab claws, and a pot of tea. We had a long journey and were famished and food and a hot cup of tea were just what we wanted. Let me say the food was FANTASTIC. My meal was wonderful as was my friend's meal. What lacked was SERVICE. Our waitress took our order and we ordered tea for our beverages. I asked TWICE after ordering for the tea and it never came. She never checked on us to see how our meals were and never brought us the tea. The tables around us who ordered alcoholic beverages got their drinks immediately. Normally I would order a glass of wine with my meal but I was so tired as was just looking forward to a hot cup of tea. My friend had to go up to pay the bill and asked for boxes for our meals as again, our waitress never returned. I would definitely give this place a try for food again but there was no excuse for such poor service.
