Very pleasant experience. Friendly staff. The groomer in the back heard my cat meowing when I brought him in and was happy to see a cat arrive, which is always a good feeling that the groomer actually doesn't mind grooming cats, I know they can be a bit challenging at times. I previously had to call to cancel my appointment but the owner was extremely understanding and nice about it. I called Tuesday to reschedule and they could get me in the next day which was great. My cat had some mats and I needed desperately to get him cut. The cut was $70 and was ready to be picked up within 2 1/2 hours. I specifically requested to leave his whiskers and tail untrimmed and no bath, all of my requests were fulfilled! My boyfriend took his cats here about a month ago and their whiskers were trimmed and I definitely didn't want that. All around I'm satisfied. NO SHAMPOO FOR YOU said the Dog Groomer Nazi. My wife scheduled an appointment for today at 11 am. Generally, groomers ask you to drop off the dog and pick them up within a couple of hours. I was late, 16 minutes to be exact. My dog needed to go, so I preferred to take him out over having him have an accident at the groomer. When I arrived the guy said are you the 11 am appointment? I said yes, He then mumbled something and then asked me what day I wanted to be rescheduled. Did I say why? We give people 15 minutes it is now 16 minutes and we gave away your appointment. GAVE AWAY MY APPOINTMENT. This means he took the time to call email or text them. Since this was my first time there, he could have texted me, called me, etc. I explained to him that the groomers we have worked with would ask you to drop them off and they would then groom them. He was nasty, short, not nice, I could use a few more adjectives but you get the point. I did not reschedule with such a rude person. I am a New Yorker originally so I know and understand rude. This guy said he was the owner which means ,,, they are toast to me. I don't bad reviews lightly since I am a businessman and I understand the issue of lateness but, WE WERE NOT LATE FOR SURGERY, EVERY GROOMER HAD DOGS, HE WAS JUST BEING A JERK. We've taken our Maine coon here three times now for grooming and three stars is pretty much the perfect average. They specialize in dogs (hence the name) but are one of the few places around I can seem to get our cat in with no troubles almost any time. The first time I took her there, we wanted to shave her hair down pretty short for the summer. She gets really hot, and is much happier with it cut way back. We went for a lion cut and they did a great job. Everyone was so nice, and she was so happy after they were done. Price was reasonable, they were timely; great experience. The second time I had a good experience dropping her off, but when my wife picked her up she said the staff had been rude to her, and our poor cat was just terrified. She would barely move in her cage, and took hours to calm back down after we got her home. The cut was still good, at least. The third and most recent time, I had gotten a text from them saying they were under new ownership but with the same staff, and they offered a $10 off coupon to come back. We just wanted a hygienic or sanitary grooming for the cat, and a bath. She needed to be cleaned and they were the only ones who could get us in on short notice that weekend while we ran errands. Everyone was nice when we dropped her off, and they showed off some of their more unique dogs that people had brought in, much to my wife's delight. Our cat wasn't too scared when we got her back, and her cut was good, but my wife said she just didn't have as great of an experience with the staff. So in order of visits I would say 5 stars, 2 stars & 3-3.5 stars. I'd take our cat back, but I'd also call around first. read more

I've taken my dog here exclusively multiple times. The last two times we brought her in, the cut was WAY shorter than I had requested. There have been times they had to cut short because of matting fur, which I understood, but I have diligently brushed her with a dog comb, so that was not the case in these visits. After the last appointment, when my boyfriend picked her up, he was told that we need to train her to keep her head still during cuts, because it was difficult for the stylist? I had never been told this before, and I'm sorry but... you work with many, many dogs and I highly doubt you expect every client to train their dog to keep their head completely still? My dog is very well behaved but I thought that was a ridiculous request. We will be going somewhere else that can accommodate her. read more

This is the last time I will take my dog here. They are completely disorganized. They did not call me when my dog was ready and had her as the wrong dog in the system. When I dropped her off I specifically asked for her to be trimmed and for her face, ears and tail to be left longer. She is a labradoodle so this is a pretty standard look, not asking for anything unheard of. Instead they COMPLETELY shaved her down - I hardly even recognized her. I could have taken a trimmer and given her a better haircut than this $60 hack job. Additionally they did not trim her nails at all, leaving me to call another groomer just to get her nails trimmed. I took both of my dogs in to get their nails clipped yesterday afternoon after they hadn't had their nails done in a very long time. I expected it would not be a pleasant experience for anyone involved. Dog #1 is a crotchety old man who nips at everyone. I warned the groomer who greeted us that he usually requires a party hat. (read: a muzzle) Groomer said no problem. Groomer brought him back about 4 minutes later with short, stubby nails (perfect!) and said he didn't need a muzzle at all. Dog #2 is the sweetest, but a big scaredy cat about literally everything. She whined the entire time Dog #1 was in the back without her. She whined when the groomer and I exchanged dogs, but we both encouraged her and told her she would be fine. She was returned with short stubby nails in about 2 minutes. And then the groomer asked me how I'd like to pay. Well, what's my total? It was $20. $20!!!! For two dogs! I happily paid and we went on our way. Did I mention we walked in off the street with no appointment? Shampooch has my business, forever. Thank you so much for treating my dogs kindly and giving them great service. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I brought in a healthy, happy, calm dog at nine in the morning. Didn't hear from them until I CALLED them at 5:00. They said they were not done yet. That they took a break because the dog was "tired"???? When we picked her up at 6:00 pm-she was a wreck. Terrible cut-not finished and said to bring her back on Monday. The worst part is that when we got her home she couldn't stop trembling and could barely walk!!! If something happened to her while in their care-they need to be held accountable and own up. My last and final experience at Shampooch was awful. I have been going for years and seen the service and business decline. Several times they forgot to call me when my dog was ready. The place is a filthy smelly mess - disgusting and gross This past time my dog was supposed to be ready between 2-3 pm and he was ready after 5 ! Completely impacted my evening and then when I got there they couldn't find his leash and collar (which was typical) - took 3 people to find it after waiting 15 min. Awful. So disappointed. Very nice and friendly Staff! The owners were both their, and made my very large German Shepherd feel like he was at home. 3 different staff members all wanted to groom KING and it made me lol. You know they all love their jobs because they were all over him. it's good to be the KING! When I pick him up he was so fresh and so clean. And looking right. I've been taking my three Yorkshire Terriers to ShamPooch since they switched ownership from 4 Tails and a Paw. They have done a decent job (not great) on my Yorkies. They had a loyalty program SpotOn on my first visit, but last time I went in that has since disappeared. The first couple of times they could not figure out how to add the points and said would add, not to worry but never saw those points on my account. But to me this is secondary to good customer service and a good environment and good grooming. My last visit was the last straw. I made an appointment to bring two of my three in early in the morning. I was dismayed that when I arrived there were about five or six other owners waiting in line to be serviced. Math didn't add up to me with three groomers. So I asked, " how long will my dogs have to wait before being groomed?" Response was "oh, they go in right away." Well, four hours later I get a call they are done. I know it takes some time, but it seemed to me it was a meat market and I didn't see a lot of personal attention for the dogs. When I finally arrived after my call, they still weren't done. My girl Yorkie was getting her face finished being trimmed, and one groomer said to another "can you finish it, I'm busy." Sorry, but I want my dogs receiving the best personal treatment, it's not an assembly line. One of the groomers had her dog in a cage right out where all the other dogs were being groomed. Cage was covered so you could not see the dog, and all you could hear was the whimpering. I guess they provide free dog sitting for employees. The place wasn't very clean - not that I expect it to be immaculate with dogs but I expected a little more. So, it's time for me to find another groomer. I'm just glad my wife hasn't seen the place, she would kick me in the behind for letting her babies go there in the first place. read more

I am extremely disappointed in my experience. At first everyone was extremely nice and things seemed like they would go well. I was VERY specific as my dog, a white German Shepherd has some quirks. He was to get a shedding bath and brush. EASY. Hand dry..or if you use a dryer..hand dryer. I picked him up 4.5hours later and they brought him out BLEEDING. His muzzle nicked and swelling. I asked why and they said must have been a mole they hit while brushing. I immediately knew they lied and could also see clippers had been used to take his fur down. I specifically stated no clippers. Do not hurt my baby and Do not lie to me. Later inspection at home his mouth was bruised and had cut on tongue. My assumption is he was put in crate with blower on him and he was trying to get out. I am extremely unhappy. Beware who you take your fur babies to! read more

Everyone who worked here was nice, but I won't be back. It was extremely disorganized (they couldn't find my reservation or the one for the person before me). There was hair everywhere on the floor, and no one seemed to know what they were doing. I was told it would be about 3 hours to wash my dog and trim his nails. 4.5 hours later, I called to see if he was finished...he was JUST then done. When I came to pick him up, it took over 20 minutes to bring him out. While I was waiting, I saw one of the youngest girls there tell another girl that a specific dog was being an "a-hole." This isn't really the attitude you want from someone entrusted to care for your pet. It was not the most professional operation. read more

I have never taken my dog to be groomed professionally before but it had been a while since I'd trimmed him and I didn't want to attempt it since he had become a little matted. I had to stop and write this before I even left the parking lot because this place and all of the staff are so AWESOME! I rescued Quinn about a year and a half ago and she had been terribly abused. Naturally, she is very fearful of being touched by strangers. Having her nails clipped was nearly impossible in the past, but Donna and staff at Shampooch were amazingly patient with her. This place is awesome. I called a few weeks ago and brought my cat in to get groomed, to get her nails trimmed, and get a haircut. They got me in literally the same week whereas so many other places it was going to be a lot farther out and the prices were comparable if not better to the other places I called around in Columbus. They did a wonderful job on my Mrs. Cuddlesworth, and she looks great, but I think the most impressive thing about this place isn't their quality but just their friendliness. You leave this place feeling like you could actually be friends with the owners. I think it's a couple that owns it and runs the business, and they're super friendly and nice and just asks questions to get to know you as a person because knowing their customers seems important to them. I just dropped her off again and got her all good to go because I am moving and not sure I will find as great of a place in my new city in the next few months. Im not one to leave such poor review but I really care for the fur babies out there! So disappointed and disgusted with this place!!! They took the easy way out and shaved my baby all the way down because of his fur being matted. I feel like it being a professional groomer place-they should have taken another approach for his fur. Another thing I noticed was dried up blood on his nails which I particularly told them to watch out and be very careful with his paws. I called in to tell them about this and all he could say was "it is inevitable that we cut too short and they'll bleed-it happens everyday." And that they have A++ ratings...blah blah no apology whatsoever! I have taken my dog to other places and never will he have blood on his paws. Couldn't believe his answer it's like are your serious ...how would you like it if your nail beds were cut and were bleeding...umm yeah that would hurt!!! Also saw that they must have nicked him under his arms...few cuts...unbelievable..probably happened when they shaved him down. I've been taking my shih tzu to shampooch for a little over a year now and I have always been so pleased with everything they've done. My dog even gets excited when he realizes where we are. However, with this last visit, things didn't go as well. The hair around his eyes was so cut so close that there were razor burns there and the same with his belly. He came home and moped and had no energy or happiness like he usually does for about a day. Every other experience we've had there has been great, but this one time was just awful. It pains me to do this because I have been with them for 3 years but I picked my dog up yesterday and when I did he was trailing blood around the floor. I was the one to notice it and then I saw how short his nails were ! They were incredible short ! So short that I could see the bottom of his paw. I NEVER have had this happen to him before! I can understand if it was one nail but this was ALL of his nails. On top of that they hadn't fully finished grooming him either as his mustache wasn't touched and they shaved down one of his eyelashes too?! I was told it would only take a couple hours but it took 5-6 hours and when I called it seemed like they were in a rush and never got o him yet because suddenly he was done ...and it looked like they rushed it too. They did help me clean him up and give me some stuff to put on his nails but when I got back in my car he was licking ALL of his feet and It took another phone call to them to actually have them "comp" my next visit. (I was not looking for compensation i just wanted my dog ok). Then that night/am he is sick as all get up! I have never seen my dog this sick before. He is puking and having diahrea and waking me up to go outside ! I have never had him do this eve and he didn't eat anything differently. It makes me so sad but I will not be coming back to them after this. I am so livid at what happened and how they treated us too there , they said his nails were that short when he came in, NO they were not he came in mainly for his nails !! He is so sick now and so lethargic it is breaking my heart and I am furious at how they just rushed him like they forgot about him. We will be taking our business elsewhere and I will also unfortunately be referring my other friends elsewhere too. read more

After taking Shampooch to court, we won the lawsuit!! We settled for them to pay only half of the expenses owed. Shampooch was Court ordered to send a check to us BY March 20th. They claimed that they sent it in the mail 'last week', but we have YET to receive it. Shampooch again, proves their unreliability. read more
