The Marquee is a free newspaper magazine that you can get throughout much of Northern Colorado. I…read morehave not seen it turn up in Denver but maybe I am just looking in the wrong places. You can find it at businesses that carry other newspaper magazines that are free, like the Westword. The magazine is released monthly. The newspaper is based out of Boulder with a primary focus on the music scene of Northern Colorado... or perhaps the Front Range might be more accurate to say. They cover upcoming show information at certain venues all the way from Fort Collins to Denver. They have great write ups on bands and musicians that will be coming to the area and talk about a new album they are probably supporting since they are out on tour. The last one I read was about the band Ween as well as some other articles on local bands and what they were doing to help people who lost their homes to the devastating Fourmile Canyon Fire which happened this late summer. When I feel like I am not in the know with music I am always happy to get a hold of The Marquee... The Westword is also helpful too but I know I am good shape with this particular magazine. They have great coverage for when nationally known bands are coming to town and local bands. I really like that mix because it seems like other free music magazines are either too local in their concert listings or just cover the bigger acts to coming to town so I must praise them for having a fine mix of listings for both.

This week's print issue seemed to be chock full of cannabis advertisements. It's rather popular in Colorado. The newspaper has a "medical marijuana" critic who reviews local dispensaries. The front page was "Eat Here" which is a collection of "The 100 restaurants we can't live without" and if I was spending any more time in Denver than just this one night, I would be bookmarking the bejeebers out of them. Very interesting reading! [Review 18989 overall - 89 in Colorado - 2513 of 2022.]

With a strong German name like Vanderhoof, how could you not want to see what this designer had to…read moreoffer? Christ Vanderhoof's work and ideas are a lot more innovative and creative then most designers then I have ever worked with. The difference with Chris is that he is an amazing artist in general, hand drawing logos, and other art work for all sort of design needs. He created his own detailed and moving logo and made me an amazing logo for my VodCast that no standard or purchased font could ever stand up to. Chris looks to creative resources for ideas... He actually doesn't like it when you show him stuff you do or don't like, he rather would hear descriptions of words that describe the feeling of what you are trying to create or help other people create Chris is patient, but will put you in your place if he has to (or maybe that was just me and I really needed it). He reminds you not to get influenced by other people's opinions too much, and to remember follow your gut. He is professional and approachable, affordable, and wont stop working with you or for you until you are satisfied. Chris has tons of experience with branding and has obvious multi-cultural influences in his experience to help you come up with amazing, inventive and sexy graphics for all sorts of businesses and needs. * Star one is for a great last name that is hard to remember how to spell ** Watch him go star two is for incredible drawing skills *** How did you do that star three is for taking my idea and bringing it alive with design **** Don't Stop star four is for not giving up even when the idea and client gets picky and overwhelming ***** Wow, that is impressive star five is for a great website, with awesome examples of work
