Our room had twin beds (two travelers) and the linens were beautiful cutwork cotton, ironed, crisp, perfection. Lots of pillows to choose from. Nice size en suite bath with plenty of fluffy towels, and the furnishings in the room were eclectic antiques that were useful (desk, chair, cushioned window-seat) but not overcrowding. Beautiful view of tidal Dundrum Bay from our window, and a lovely coffee service in the room with chocolates, tea and coffee. A glass pitcher of water in the bathroom. So many nice, thoughful touches! Maureen makes a full, hot breakfast to your request, and it often includes homemade breads, fruit compote, and jams. She has a cat who hangs out in the breakfast room and the whole atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommend The Carriage House and I can only hope it doesn't become so poplar that next time I visit I won't have to book a year in advance!

Sure, you need good vision to see the sea, but it's there! We stayed 3 nights and added breakfast. Our check in was late, (thanks to a navigation re-route after a long day out), tho flawless. We were presenting a drink amenity and advised the bar was still open... nice touch. Our aromatherapy spray wasn't in the room. Not a huge deal, but I didn't bring any with me, since the room included it and we really liked the provided one on our last stay. The room was clean, well-appointed and spacious. Breakfast was plentiful. The croissants alone were worth the additional cost. I could have eaten them all day, every day. There is cereal, fruit, eggs, black & white pudding, ham (bacon), deli meats and cheeses, assorted breads & pastries, a gluten-free station and... did I mention the croissants? Check-out was painless. We owed a small additional amount for taxes. The gent working the desk called up to make sure we got breakfast pre-departure, when he found out we hadn't yet eaten and were flying out. On his insistence, we went up for breakfast before going to the airport. I owe him one. We would not have had time to eat. The lines were crazy. Those small touches make a huge difference and will keep us coming back. Another great stay.

The front desk manager went out of his way to make me a cup of coffee one morning as it was early and breakfast wasn't starting for a few hours. The restaurant on the 13th floor is a great breakfast venue and again the staff are very helpful- making a mocha or Americano or providing extra pancakes for my 8 year old. Rooms are big and clean and the showers are great. Anything I needed was attended to without delay. Well done and I will plan on staying here again on my next trip to Dundalk

The owners Martin and Miriam Mc Gowen did a fine job of making us feel at home. They provide a good hearty breakfast. The house is within walking distance to Carlingford. l noticed that many of the properties had security systems installed, so crime many be perceived as a problem though l saw no evidence of it whilst staying in the area.

It was, hands down, one of the best hotels I've stayed in, I can't recommend this place enough! - Staff were fantastic at every stage, from check in, to check out, room service staff to breakfast staff they were all friendly, helpful and really pleasant. - Room was pretty huge, bed was massive (I was in a different postcode to the hubby!!) it was clean, comfortable and they had extra bedding in the cupboard if we needed it. - AC unit was excellent, which is good when my radiator hubby can never get cool enough at night. - Shower was great, pressure was good (fussy hubby). - Room was quiet, we didn't hear a peep all night, which was surprising. - Room service was quick and hot (we only got a toastie and a pavlova like, so it wasn't a gourmet dinner, but it was tasty!) - Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, there's a cold all you can eat buffet part that would have fed you 'fo' days' and the hot part was delish! And Bellingham Castle was the chosen venue and boy it exceeded all expectations. I even got to stay here for one night and they had such a pleasant hospitality. We ended up getting the "Kevin" room, which had a balcony view of the garden and patches of greenery that stretched as far as the eye could see. The place was really peaceful and my New York State of mind was completely gone, although temporarily. I really felt like a little kid when I went on to explore the different rooms in the castle. The furnishings and designs are things you would expect to see in films. My favorite rooms were probably the Bottlery (wine room) and The Buttery (the kitchen). Their castle dog, Ri, was super adorable and roamed around as if he owns the place. Some castles can feel intimidating but this place felt very intimate and homey. If only I could live there forever....
