Dr. Miller and her staff, including Dr Doppenburg, have been kind and attentive with my dental care…read morethe entire time I've come here. I think it's been over 8 years since I began coming here. Through all of my different insurance plans and Invisalign I've never had better care. I have moved to South San Diego and still make the drive. Personally, I get uncomfortable at the dentist (which happens more often than you think) and the team here is always friendly, personable, comforting and care about meeting your needs. A special thank you to Dr. Dopenburg because every little fix from Invisalign to slight adjustments on my actual teeth, she has helped me achieve! I'm so happy and get compliments on my smile often!! It's super nice to be taken care of!

Unfortunately, the quality of the actual dental work has been disappointing. In the past, I had a small chip on my front tooth repaired, and the result was visibly crooked. While frustrating, I let it go. My most recent visit, however, was much more concerning. I had two fillings done, and after leaving the office I noticed irritation on my face near my mouth. Because I was still numb, I initially assumed it was related to the numbing injection. As the numbness wore off and over the next day, it became very clear that a layer of skin had been shaved or cut during the procedure. I had a noticeable facial abrasion for over a week, and now I'm left with a dark mark/scar near my mouth. What's most upsetting is that no one mentioned this to me at all--there was no acknowledgment or explanation that my face had been injured during the visit. This office usually calls to check in after dental work, but this time I received no follow-up call. That, combined with the lack of transparency, makes the situation feel even more troubling. I understand that mistakes can happen, but not being informed that my face was cut crosses a line. Because of this experience, I don't feel comfortable returning. It's hard to trust a provider when something like this happens and isn't addressed, especially when it results in a lasting facial mark--all from going in for routine fillings.

Dr. Bainer.....Talk about a Dream Team! In the dental…read moreprofession, I'd consider you and your team are IT ! Time to seek dental attention again, you say? Another doctor? A stranger because you're new to this area? Not only a doctor but a dentist doctor who's sure to cause pain ? AAUUGGHH! Go visit Dr. David Bainer, say friends ! So very reluctantly, I follow their advice ! I shuffle half-heartedly up to the front door of his office, not at all looking forward to what lies beyond. But then, I'm pleasantly surprised by the very welcoming receptionist, Lina. OK, I feel better already! Then comes Medical Assistant, "Bailey" who instantly charms and engages me about Dr. Bainer and what lies ahead today as she escorts me into the inner chamber. Clearly, Bailey loves her job and respects Dr. Bainer, settling most of my apprehensions. Next up is Dr. Bainer himself, and OMG, I was totally impressed by him, first as a gentleman, second as a knowledgeable and charming dentist who gave me the best medical experience I've encountered in 80 years of visiting doctors ! For me t'was a "red letter day!" Most notable about Dr. Bainer was his kindness and compassion, as exceptional as his obvious drive to deliver the highest possible standard of patient care. I left with a confidence that he would do his very best hereafter to help me and soon my wife, who dreads dentists with a passion! T'would be easy for critics to claim I'm over the top with praise here, but I exaggerate not! Everybody I met on the team was exceptional. Bottom line, Dr. Bainer will be our dentist for the remainder of our lives. Thank you ever so much Dr. Bainer, Bailey, Lina and other team members for such an experience. And may God richly bless YOU all as you press on giving your patients such superlative dental care! Yours sincerely, Bruce and Carole Page

Additionally, the staff are very friendly and Dr B goes over each thing with you. I recently switched from another dentist office that was terrible and it was even more eye opening than I could have imagined seeing leaking fillings (one that was JUST completed 3 months ago!!) and a crack in a tooth I didn't know I had. He was super positive throughout my first visit and it was a very welcoming environment!

I have now had 3 visits to North County Oral and Facial Surgery…read more My AMAZING oral surgeon was Dr. Soelberg. I am so grateful fate set me up with him. Germaine & the entire front and back office are equally amazing. I felt heard & supported. I felt understood and listened to. I felt empathy; I felt like I was having a genuine human interaction, which is getting rare these days. Absolutely everyone there was friendly AND professional! They completely humored me, put up with my bad jokes and nervous babbling & laughter; answered my questions and listened to my concerns. Germaine was the best! Super funny guy himself! I hate to say it, but he was my favorite. though everybody there was awesome. And let me tell you, Dr. Soelberg has a magic touch! I had 13 teeth extracted, 3 alveoplasty's with 3 sutures. And that was my second visit. I had an extraction a month before this and had zero pain afterwards. Then, I literally had almost zero pain at all 13 extraction sites. Now my jaw is another story. But that is normal & I'm grateful for the i uprofen. I'm not sure if it IS normal to have almost zero pain at the extraction sites, but I did not. I'm not even sure how that's possible. They truly have a magic touch. The facility is gorgeous, super clean, warm and inviting. I really just can't emphasize adequately how absolutely awesome Dr Soelberg & the staff are. They made an absolutely terrifying, life changing procedure, bearable. I am forever grateful and I would recommend them 100%! Big thanks to the entire staff at NCOFS!

My adult son, who has high-functioning autism, underwent surgery under general anesthesia earlier today. We arrived ten minutes prior to his scheduled appointment, and two female assistants were prompt in escorting him at the appointed time. When I requested to accompany him to the treatment room to help him feel more at ease, I was abruptly told by a male assistant, "Sorry, you can't." The tone and manner of this response felt dismissive and lacking in empathy, especially given my son's condition. This same assistant proceeded to review the discharge instructions with me in the lobby. I explained that, since my son was receiving general anesthesia and this was his first surgical procedure, I wished to be present in the recovery room to help ensure he remained calm upon waking. The assistant did not respond to my request, leaving me with the impression that my presence would be permitted. To my surprise, after a wait of less than forty minutes, I was informed that I needed to drive around to the back of the building to pick up my son. Upon arrival, I observed the male and female assistants helping him to walk. He was clearly disoriented and unsteady on his feet. I was deeply concerned that no wheelchair was used, especially considering the effects of anesthesia. Once he was seated in the car, I noticed blood pooling in his mouth. I brought this to the assistants' attention, and the male assistant promptly blamed my son for not biting down firmly on the gauze. This was an unfair and inaccurate assessment; the bleeding was significant and not due to any lack of compliance on my son's part. Nevertheless, they replaced the gauze before departing. I am extremely disappointed with the overall quality of care and communication we received. While the facility itself is aesthetically pleasing, the lack of compassion, accommodation, and post-operative follow-up has left me feeling disheartened. In contrast, when my daughter had her wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Alan Shelhamer, the experience was markedly different. Although her procedure was done under local anesthesia, she was observed for a significantly longer period following surgery. I was allowed to be with her in the recovery room, Dr. Shelhamer spoke with me personally afterward, and his assistant called later that day to check on her recovery. Not once today did I have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Soelberg, nor has anyone from the office followed up to check on my son's well-being. This lack of communication and care is troubling and warrants serious reflection.
