Let me tell you Dr Nichols is the best pediatrician out there. My son had a medical emergency last year where we called for an appointment while at the hospital. It was late and she took it upon her to see us. The entire office was already closed. She treated his symptoms and I couldn't be more thankful. She communicates with us and follow up with emails. Whenever we are there to see her she is never rushed And always tries to pinpoint and think of all possible causes. Her kindness and dedication to her patients is truly appreciated. He is now 17 and I actually fear of finding another doctor. I hope coastal pediatric will continue seeing him as long as they can after turning 18.

So sad, you would think they would err on the side of caution and be more u derstand one with moms and or parents who don't know what to expect as first time parents. We went to a different practice because the service fhere from both the vta office to the oxnard office was horrible. one office didn't know what the other was doing and had given wrong appt places or appts all together. The Manager called us and tried to make things better for us, but clearly that didn't translate to the dr's that work there.

Our family has been with Dr. Lowen for the past eight years, and I can't imagine a more thoughtful,…read morecompassionate, and thorough pediatrician. She has cared for our kids through every season of childhood, and every single visit feels personal and unrushed. She listens deeply, asks the right questions, and truly sees our kids. We always leave feeling understood, supported, and cared for. As parents, we feel incredibly fortunate to have her guiding their care. She balances medical expertise with warmth in a way that is rare and so appreciated. The only sad part is knowing that once they reach adulthood, they will have to move on to an adult practice. If we could keep her forever, we would! I recommend Dr. Lowen and Coastal Kids wholeheartedly to any family. She is, without exaggeration, the world's best pediatrician, and we're endlessly grateful for the impact she's had on our children's lives. The office staff is also top-notch! Everyone there is extremely friendly and exceptional at their jobs.

I had daily panic attacks and (unbeknownst to me) raging OCD. Dr. White ignored my concerns and medication questions. Instead, he told me to "just take a shot or two of vodka when you feel that way." Well, I was 20 and had enough sanity to know that was crazier than the panic attacks. Luckily, I aged out of his care soon after. It's been a few years and while it makes me laugh to think how absurd and unhealthy that recommendation was, I think it's important for other people to know who's hands their putting their kids in. Do not recommend.

While she knows a…read morefew words, it's far from enough to communicate effectively, especially in a medical setting. We sought her out initially because my partner does not speak English. During our visit we were hoping for an open and honest discussion about the expanding vaccine schedule for babies, but instead, we were met with judgment and accusations that we were simply "googling" misinformation. We were never completely opposed to vaccines, but as new parents with a newborn, we had legitimate concerns and wanted to explore all our options. These are medical treatments that expand over years, and cause babies discomfort and sometimes side effects. I don't think we were wrong in asking questions and having concerns. Instead of listening, the doctor condescended to us, recommended other pediatricians (whom she also criticized and laughed about, some were even her former colleagues), and told us she would not treat us as patients. Well, adios! This so called "bilingual" doctor actually made us more hesitant about the current vaccine schedule...she definitely won't be getting her vaccine bonus payouts from us! In our opinion, doctors should be open to conversation, give alternative options when necessary, and recognize that one size does not fit all with every patient. Had she been respectful and genuinely concerned for our baby's safety, we might have been more receptive, but her aggressive and condescending approach only made us more uncomfortable about the vaccine schedule. How does this protect the community, exactly? Something claimed she cared about during our appointment. The only positive aspect of the visit was her suggestion of a practice that would accept us as patients and work with us on a vaccine schedule that works for us and our family. Be gone inflexible authoritarian doctors. You're doing more harm than good.

I…read morewould explain my son's problems and ask for options and she would never provide them, almost dismissing my concerns altogether. I feel she was overly conservative to the point where she would not inform us of all options and even border negligence by refusing to prescribe at times, leaving my son in pain and discomfort. It's very frustrating when you are trying to advocate for your child and the provider doesn't listen or act like they care. During our final visit we were asked three times by three different people, including Dr. Sharma, if my child was going to get the flu shot that day. He already received the shot this year which is clearly in his records but none of the staff checked that and this was very concerning to me. While a second flu shot may not be a big deal it could've been something that was. After that, during this visit, she would not fully answer my questions regarding her recommendations and was rushing out, all contributing to my frustration. Subsequently she dropped us after this visit. I was admittedly frustrated and agitated but I never raised my voice or did anything that should constitute this. This is discouraging as it is another indicator of our poor health system. I'm really trying to keep this short-ish but spare yourselves and child's health by not going to Dr. Sharma.
