Wow, I was so impressed with Mercer Internal Medicine and Dr. Abdalla! I called in the middle of…read morecold and flu hysteria as a new patient, keeping my fingers crossed that they'd take me either today or tomorrow. Luckily, they were able to fit me in today (though Dr. Abdalla did say I got very lucky there because I guess that's not the norm). The front desk staff were pleasant, kind, and helpful and I only waited about 5 minutes after filling out my paperwork. The nurse who took me back was great. She was very nice and actually told me my information, rather than just writing it on the chart without saying anything (I hate when they do that). I waited maybe 5-10 minutes in the room before Dr. Abdalla came in. I loved her!! She had an excellent bedside manner. She was everything I would want a doctor to be. Warm, kind, interested, knowledgeable, thorough, and not in a rush. She actually apologized for talking too much as she was explaining some of the possible causes for my symptoms. In case you missed that, let me repeat it -- she was APOLOGIZING for taking her time and addressing my concerns! She asked me a lot of questions about the illness I went in for and also spent time going over a few other things that I had checked off on my paperwork as general complaints (which I was not expecting her to even look at today). SUCH a breath of fresh air after my last experience with another doctor at another practice. Dr. Abdalla was the exact opposite of the doctor who rushed me in and out of her office, didn't listen to my complaints, and made me feel bad for bringing up problems I was having. I am soooo excited to have found a great doctor in my area who I feel really comfortable with!

The receptionists at the front desk are rude. That's not a good first impression. The practice…read morechanged locations and merged with another practice in September 2017, but didn't bother to communicate that to me when I made my appt., only 2 months later. They should have sent out notices to all patients. When I called to ask where they were located in the new office park (after reading the sign on the door at the old location, and driving to the new location where none of the buildings are marked, and the practice was not added to the outside directory!) they were rude again. I told the doctor that and she said they were having a busy, stressful day because something happened. 1. I don't care. 2. That's not an excuse for being rude. Then the prescription that the doctor sent to my pharmacy electronically at 10 am never made it there by 2 pm. I called the doctor back and the woman I spoke to asked me about if I needed it today. I said, yes I do. She told me that the patient portal was slow. Again, I don't care. Just call in the prescription then. They finally called it in but never let me know. That's so rude! I had to call the pharmacy again to make sure it was there. I've gone to the old practice (2 doctors) only when I needed a prescription because it was close to work, and I usually got in and out quickly. Dr. Werbel is pleasant enough but I get the feeling it's all business. This new merged practice is around the corner from the old one so it's still convenient for me. After the unorganized mess I experienced today, I don't know if I'll go back.

Absolutely worst front office staff ever. I'm glad I can see Hollander in his Princeton office…read morewhere the front office staff is always polite and helpful.
