Stethoscopes are decidedly old school as doctors stare into laptops occasionally coming up for air to discuss symptoms and diagnoses with the enthusiasm of a metronome. The docs could just as well be holographic or stuck in the metaverse (for that matter, so could you.) "At the tone, please download your balz into the 3-D printer." You never forget for a moment that you're "on the clock." The good news is that procedures and testing that were once outsourced are now conducted in-house with most results available next day. Maybe there's something to be said for efficiency after all. Medicine's brave new world is alive and well here. I just might get used to it. Four 3-D stars.

Completely disgusting and appalled by what my wife experienced with Dr. Sass - please read about…read moreher experience with him: For those of you who are frustrated with the US healthcare system, and my fellow cancer fighting / mental illness fighting friends, this actually happened to me today. I've never felt so humiliated/angry/frustrated with a doctor. Since I have moved, I was trying to find a new primary care doctor nearby. Due to insurance issues (don't get me started on that), I need a new psychiatrist and meanwhile needed my psych meds refilled from a primary doc. My old primary doc in Philadelphia always did that with no issue. Also had a few minor health concerns I wanted to mention. I found a doc, set up an appointment for today. They said all new patients have to have a physical. I was fine with that. I had all of my medical records sent over from my primary doc in Philadelphia. I fasted from midnight as they requested in prep for the bloodwork. They took a urine sample, took 4 vials of blood (couldn't find a vein and poked me like 5 times), did an EKG, checked blood pressure. I filled out a load of paperwork. Then I waited. And waited. And waited to see the doctor. In a freezing cold room in a tiny hospital gown. About an hour later, he appears and tells me that he has a large practice and he can pick and choose patients, he doesn't have to take on new patients. He tells me he read through my "56 pages of medical records" and that I'm too "medically complicated" for him to take on as a new patient, due to my cancer history and my history of mental illness. He then goes even further by telling me he can't prescribe me any of my meds because I'm on "too many medications", and that taking me on as a patient would be too much of a legal risk for him. He said he didn't want to be held legally liable for prescribing me my meds or for taking me on as a patient. At this point, I was near tears. It felt like being rejected at a job interview! I asked him what he was going to do with my 4 vials of blood and urine sample and he said they will be discarding the samples and not running any of the lab tests. I'm ready to just go back to my doc in Philadelphia, it's worth the hour drive to me at this point. I wasted an entire morning on this appointment. Hours of my day, gone. Has anyone ever had such an experience of being rejected by a doctor for being too complicated/too much of a legal risk? I need to call tomorrow to make sure I'm not going to be billed for that useless appointment. The whole experience was so deflating.

Dr. Narula analyzed my current medications and prescribed a new mix and dosage that has miraculously reduced my blood pressure to normal for the first time in two decades. Based on the above success, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Priti Narula for successfully treating a life-threatening condition that has confounded multiple doctors in three cities for 20 years. I am sure she would have similar success with other medical issues and will rely on her whenever necessary.

For the second, I was given a treatment that was equivalent of a bandaid on a large wound, and it caused the problem to get worse because it was ignored even longer. For the third, I was simply dismissed without any examination and told I was too young to have the problem I explained. I recently visited the doctor's office for a physical examination with the nurse practitioner…read more About a day later, I received a call from a nurse informing me that I needed to repeat my blood tests in two weeks due to a high white blood cell count. She inquired whether I had been feeling unwell recently. I shared that I had experienced some side effects like coughing, vomiting, and spitting. I initially attributed to my medication and mentioned that the nurse practitioner had adjusted my prescription that very day. I may have been unwell. The nurse kindly offered to arrange a callback from the nurse practitioner, and I happily accepted. The nurse practitioner called me back, introducing herself with a "Hi, this is Nurse Practitioner Yvonne." I responded with a friendly greeting, asking how she was doing. "Fine," she replied, "but my nurse mentioned you were upset about your results. Let me explain she said." She then delved into the reasons behind my two-week wait to redo my labs. After what felt like an eternity of about five minutes, I finally had the opportunity to speak. I clarified, "I was never upset about the results; my concern is the delay. I work closely with many people and want to take precautions to prevent anyone else from getting sick." Her tone shifted, and she remarked sharply, "I checked your results, and you're fine. What kind of exams do you think should be done?" I suggested tests for common issues like flu or COVID, or even a virus panel--after all, I'm not a doctor. I then asked whether it would be possible to consult another physician. She firmly replied, "We don't do that here. Why do you need another doctor?" I expressed my worries about the unusual side effects I was experiencing, which didn't seem normal to me. In that moment, she retorted, "You can do what you want; I'm not continuing this conversation," and abruptly hung up. Moments later, she called back, asking if I wanted to review the rest of my physical results. At that point, my disappointment poured out. I conveyed how much I had admired her and believed I was getting genuine support for my treatment. "I've decided to seek another doctor," I told her, feeling the weight of my decision. With that, she hung up again. I still think to myself why wasn't I asked how I was feeling, or to come back in to run tests. Its so weird no one called me back to see what happiened and I get a letter saying not to go back there. Stay away from the nurse practitioner; see a doctor if you go here! She was very weird talking about how she is making everyone do a tetanus shot hmmmmm.
