I had a 90s theme birthday party for my 40th and from the very beginning knew I wanted a photobooth to recreate the Olan Mills craze of that era. I contacted numerous photographers and Heather seemed to get it right away! She suggested backgrounds and such to help me achieve just what I was looking for. Communication was great and price was just right! Everyone who used the photobooth had a blast and all the images came out absolutely great! I actually regret not keeping it for another hour as so many people missed it. My only gripe though was that Shadowcatcher was hired until 8pm, but about 10 til they had already packed up the bench and most of their stuff. I did get the link for all image downloads very quickly though and all the images are great. I would definitely consider hiring them again in the future. however I would just be aware of the contracted times and maybe add a bit of buffer. I assumed service until a certain time meant THROUGH that time, not completely wrapped up by then. read more

I had boudoir photos taken with Shadowcatcher before they had the separate Shadowcatcher Boudoir so I did my own hair and make up. My experience was a good one, and the photos turned out great! I thought the prices were reasonable, and the quality of the coffee table book I got for my husband is excellent! I would love to do this again and get the full Shadowcatcher Boudoir experience. Of course the photos were AMAZING and belong in a MAGAZINE and I want to print them all and use them as wallpaper all over my house (if that were allowed). Unfortunately, Our day was completely rushed and falling behind and they still kept up with the photos that were important to me. I cannot stress enough to make sure you know which SHOTS ARE A MUST.. so that Heather and Skip can make sure they capture it. I took my 2 year old son to get his birthday pictures done. They did such an amazing job! They are very good with kids and the pictures turned out incredible! They had different props and poses that were not difficult for my son, he had so much fun with the assistant and made him laugh the entire photo shoot. Heather Middleton is a real artist. We took our litter of 3 Dalmatian pups to Heather & Skip's studio in Escondido for a photo shoot before we sold the pups to good homes. They were patient with us (we were an hour late on account of traffic). They spent several hours with our rambunctious little puppies and they had all the props to manipulate and pose them just the way they needed to get the perfect images: each puppy separately; all together; playing; sleeping; the whole nine yards. THE PHOTOS WERE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. And their prices were reasonable and they were generous with us afterwards. I can't say enough positive things about these folks. read more

I met Heather at the Bridal Bazaar in 2010, and had been wanting to have a vintage pinup-style photo shoot with her ever since! I finally got my chance today, and I am so happy that I did!! She was friendly and EXTREMELY helpful! Heather helped me to pick the right outfits and accessorize appropriately. She was more than just a photographer - she was also a FABULOUS director for my photo shoot! She was incredibly supportive, patient and helpful with getting the right pose for the perfect shot. Her assistant was PHENOMENAL! She kept an eye on every little detail of the shot and made necessary adjustments to keep me looking great!
