I had been looking for a siding company for a while and was relieved to find a company that came highly recommended from a friend. I could tell from the first meeting I had with them that they were friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with, and their quote was thousands of dollars less than the other company I had talked to! We live hours away from their headquarters, but they had no problem traveling to us. If I had not known someone who had already used them, I might have been worried that it was too good to be true, but they delivered in every aspect. They were meticulous in their work, and their attention to detail was exceptional. We were so impressed with the siding, soffits, and fascia, that we decided to have them give us a quote for gutters as well, and we added that to the project. I have since found out that in addition to windows and siding, they have crews who can do any kind of construction work, and we plan to have them back to help us with the other projects on our house, including new windows, in the future. I would trust them with any job at this point, and I don't think anyone else can beat their prices. I recommend them to anyone looking at any construction job. The ones that did replied (some well known named companies) wanted an armed an a leg and only for 6 windows. But all those became irrelevant once we started working with True Value World window and siding. The owner was out there day one answering questions explaining all about the windows and giving us our quote. Profesional, friendly and knowledgeable. Their pricing blew the others out of the water! He presented us with options and we decided on the platinum windows which we are in love with. True Value World were extra quick to order the windows. We signed the contract for work, payed the down payment, they handle the city permit and within 2 weeks we were ready for install .. which took 1 day for 14 windows! They stand behind their work and commit to addressing all if any issues! The windows look amazing and with the lifetime warranty I feel sure of the decision to buy. He measured every room and used software to fix a price (I realize now that was for his benefit, not mine). He did such an unprofessional job! Used no painters tape (because" if you are pro you don't need to)" so there are no sharp lines between the ceiling and wall or the trim and the wall, or the wall and floor. There are many places where the white shows through the gray. He didn't label the doors he took down to put them back in the right door so one won't stay closed. He didn't prime the doors before painting them and once bumped the paint comes off in a thick strip. I could go on and on. The little money I might have saved is overshadowed by my daily regret.

Imagine hiring a contractor to improve your home, then discovering after the crew leaves that newly installed exterior doors cannot reliably lock, storm doors lack functioning handles or locks, and some entrances cannot be used normally. Now imagine realizing this while your child sleeps inside. Our project involved five exterior doors, four storm doors, James Hardie siding, and closing an exterior window. At one stage, three of four storm doors lacked essential operating hardware. We had to ask: Can we secure our home tonight? Could we use these doors during an emergency? Is our child safe? We could not postpone urgent corrections indefinitely while the owner blocked us, so on our own, we hired consultants to investigate the concerns and offer recommendations. The project was expected to be completed March 16-20, 2026, but remained unresolved months later. Hawkins continued demanding $9,577.20, which we disputed based on incomplete work, corrective costs, credits, reduced scope, and the undelivered door. Because of Hawkins lack of quality control in all aspects of its business, poor documentation and communication, and the countless risks associated with their unacceptable quality of workmanship, we hired consultants and other contractors, involved attorneys, disputed the balance, and completely lost trust & confidence. Don't make the same mistake no matter how "nice" the sales guy seems.
