I attended Thornton High School for all 4 years of high school…read more This school has amazing teachers. While attending Thornton, the teachers always offered amazing support and we're always there for the students. It was obvious that every one was there because they loved their job. Honestly, this applies to all the staff at Thornton. All of the counselor at THS were/are amazing at helping the students with everything from college to stress to social problems. The office staff is fun and incredibly helpful. Even the librarians are incredibly amazing. I attended THS while Principal Skrobela was/is in office and she is so amazing with the students and staff alike. This school has so much spirt too. It's hard to no get involved with something on campus. The food is pretty good too!! Many of the clubs use the food at the school as a part of thief club, so this school does offer some pretty good food. The community at THS is alike no other. This school is so diverse that students are able to learn more than just the syllabus, but everyone is faced with life. Everyone walks out of THS knowing how to deal with the community and the life ahead of them. Tons of clubs are offered at THS and there is something for everyone to do. It is super easy to get involved at this school and the community as a whole is incredibly supportive of everyone. In addition to all of this, the honors program offered at THS is this International Baccalaureate (IB) program. This is an amazing program that can help bump students ahead in life and can help students receive college credits. If a student doesn't want to go with the IB path, THS is also conveniently located right next to the Bollman Technical Center where students can take classes that are offered to help with real world applications (such as medical field classes, graphic design, movie production, car classes, etc). THS also has a great program for special needs. Many clubs and students are in programs to work and integrate everyone in the community. These programs are super fun and they definitely help to make everyone feel welcome. THS is just an amazing school and my high school couldn't have gone any better.

As a former employee I would not recommend this place and I'm writing this so other people think…read moreabout it before applying here. I was a ecta (Early Childhood Assistant) at Thornton and bright horizons (inside horizon high school) The staff act basically like teenagers, they lack of professionalism, hard to get in contact with coordinators to express concerns. They don't care about you, they just care about having people working and doing their job but not about how you feel or how the work environment is. I just quit last Friday, the classroom I was in had 18 kids some with special needs and bad behavioral issues. The teacher over there didn't want to take advise from anyone and just wanted to do her way and the classroom was a completely disaster it was impossible to do activities with them or circle time. Last year they had 4 classrooms open and they decided to close two, so they had the bright idea of put all 18 kids in each classroom and not enough staff. They only have 3 ects, no site director a bunch of subs and the "specialist" just stare at you and watch you struggle with the kids and just take notes and leave the room. The coordinators knew what was happening and did nothing about it, they kept enrolling kids knowing they didn't had enough staff to cover. It was a truly safety concern being in that classroom, kids had really bad behavior issues, I think if we didn't had a lot of kids or at lest enough help I wouldn't had left but since the coordinator didn't care at all I had to put myself first at left. When I let her know I was not coming back and they saw how bad it was they finally decided to do something about it. I'm just thankful nothing bad happened when I was there because I don't think those parents would have believed me if I tell them how bad that classroom was. If you are thinking about applying at this district specially preschoool just know coordinators and teachers love to gossip around, are not professional, are selfish and don't care about staff and the people that are there trying to help.

It's All About the People…read more I had a chance to visit Adams during the holiday break. Many of the employees volunteer their time to make Christmas extra special for the children. I was lucky enough to be Santa's helper. He came in on a firetruck and greeted all of the kids, much to their delight. Then, the kiddos had a chance to sit on Kris Kringle's lap. They got to tell ole Saint Nicholas what they wanted for Christmas while I took pictures. Thanks to the wonderful volunteer effort, parents got to have the pictures with Santa processed and printed before leaving. It was really a special time. Thank you to all of the Adams 12 employees who volunteer each year and bring smiles to little faces.

No need to hide identity. My name is Addikan Campbell. I attended this school back in 2017 during…read moremy sixth grade year. I was bullied hellaciously from the first day I stepped foot into that building, until the moment my parents took me out of it. I experienced verbal bullying as well as physical. I was called every name in the book, discriminated against for my skin color, view points, and where I come from (Texas). I was shoved, kicked, tripped, had my head shoved in my locker and had the door slammed against it. Kids took my food. They excluded me from activities and group projects. And the list goes on. For some context, the way this school gpes about the bullying problem is to have kids go into the office and write reports of what the other students did. I was in there anywhere from a few times a week to multiple times a day missing time in class to write report after report about the same students over and over and nothing ever got done. Eventually, after all the nonstop bullying and schoolwork I was getting behind in, I had enough. I defended myself from physical harm after being circled by a group of kids who bullied me. The kid in question, Cody, shoved me one last time and I tore into him like ugly on a spider. This event, regardless of the amount of reports I made about this kid along with others, and the reports from the student witnesses saying I defended myself, the school officer took my fingerprint and I was issued a court date at 12 years old. Even found guilty for defending myself from abuse. All while the admin did nothing about my bullying for the months that led up to that moment. Parents and students alike, I hope you see this review and steer far away from this dumpsterfire of a school and their worthless administration.
