I do not recommend Lucky Paws Luxury Pet Retreat in East Wenatchee…read more My partner and I boarded our cat with her for 7 days during the height of summer. She assured us our cat would have air conditioning in the small outbuilding she used for cats (however it was shut off when we arrived but she promised to make sure it stayed on while they were there) as well as regular visits from the owner and cage cleanings. Looking around the yard, it was covered in dog feces and we both had a funny feeling but we stupidly ignored it. We returned after our trip to find our cat as well as their bedding, soaked in urine with feces all over the floor, the AC completely shut off in the sweltering heat. In additon, food and litter were scattered across the bottom of the kennel (obviously it hadnt been cleaned, likely at all during her stay) and a traumatized cat. She also charged us more than we were quoted.

The exercise area is a shaded huge yard with lots of grass and it even has a fire hydrant. Pick up and drop off were very profesionally handled and every question answered. I was having surgery and the staff and owners were very understanding and helpful when my schedule needing to flex a bit. I recommend them and would trust them again unreservedly to take care of my buddy.

Anyone complaining about her not being open all the time was a very bad year or so for her as she lost her husband unexpectedly and had to work through her grieving process. Those of us that knew her and her husband just backed off a little and gave her the time she needed. She is a lovely lady and a friend now and she is doing well and very busy back to work. My dogs just love her and she does a fabulous job with them so for those of you that have left negative reviews please allow some Grace to others around you if you don't know their situation. Right after we got to the Vantage RV park where we were staying, my dog suffered a rectal prolapse (look it up because I really don't want to describe it here! Ack!). It was late on a Friday night so there were no vets open at the time. Being unfamiliar with the area, I searched for veterinarians the next morning and found Valley Veterinary Hospital in Ellensburg. They initially were booked up (it was a Saturday) but indicated they could do an after hours emergency appointment (which would've added $100-150 to our bill). They called me back within just a few minutes to say they had a cancelation and were able to get us in on a regular appointment. We got a little lost on the way there and missed our appointment time by about 15 minutes, but they were still able to see us. Although rectal prolapse is unusual, Dr. Rizor and his staff were able to fix it in the clinic, saving us potentially thousands of dollars on surgery. They were kind, professional, took very good care of my dog, and even stayed later than closing (without any additional charges) when my dog had a complication that required another procedure. Also, the cost was quite a bit lower than what we thought it might be, given all that they did. I would recommend Dr. Ben Rizor and his staff any day.

She had a bladder infection, so they told me to bring a urine sample. I had a devil of a time getting it, so they said they could take it from her bladder. The test results were no good because they had gone all the way through her bladder and into her bowel. Nothing else was done. She was almost 10 years old when I took her to my daughter's vet. Her heart was so enlarged that x-rays said it was cutting off her trachea and her esophagus. She could barely breathe. The vet referred us to Pullman. Long story short, a simple operation could have fixed her heart if we had caught it sooner. Meanwhile, her bladder was so infected that mats were floating in it. They gave her meds, which extended her life for about a year. She finally died of a kidney infection. All of this could have been prevented if anyone competent at that clinic had actually done anything besides shrugged their shoulders.

They are very thorough with their guidelines but it's only to protect your dogs from choking on small things such as toys or treats. My GSD was known to have behaviors such as fear aggression and separation anxiety but their staff made him feel very welcome. I brought him in muzzled the first time to meet the place as I feared he would bit the staff, however, they requested I didn't muzzle him on his first time staying. To my surprise, not only did he not bite any of the staff, but he would also let himself be pet by all the care takers and play with them. I'm truly thankful for these guys.
