Anyone looking to buy a new home or sell should go with Jeremy Gillman. I accepted a job offer in…read moreColumbus, OH and decided I would buy my first home. I was still living in southern California at the time but decided to get a jump start on the home search. I knew I wanted a condo and after doing some research, decided that downtown Columbus would be the spot for me. So, I Googled lofts/downtown/Columbus and up popped ColumbusLOFTS.com. I randomly selected Jeremy Gillman from the website (which is great, btw w/ tons of professional photos, etc) and I'm glad I did. Jeremy was professionally, kind, courteous and very knowledgeable about the Columbus housing market, particularly the downtown area. He asked me to email him my wish list and the next day, I received a tailored and detailed list of available condos/lofts that fit my criteria. I corresponded with Jeremy via phone and email about some of the listings and he was prompt in his reply if I left a message or was almost always readily available. I flew out to Columbus a week later, met up with Jeremy to look at lofts/condos. He took me to lunch, paid for my parking, truly treated me like a client. I eventually found the condo I wanted, but the seller didn't budge on the asking price. Jeremy was great in his execution of my directives in deal negotiations and offered his professional advice based on his experience. I moved on to my next condo and now I'm happily moved in. Jeremy was great in recommending lenders who he knew were good choices and even suggested furniture retailers, etc for me to go to furnish my new pad. I'm pretty demanding and particular in my wants and I have to say, Jeremy was patient, always even-keeled and even anticipated my needs. All-in-all, I have to say my experience with Jeremy Gillman was pretty great and I would definitely choose him/ColumbusLOFTS.com again if I decide to buy again in the future or sell.

But the…read morequality of living is pretty poor if you need to concentrate in your unit (it would be TERRIBLE place if you had plans for a home office) or if you enjoy peace and quiet and like to relax in the evening. Management just shrugs its shoulders about loud and disrespectful neighbors. They will tell you to--I'm quoting directly--"work these kinds of issues out amongst yourselves." So, overall, there is zero effort to enforce basic community standards and guidelines. If you do move here, you'll want multiple white noise machines and a brand of earplugs that you like. Maybe you will get lucky and not live next to gamers or frat boys or a family with screeching kids or dogs that bark their heads off...but there's quite a bit of all of the above going on in this building. Most people live as if they are living in detached structures with little regard for their neighbors. But it's really the fault of management; they could easily fine people for being noisy late at night. They don't care. I lived in many apartments for decades in NYC, LA, among other places. I thought I had a high tolerance for noise. But I probably should have taken other reviewer comments more seriously. Here are some choice quotes from previous reviews: "Walls do nothing to block noise from neighboring apartments." "paper thins walls" "veeeeery echo-y" "Yes, the walls are super thin. When my neighbors go to sleep at night, I can hear them debrief about their days through the vent." "the walls don't block much...So take your luck on that one and just pray that you do not get stuck next to someone that has a sound system at all." "At first glance, Sixty Spring is a really cool minimalistic space to live. However, after moving in you will quickly discover that there are no walls separating you from your neighbors. You can literally hear your neighbors speaking at a normal volume, you can hear people peeing, having sex, and just about anything else you can imagine. The company (Cityspace Residential / JDS Companies) refuses to acknowledge the issue." "If the builder would have spend $ on sound proofing, I wouldn't be sleeping with ear plugs at night. 1.5 inch of concrete flooring between units is rediculous ! cheap cheap as I can hear the guy above me pissing in the bowl, flushing, then dropping the toilet seat.. If you're not a smoker and your neighbor smokes, you soon will be breathing cig. smoke. NO insulation between walls." "you will get to know your neighbors *very* well"

Well, it took me like a month (and a lot of phone calls) to get internet (my apartment hadn't been wired for internet and they told me there was internet upon move in and when I asked where the port was. I looked for the port for a solid week), and they never cleaned the windows like they said they would (with with windows going to the second floor you can't clean them yourself). Occasionally the gate doesn't lock. The bedrooms (and closets) in my apartment don't have doors, which is also a bit strange (certainly not roommate friendly). The glazed cement floor looks perpetually dirty. But all in all, a good experience. These were all relatively minor issues. I haven't had any issues with noise. I can sometimes hear the dog upstairs and the occasional yelling. But these have far been the exception in my experience. My electricity bill has been reasonable. I have a 2 bedroom/2 bath. For the months of June and July my electricity was $50, and $80 respectively, and I had the AC blasting. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about when they said they had a $300 electric bill. Due to the structure of the building, my apartment stayed at like 70 degrees, despite turning the AC down/up to 75. I have had to put in two requests for things to be fixed, and both issues were fixed promptly and without issue. Well, three requests counting the internet issue. The quality of the fixtures is average to slightly above average. The dishwasher is a bit small, but cleans well. There is a lack of storage space in the bathrooms, and minimal kitchen cabinets. The amount of lighting is non existent in the two bedrooms. But these are relativity fixable problems. The courtyard is very pretty, and I haven't noticed any issues with dogs going to the bathroom around the building. The showers are also great. Overall, I would recommend this building if you like the industrial aesthetic.

There were some fixes needed during our stay. The management and maintenance team responded to our requests in a very timely manner. For example, There were two ceiling fans that makes weird squeaking noises in the house. After we reported the issue they immediately contacted the property owner and brought two brand new fans for installation. No hassle, no extra charge, no back and forth arguments. We are very glad that we chose this company instead of renting from a private landlord. I think they are very professional and have a high quality of customer service.

The house was advertised to be noise-proof but I can hear the neighbor's conversations. Not to mention the sounds of their dog walking around the house. It's not the neighbor's fault-- they are just living their lives. But wow, I have lived under at least 5 different housing management teams before and it has never been this bad. Maintenance requests do not get done until couple months later, and even if they come over to fix the said problem, I can't tell that it was properly fixed. I honestly can not WAIT until I can move out of this house. EDIT: Bijan (the landlord) and I had a conversation. We came to the consensus that there was quite a bit of miscommunication on both sides of the party. Bijan definitely cares about the tenants' well-being. Once a distinct & straight-forward maintenance system is placed, I have no problems with this management company.

The maintenance staff respond very quickly and are very thoughtful. The front office staff are also very friendly and accommodating. The only drawback is you don't have access to your packages after office hours but at the same time, your packages are safe. The gym is also very accommodating as well. In terms of parking? Executive Parking is more expensive than standard but I assure you it's well worth it when it comes to the wintertime as well as events at the arena. That section of the garage was never at capacity. The neighborhood vibe is a perfect mix of fast-paced action and entertainment on some nights as well as very quiet and relaxing on nights where there are no events in the area. Although I'm very happy I made the transition to homeownership, part of me was also very sad to be leaving the community. I would give this review more than 5 stars if I could.

Mangement just says to call security to complain which we did to no avail, but still hear our upstairs neighbors every single night while trying to sleep.
