New Hope is a quaint, historic town on the Delaware River, located approximately halfway between Philadelphia and New York City, featuring art galleries, a range of casual and upscale dining choices, eclectic shopping boutiques, and the Bucks County Playhouse that attracts talent from Broadway and Hollywood. The charming hamlet is often called one of America's most haunted towns with a history dating back to the American Revolution when Aaron Burr allegedly fled to New Hope after dueling with Alexander Hamilton (and some say never left..). Ghost Tours of New Hope offers one-hour walking tours every Saturday night at 8pm from June through November and Friday nights starting in mid-September through Halloween. Tickets are $12 (as of October 2025) and may be purchased in-person from the tour operators with cash or Venmo approximately 30-60 minutes before the start of the tour. There is one route that runs along Ferry Street and one route that runs along Mechanic Street and the Delaware Canal Towpath. Both walking tours begin adjacent to the Parry Mansion Museum and the historic cannon on the corner of Ferry Street and Main Street. Wear comfortable shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing a flashlight as the sidewalks and streets of New Hope can be very uneven. New Hope has some of the most haunted sightings and buildings in a 2 square block and in the country. ( The tours are every Saturday night from the first Saturday in June up to and including the Saturday before Thanksgiving. In the month of "October only" you can also find tours on a Friday night besides the usual Saturday night. The tours start at 8p and meet on the corner of Main and Ferry Street next to the Parry Mansion Museum. You don't need a reservation. I just walked up and there were two ladies taking money and giving out a paid sticker. Then you just line up with the rest of the tour people. PLEASE BRING CASH! They will also do private tours with advanced notice. My group had over 30 people in it. I suggest getting there at least 30-40 minutes before. The cost is $12. The tour itself is about an hour. Make sure you wear a sturdy pair of shoes. You will be walking down stairs and on dirt paths, and near a canal. These tours have been going on for over 42 years. New Hope has such a fun vibe. Everyone was excited for this tour. Parking in New Hope is a bit tricky. If you can't find street parking, I suggest parking a few blocks away in one of several lots. You will do a lot of walking in New Hope. The Staff was all very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Thinking about it gives me nostalgia for the late summer. You pay an entrance fee (I forget the exact amount, somewhere between $10-$15) but it includes all the rides and some games. This is great if you are taking kids, so you won't have to worry about tickets, tokens or any other methods of payment. The food is phenomenal for being festival food (but then again I love Polish food). For fair prices you can get potato pancakes, pierogies and imported beer. They have musicians and dancing for entertainment, though I suggest if you're interested in that kind of thing going later on, since that's when the bulk of it happens. Overall this is a fun event and worth checking out.

The sidewalks of State Street and Court Street are lined with tables with both local merchants, farmers and craftsmen displaying and selling their wares to people from the surrounding area. It is a giant festival honoring the social)cultural history of our historic community. Today, with perfect weather and temperature in the low 70s, several thousand people from as far away as New York and Baltimore, strolled the pre-Revolutionary streets, sampling the excellent food of our restaurants, and purchasing the products of our local skilled crafts people. Too, one month from the General Election, candidates handed out literature, lawn signs, stickers, buttons and balloons, trying to motivate residents to come out and vote for them. It remains to be seen whether they will be successful, but it was obvious today that Market Day was a smashing win for the community. Be sure to put it on your calendar for next Autumn!

Snipe's Farm is a 200 year old family owned farm in Bucks County surrounded by 150 year old trees on acres and acres of bucolic pasture. When inside you would never know you're just a stones throw from I95 and Route 1! Here's a few reasons why Snipes is so awesome- -Their shows are reasonably priced with early bird online specials. They use Ticket Leap as they have the lowest fees of any ticket distributor. You can pay cash at the gate for a few more dollars day of show. -They're BYO!! Say what?!! The just ask that you not bring glass. We usually get margarita in a bag and bring cups. Many bring rolling coolers and keep their glass in the coolers and just pour into cups as needed. You may NOT walk around with glass beer bottles. -You can BYO food too! -All shows are general admission. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, inflatable furniture, even pop up canopies. They do have two large tents for shade already set up on the lawn area. These seats obviously go first. -Children under 12 are FREE with paid adult! IF they do charge for a child for certain events, it's just $5 -Parking is just $5! They strongly encourage carpooling. -The staff is so chill. Very cool older hippies. All very nice. They don't patrol, but won't tolerate any behavior that makes their events not family-friendly. -They have both food and shopping vendors. -The farm is also home to animals and a dog daycare. You would never know this as the concert area does not smell like you're on a farm. They also offer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares and offer show discounts to those signed up for them. Apparently they have the best free range eggs here. Snipe's also host many class trips throughout the year as well as a farm based summer camp you can pay weekly for. We personally LOVE their annual Grateful Dead music Festival called "In & Out Of The Garden We Go"! We have attended for years now and it's something we look forward to every June with our family to kick off the summer festival season. I've been to many, many festivals in my day and this is a truly a great one! It's so incredibly family-friendly. Our girls love it just as much as we do. There are tons of kids of all ages running around barefoot, dancing, playing with balls, hula hoops, and a bubbles. This year we brought beads for the kids, ours and the friend they made to make bracelets. The staff gave out show tee shirts and candy to all the kiddos! The lineup is all terrific local cover bands acts and the music is non-stop. They have a smaller side stage and larger stage next to it. There's no set breaks or dead time for set up or breakdown. The next band is ready to go immediately when the prior band finishes. Oh, and the sound is fantastic! The lights at night are fun too! They have great local vendors selling all sorts of hippie wares from patches and stickers, hand lured soy candles, tie dyes of course, up-cycled goods too. This year they even had someone doing live paintings and selling goods made from recycled Christmas Trees. The food vendors are delicious and often vegan and vegetarian foods although you can certainly bring your own snacks and meals. This specific festival is all weekend long and you can camp right there! People have views of the stage right from their tent or trailer! Very cool! The music will play from 11am-1am the next night (day) non-stop! You really get your money's worth! This year Saturday started with community yoga!! Tickets can be either Fri night, all day Saturday, or a weekend pass which includes camping. We have never camped yet as our schedule just hasn't allowed it but we stay all day Saturday and it's wonderful This festival gives me a sense of what life would be like on a hippie commune back in the 60's. It's so freeing and there's such a great, warm atmosphere. The people are a great crowd. Everyone just gets it. It's such a nice change from the price gouging and big named venues nowadays. There are different packages to choose from, and several different styles of planes and gliders that you can rent. If you have that special someone, and your looking for an unusual gift Van Sant Airport plane rides make a wonderful gift. You can also come here bring some chairs and hangout for the day, and have a picnic. It's hard to believe Van Sant Airport is only about 50 miles due north of central Philadelphia and about 70 miles southwest of lower Manhattan. It's nestled away in Bucks county PA. It's owned by the Bucks county Airport Authority. This place is quaint, and you can walk around and see the planes and take pictures. I was taken back to see they had a real phone booth up against the building, and some old timers hanging around. I felt like I was taken back in time to 30 years ago. There is a small gift shop and this is where you can arrange for flights. They welcome motorcycle riders, and anyone who's looking to grab a piece of nostalgia. The people who work here are very friendly, and knowledgeable. It was too late in the day for myself and friends to go for a plane ride. Next time we will come earlier and plan on doing that.

The handmade Christmas ornaments and cookies for sale, charming touch!! So this is a local twist on the Charles Dickens classic. I really enjoyed the chance to see this because I missed it last year. I loved all the songs and watching these dreamers manifest, righteous jollies tribute to Levittown. It made me very happy to be there to catch it this season. No rides for the kids, but what do you want for free? Fair Warning: If you're expecting rain, the fair might open but you might want to park elsewhere. The parking lot tends to get muddy and at least one year many cars got stuck deep in the mud.

This annual event, always on a W-Th-F in mid-August, is an area tradition. Unlike other county…read morefairs, there's never a charge to get in or park. The food tent is 100% local non-profits (fire departments, churches, Boy Scouts, etc.), so you know the "profit" is going to a good cause. A not-insignificant chunk of the food revenue goes to the 4-H and helps fund this very expensive event. There are no rides, but you can visit politicians at various tents and stands. The emphases are agriculture and education. You'll see cows, chickens, goats, cats, dogs, horses, and a host of other critters. There are also bands and stuff for the kids like operating a back-hoe (really); the Children's Museum exhibit; model trains, cars, and planes; the Rutgers Extension service; clubs; etc. There are commercial displays for mulch, basement waterproofing, etc., but you don't feel like it's a hard-sell trade show by any stretch. If the weather is dry, there is some parking at the site, though parking at Raritan Valley Community College (a few miles away, but with free bus shuttles) is recommended. If it rains, they quickly curtail or close on-site parking and it may take longer for the shuttle service (which is now air-conditioned buses!). The smart move is to take off a day from work if you can, and spend a few hours. Evenings are far more crowded, in addition to dealing with rush-hour traffic in general. FULL DISCLOSURE: My church operates a stand under the gigantic food tent, and I spend a lot of time there volunteering.
