There's also a discovery den AKA play area indoors for $1. There's animals/insects outdoors such as turkey vultures, turtles, a butterfly house and a bird observatory (cute on the inside with toys for the kiddos - be sure to read the story about the couple who opened the center). And a natural playscape outdoors. There's also a bunch of fairy houses throughout the property that girl scouts donated. And lots of trails through the forest. They also have Magic Mornings for ages 2-4 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - but register ahead as they only have a certain amount of spots each day (it's seasonal - they have in fall and spring but not summer - see website). It's an hour class for $10 and includes a snack, craft, nature walk etc. They usually pull out an animal each class. It's great to get some time in nature with other kids. In summer, they have a full week of Magic Mornings in their Itty Bitty Briar Camp. Ms. Heidi teaches it and she is just great. They have a different theme every day such as sun, water, clouds etc and there's an activity each day (visit pond and catch tadpoles, water play, craft pertaining to theme). They have preschool pioneers for ages 4-5 and summer camp for older kids for a week in late June. *Just beware in June that parking is limited due to school field trips and you may not fit in either of the lots; you may have to park out front of the house to the left (which is fine - she just doesn't want buses idling there) They also have field trips to gardens and to the shore, classes for seniors, family nature nights, hot smores nights... Only negative (besides parking, which they can't really control), is the "snacks" for kids at Magic Mornings aren't the healthiest. One was cinnamon sugar graham crackers with whipped cream- regular would have been fine. 2 days were cheddar gold fish. Another day was blue jello with whipped cream. And some red licorice - the kind that whips. Fruit Loops were used for colors. So, if you don't like your child eating sugar, let them know you have a dietary restriction or bring your own snack (snack time is ~10 min and probably not needed but the kids always love snack time!). Some options that would be healthier and just as easy would be pretzel sticks, fruit, crackers, popcorn, veggies, string cheese...but I guess those all cost more besides pretzels/crackers/popcorn.

New Hope has some of the most haunted sightings and buildings in a 2 square block and in the country. ( The tours are every Saturday night from the first Saturday in June up to and including the Saturday before Thanksgiving. In the month of "October only" you can also find tours on a Friday night besides the usual Saturday night. The tours start at 8p and meet on the corner of Main and Ferry Street next to the Parry Mansion Museum. You don't need a reservation. I just walked up and there were two ladies taking money and giving out a paid sticker. Then you just line up with the rest of the tour people. PLEASE BRING CASH! They will also do private tours with advanced notice. My group had over 30 people in it. I suggest getting there at least 30-40 minutes before. The cost is $12. The tour itself is about an hour. Make sure you wear a sturdy pair of shoes. You will be walking down stairs and on dirt paths, and near a canal. These tours have been going on for over 42 years. New Hope has such a fun vibe. Everyone was excited for this tour. Parking in New Hope is a bit tricky. If you can't find street parking, I suggest parking a few blocks away in one of several lots. You will do a lot of walking in New Hope. The Staff was all very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. I would definitely recommend this tour.

It's a very special Library…read more Besides the absolutely beautiful architecture. Please tour the different rooms and see the Nakashima furniture on the main floor. Downstairs you can see the children's area. On the stairwell going down, please admire the artwork!! The staff was very friendly and answering all my goofy questions!! They have photos on the wall by the Nakashima table one of the photos of Carl Samberg, Pearl buck & james Michener. I really enjoyed having a self tour and finding out the different activities. I visited Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve this past Saturday when I was exploring New Hope for…read morethe day. It's a nature preserve and botanical garden with a lot of grounds to explore. It was busy on a warm Saturday afternoon, but there was plenty of parking on the road leading up to the Visitor Center. Then, after you've purchased your admission, you can wander their 12 or so trails that wind through five miles of the grounds. The highlights of my visit were the trails that ran along the creek, the stone bridge, and the new pond. In summer, it was a bit too hot for the wildflowers (I bet spring is incredible here), but it was green and wooded and beautiful. I spent a couple of hours exploring the grounds, and it was a great way/place to stretch my legs and take a break from town! If you like a trail, Bowman's Hill is a great place for that just minutes from the center of New Hope.

NOSTALGIA OF AMERICA'S FIRST SUBURB in the 1990's & working on your dreams and it's never to late! JACK ROSEN PHOTOGRAPHY displayed all around. It really takes you back to the sort of dreaming nostalgic planned community. Our grandparents got the pleasure to move into long ago. And these photos were also for sale tonight. The handmade Christmas ornaments and cookies for sale, charming touch!! So this is a local twist on the Charles Dickens classic. I really enjoyed the chance to see this because I missed it last year. I loved all the songs and watching these dreamers manifest, righteous jollies tribute to Levittown. It made me very happy to be there to catch it this season.
