Csaba (pronounced Cha-ba) is great! I wish I'd found him sooner. He came out today for routine maintenance, but also to check on a few minor issues I was having with my furnace. He knew it well because it turns out he used to live in my building on Chicago's northside! His communication is great -- he answered immediately when I called. And we scheduled the appointment for just a few days later. He also called me the morning of the appointment to let me know he'd be "12 minutes late!" :O SO many workers are always late...I really appreciate that especially since it wasn't even majorly late. He wore a mask and removed his boots without me asking. He was friendly and personable. He listened to my issues and then showed me the simple fixes that I can do myself in the future. He basically said "let me show you this so you don't have to call me to come out in the middle of the night..." This is a guy that knows customer service and isn't at all about trying to get more money out of you. He knows the importance of word of mouth and quality work. He is great and VERY fairly priced. Wow. I had some water leak from my AC unit due to a PVC pipe that needed to be extended. Csaba drove down the next day, extended the pipe and fixed the problem effortlessly. Not only that ... he refused to charge me because apparently the job was "too simple". He even answered all my questions about how to replace my old water heater. DO NOT RELY ON CSABA. His first impression will be great, but he will let you down. I asked him to look at a portable air conditioning unit we needed installed. He came by, gave us a quote, and said he would be back the following Monday. After nearly 10 calls, 4 voicemails, he still has not returned a single one. I called at least 10 companies to see if anyone can give me a quote of adding freon to our two window AC units. Other nine companies either gave me an outrageous quote or they don't offer that. When I called SGA Heating, it surprised me how helpful the person was. He told me first check if filters are clean. (Didn't even know there is one in AC.) Then explained it's not cost effective to add freon because price probably will be even higher than a new unit. I don't have to use their service to tell what a great company SGA is. I appreciate their help very much. I will definitely call SGA for new AC units when we're ready. read more

Csaba is the best. We got up one day without hot water. I called him and he patiently guided me in diagnosing the situation through texting, pictures etc first and found out that our inflammable sensor on the water heater was triggered. He then in the same day found the very-hard-to-found sensor replacement (Amazon will take 2 days to ship it) and came over and fixed the problem at a very reasonable rate. I manage a property in Chicago remotely from NYC, so I have to rely on contractors' help when things go wrong. For that reason, I'm so glad I found Csaba! My tenant reported that the A/C vent in the bedroom was not blowing any air; I called Csaba and he diagnosed every possibility over the phone. Csaba came over today to look at a few things that my inspector had notified me about before I bought my home. He is very honest and told me that I wouldn't need to fix certain things. His approach is: "what would I fix?" In addition, he fixed my leaky humidifier by adjusting a few parts and identified for me what I should purchase at Home Depot and install. This, of course, was the most economical solution. He is also a great teacher. I am challenged in the area of home repair. Csaba was extremely patient and instructive in showing me what I needed to do to maintain my humidifier and air purifier. I plan to use him again in a heartbeat. I am still baffled by what happened here. I used SGA once before in the summer when Csaba came to repair my broken AC. He was excellent, timely, reasonable and even gave me great maintenance tips. But after a no call, no show on the coldest day of the year so far, I have to regretfully give a 1 star. Two days ago I noticed a strange sound coming from my furnace. The heat was still working but I wanted to be proactive and get it checked out before it went out on me. I called Csaba and made an appointment for this morning at 9AM. Woke up early this morning with no heat and a sick infant. I was so relieved that I already had my 9AM appt. When it got to be 9:15 I shot a text just to confirm that we were still on for the appointment. No response. When it got to be 9:30 I called and left a voicemail. No response by 10. He was timely in the past and has a great reputation, so I can only assume that some emergency came up. I went ahead and made an appointment with Oasis Heating & Cooling, who were fantastic, squeezed me in today and fixed my problem (motor had gone out). I did call Csaba and leave another voicemail that I made an appointment with someone else. Never heard anything back, which I find to be very unprofessional. I don't understand treating customers this way. If he had just called and said - hey I'm way backed up, I won't be there until much later today - I would have understood. It just doesn't sit right with me to be completely ignored like my time or business isn't valuable. He is a nice guy but I have no choice but to take my business elsewhere. read more

Csaba is just incredible. He's come to my home twice for issues I worried were massive and expensive. He was very thorough, candid, helpful, and affordable. The most recent visit, he showed us a quick fix with our furnace that had been blocking our heat from functioning to its fullest. I had multiple "mystery" problems involving ducts in my old home - noises, excessive dust, etc. I had other companies come out in the past; nobody was ever able to solve the problems.
