When I explained that I didn't want the X-ray Just taken to be repeated unnecessarily, in accordance with the latest ADA guidelines, I was pressured (upsold) by 3 staff members to give in, and was finally refused service, wasting my time. I thought that the dentist would know to remove composite not just remove the wire. The office communication is unprofessional compared to my current dentist and office. Thanks to the dentist who clearly did not do her job, I have had composite on the back of my lower teeth for 26 years that I have to get removed now and pay more money. This was my last experience in the office detailed below: I usually don't give anyone on yelp a one or two star review. After the experience I have had the last time I came to the office for an emergency dental visit because my front tooth chipped. I never in my life seen a dentist who doesn't look at the patient's mouth, but will just look at the X-ray. Dr. Young did not give me options just told me that I had to get the tooth extracted and the other front tooth extracted because it is cracked. I felt like I was pressured and seen as a number, not a person. I was a patient for six years and I never felt like that before. Coming out of COVID practices are trying to recover their losses. When I was in the office the person doing the mold for my teeth kept on messing it up and used the wrong sized tray for my upper and lower jaws. I told him that its too big yet he ignored me and made me sick to my stomach on the fourth try he finally did the smaller tray and apologized saying sorry I should've listened to you. I am a patient with dental anxiety where it is severe that I have panic attacks stepping into a dentist office. I was at my breaking point it took every ounce not to curse the dental assistant out for not listening to me. The level of respect and care as well as customer service, is not up to par like my dentist office I have now. Dr. Young saw dollar signs when he saw me and not wanting to do anything else besides extraction and dental implants, which is $$$$$. I ended up going elsewhere, where my anxiety is less now and I got to keep my teeth with crowns, which was less than what was quoted.

The procedure itself literally took 15 minutes (plus prep time), and every step of the way, Dr. Lyu explained what he was doing and why he was doing it (I was awake the entire time). I know they perform these extractions all day long, but it's nice to see that even for a simple case, he makes sure his patients are at ease. I also appreciated his clear pricing and answers to all of my questions leading up to the procedure, despite having out of network insurance. After calling his office following the initial consultation about a discrepancy on their quote, Dr. Lyu himself personally called me back and adjusted the pricing. He also did not try to upsell me on a bone graft, even after checking the extraction site on the day of surgery. Honest practice is appreciated! In our modern world where every service can feel as though we are being shuffled along, Dr. Lyu stands out for his professionalism, efficiency, and overall great experience. Can't recommend enough!

I don't know if it was the day, or his demeanor in general, but it was a cleaning appointment and for some reason the dentist himself decided to do the cleaning instead of the hygienist. It was painful and crude, either from lack of recent experience, or ego. Dentists get a bad rap, and that experience didn't do this place justice. Ego has no place in healthcare, and I expected a lot more from this practice.

The office suite 2318 is located on the 23rd floor, which required us to look it up before finding Dr. I's office. The bathrooms required keys due to issues with vagrant visitors. I specifically liked that there was a handicap accessible bathroom in addition to a male and female restroom. I enjoyed meeting another tradesman in my trade of programming while in the lobby. Overall, not only is Dr. I is among the nicest dentists I've ever met--the kindness carries over to his staff who helped hand me the key while assisting a elder patient needing to access the restroom. Another patient offered to return the key for us. It was a wonderful experience that I would wish upon anyone.

My surgery was quite long, and I woke up from anesthesia with about 10-15 minutes remaining in the procedure. I was in excruciating pain almost immediately -- which never really subsided. I also lost feeling in the bottom half of my face, which they did warn me could happen. After returning home and following protocol, my pain kept increasing (even after about 7 days). I made several calls to Dr. Bedrossian and was often met with what seemed like annoyance. He saw me once after two weeks and multiple pleas, only to briefly look in my mouth and say everything looked fine, and that the that my anxiety was the root cause for the issues. I was in and out of the emergency room for pain and bleeding for about 3 weeks; they kept telling me to revisit the surgeon who did the procedure, but at this point Dr. Bedrossian would not return my calls. Finally, his partner Dr. Gurries generously agreed to see me. He reopened my wounds and removed a large hematoma in my incision site. I have been going to Dr. Raul Montalvo for many years, and unfortunately, over the last couple of…read moreyears, the quality of care and professionalism I initially experienced has noticeably declined. After reading other reviews, I realized many patients seem to share similar concerns. Some of the issues I personally experienced include: Conversations regarding my dental care became increasingly brief and dismissive, leaving me feeling unheard and rushed during appointments. The out-of-pocket costs not covered by my dental insurance seemed to increase significantly year after year, often without clear explanation. With nearly every procedure, I was told I was being given a "discount," but the frequency and amount of these supposed discounts eventually made me skeptical that I may have been overcharged to begin with. Interactions with the receptionist, Veronica, were consistently frustrating due to what I felt was unprofessional communication and poor office management. Her mistakes caused delays and, at times, denied claims through my dental insurance. When she became confused or could not explain something clearly, she would sometimes abruptly hang up the phone. On multiple occasions, my credit card was charged without my consent, even after we had a lengthy conversation where I clearly explained that I needed to be present or on the phone before any charges were processed. My final conversation with Dr. Montalvo was especially disappointing. I asked about my receding gums, and instead of examining the issue or offering guidance, he quickly responded that a periodontist would need to evaluate it, while appearing too rushed to even take a closer look himself. After all of these experiences, I decided to find another dentist where I felt more confident and comfortable with the level of care and professionalism. Once I made that decision, I contacted Dr. Montalvo's office to request my final bill. The following week, I received a letter from Dr. Montalvo stating that he could no longer provide dental services to me. The timing felt petty and unnecessary. What I learned from this experience is that if a dental office consistently falls short in patient care, communication, professionalism, and transparent billing practices, it is better to act sooner rather than later in finding a provider you can trust.
