Please do not go to Sexton Dental! I do not usually write reviews but I feel like I need to let other people know my experience with this place. It was horrible! They heard you like cattle thru the procedures. They older white hair gentlemen that pulls your teeth and his older female helping him were horrible. I told them I was extremely scared of needles. The older man that was going to pull my teeth, stuck me several times for iv, then had three needles stuck in my hand and put my hand right in front of my face to show his rude assistant (older fake blonde lady). Then she sticks me in the other arm. It was so rough I grabbed for her shirt or something because I was having an anxiety attack. She hollared at me " Don't grab me"! Sexton Dental is great for a one day service. You must be very specific about what it is you want. I went in for one tooth, which is called a flipper. I didn't know this was the name at the time. I kept insisting I came for one tooth! When I went back to receive it, it was a partial with three teeth on it. I never mentioned wanting anything but ONE tooth. No one told me they didn't make what I know now is called a flipper. I was told there that it was called a partial. I was shocked when it was a big thing with three teeth. It fits, but I hate it. I took my son to Sexton Dental clinic on Monday March 10,2025. My son was having pain all weekend due to his wisdom teeth. His gums were swollen and looked like he had an abscess. The front desk and registration ladies were Amazing. The billing lady was extremely rude and then told me my son didn't have coverage after multiple times informing her his coverage was active she finally reached out to someone else who was working from home and they advised her his coverage was active. Once he got to the back he got Xrays. the dentist never check his mouth he just came in the room told him he can't do the procedur. My son asked if he could get anything for the pain. Do you know this man look at my son never said a word and walked out the room. If he would have look in his mouth he would have seen the cause of the pain he could have at least prescribed an antibiotic. We now have another appointment with a nice professional office. Partial plate has NEVER FIT PROPERLY! Been back several times still not fitting properly.

I have read all the negative reviews and I am happy to say that my experience was amazing. I did the sedation for the extractions which took me to the second floor. I was only down stairs for a little bit but any interaction that I had with staff was very professional and compassionate. Its been 5 months and now I am getting ready for implants with Dr. Terry. My inital consult for that was perfect. He explained everything to me in great detail and his staff was very polite as well. read more

I really was pleased with my experience at Sexton Dental. I went in with the intent of getting a one day resin partial and they talked me into to changing over to a cast one. That was three years ago and it is perfect and fits so well I don't even know it's there. The doctors and staff were professional and found them very knowledgeable and caring. Several horrible visits. They just want to rush you in and out. The Dr got mad at me when I mentioned some concerns. I have spent several thousand dollars for many nightmare experiences. My crowns are discolored, not smoothed or shaped properly, but the last experience was so bad that I'm walking away from this business. The Dr that pulls teeth is also horrific. I will NEVER make the mistake of going to Sexton again, the Dentist that pulls teeth there, has the personality of an ant!! He is in too much of a hurry to get you in and out, it's like he doesn't want to be bothered with any questions or statements you have, if he doesn't like his job, then he needs to retire!! This dude tried to pull my tooth twice, pulling and yanking on it, and mind you, it was already hurting like CRAZY!! I kept telling this dude, that it isn't numbed up yet and he said well it should be, I have given you the MAX dosage of numbing meds I can give you, and he said you are gonna feel pressure, and there is no way it can't be numb enough, and proceeded to yank on the tooth again and I said, Oh heck no you are done, and he said well we will just refund your money back, since you can't handle getting it pulled, and I said, oh I can handle it, you just don't have any compassion for your patients, and too much in a hurry to leave for the day, he didn't like what I said to him and I don't care! He is in a profession where he should have more caring compassion for his patients. AND the x-rays they do there are not very good quality, like a Panoramic x-ray should be, you surely pay enough for it! I would go to my dogs Vet. before I would ever go back there again. I will say the x-ray techs and Dental Hygienist were very nice and caring, that Dentist could learn something from them!! The ONLY reason I went there was bc it was an emergency and I was in EXTREME PAIN, and my Dentist was out of town. The end solution was my Dentist sent me to the Oral Surgeon (Dr. Lawhon, in Florence) and he and his staff were so CARING and AWESOME!! They didn't mind taking time to answer my questions, we need more Healthcare professionals like him and his staff! This place is AWFUL! They tell you one thing over the phone and then another when you show up. Using them as a last minute resort, my daughter has been in excruciating pain for a few days. She gets in there and they basically charge her $115 for them to tell her that there was nothing they can do for her. No referral, no relief, no shot to numb her pain.....nothing!! Considering she has private insurance and not medicaid I'm assuming they dont like her. Long story short, these people are rude, very misleading and very unprofessional. I would not recommend to anyone unless you have free healthcare and dont have to come out of pocket, then I guess the service wouldn't matter. read more

I am currently sitting in the waiting room writing this which hopefully proves just how serious I am about it. My mother came in for dentures. She is hard of hearing, so I tend to stick by her side to repeat what others say. Of course, they wouldn't let me stand in line with her. That is fine AS LONG AS people are understanding and compassionate with her. Well, Elaine, the receptionist was not. She was rude and condescending to not only my mother, but the majority of people who came through the line. While sitting in the waiting room, I overheard Dr. Scott talk down to an elderly man and walk away from him because he said he couldn't understand him. So rude! Next, I walked back with my mother(again, because she can't hear) only to be reprimanded by a doctor. When I tried to explain, he completely dismissed what I was saying. The nurse that came out literally put her hand and another lady's face as she was trying to explain why we were back there with our mothers. If you can help it, go somewhere else. After reading some of the reviews from former patients I wondered if I should just keep saving my money and make an appointment with Affordable Dentures here in my home town. After reading the reviews of Sexton Dental patients who were pleased with their experience and happy with their smile I said what the heck. ANYTHING is better than the way I look now. I left for Sexton Dental Clinic at 2:30 a.m. Sunday July 4. I arrived at 5:30 a.m. Monday July 5. Right from the start I knew that I had made the right decision in coming here. Everything was done in an orderly fashion, everything was explained to me in great detail, all staff members were kind and caring. The dentist was awesome! He quickly removed my bad teeth with absolutely zero pain. I brought $1,100 with me and left with over half of that still in my purse. You simply cannot beat their prices. Last but not least, I believe that my worst fear was getting a plate that was to big or to loose for my mouth or they just didn't look real or natural. My fears were relieved when they put my plate in and it was absolutely PERFECT:) I would recommend Sexton Dental to anyone needing dental work. I only give this place two stars because of how organized they are product wise half star at most . Hopefully they make dentures better than they do Partials mine is way too big and bulky for my mouth. The lady showed me three sets of teeth on a piece of like cardboard and said this is what you have to choose from I said what's the difference the lady said $290,$305,and $320 . I told her I already have a denture she said let me see I showed her so she said I can only get the 290 or the 305 then because of the color. When I went into the room to get wax fitted I seen a flyer on the wall for flexible partials not this glob of crap they gave me. When I went back in for fitting the lady tried telling me that I'm gonna need adhesive for a damn partial which has two hooks. I told her it doesn't fit properly and the stupid woman said you have to get used to it. After you pay and you come back to get your product you're just a number that they wanna push in and out the door.I have been dealing with partials and a denture for a while and it shouldn't feel like a glob of shit that's too big for your mouth and digging in to your gums because it's too big.They do not take the time to get the proper fit because they want to rush you out of there they Already have your money and it says no refunds. read more

I really like Sexton Dental Clinic because they will get you in pretty quickly. When We arrived there I just had to wait 2 mins. till they called me back. I just got 3 root canals today and temporary ones on, in 3 weeks I'll set my crowns back. Dr. Terry was very nice and tells you what he is going to do before he does it. I never leave a review until I think it's absolutely necessary. I have been trying to get my boyfriend in to have a root canal and replacement. We have already seen a dentist and had xrays. He slipped and fell into a pool BUSTING HIS FRONT TOOTH. He has been in immense pain since. Immediately when you call you get a ring back message that they are experiencing a high volume of calls and have to leave a message. I have left MANY. I had one message returned and was told I would have to schedule two appointments five weeks apart, I asked if I could call him for days and call right back to schedule, and she said absolutely. I called back, had to leave a message. Called again a couple hours later, left a message. Called every morning or so, had to leave a fucking message. Not a single call since has been returned. If I have to pay up front and then have insurance reimburse me, you'd think their office would be a little more accommodating. Service is trash. Customer service is a joke. The lower is huge I look like the donkey from shrek with them in my mouth. I called they said let it heal and wait on the stitches to come out so I waited. Then I called yesterday and told them I was coming today and they said good and I ask what I would need to pay and they told me nothing. So I drive the almost 4 hours and sit here 3 hours to be told my 90 days expired yesterday and they want me to pay again. Sexton Dental Clinic is the worst place that I have ever been to in my life. The front desk receptionist is rude, disrespectful and needs to learn how to speak to people. I had my teeth pulled in November 2021 and have not been able to wear my partials as of yet!!!! Dr. Stith is not a dentist that I would recommend to anyone, she knew my partials were not made right and she still tried to adjust them, knowing that they would never fit right.. They had my money and still did not try to correct the problem. The new dentist Dr. Montgomery that's going to replace her was very understanding and right away noticed that my partials need to be remade. I hope this reaches the right person in Florence that's the head of this clinic, Dr. Waller. They need to correct my issue and anyone else's for that matter. I wish i could give them "No Star's " because that's what this clinic needs. On April 6 2022 I went to Sexton Dental Clinic in Myrtle Beach for a tooth extraction, and was quoted $190. Once in the Dental chair with bib on, they asked me to sign paperwork and upped the cost to $290. When the procedure was done, the Dentist knocked-out the filling in the adjacent tooth to the one extracted. When confronted Sexton, they (Jay Waller, Director of Public Relations) told me my request for reimbursement was "denied". The Dentist there told me that "these things sometimes happen". My cost to repair Sexton's botched job will be approx. $400 (exam, x-ray, re-filling). I thought it reasonable to seek reimbursement (1/2 what I paid them ... $145) to offset the cost. I now have to pursue my case (for the full $290) with Myrtle Beach Small Claims Court at 1201-21st Ave. North. I plan also to alert the Better Business Bureau / BBB. I would recommend choosing another Dentist in MB. They did not stick to their quoted price, they botched the job, and they take no responsibility for their mis-deed. read more

I went to Sexton Dental in Florence SC to save money. I made an appointment and after a hotel room and gas it was not that big a savings. There's an old saying, "If it sounds to good to be true it is". We arrived at 6:00 a.m. and stayed until 5:15. Don't know why you make an appointment because there were at least 500 people run thru there daily. It was a mad house. My wife and I were not able to eat all day and if she left to eat I would be charged an additional $200 for every 15 minutes they waited on her to get back. When I tried in my lower dentures I couldn't tell if they fit right or not due to my mouth being numb and after I got home I had to take a dremel tool and grind it to fit. This place is only there for the money and is very unorganized with shoddy work. I sure wish I had paid the extra money and got quality work done. I won't be back. read more
