I've only been here once, in an emergency when our washing machine conked out on us, and West Park…read moreLaundry really saved the day. Considering it was a busy Saturday afternoon and we had two huge loads to clean and dry, the guys here did an exceptional job for us as we left it with them and came back a couple of hours later to find it all sparkling and dry. Of course, you can choose to fill the machines yourself and sit on the adequate benches and wait, or perhaps wander round West Park for an hour or so - whichever way you do it, it's cheap, cheerful, and if you're in desperate need of cleaning services like I was, it's the place to go.

So, the other night my boyfriend decided to go out for a few easy ales with his friends. I was…read moreworking away like a beaver so left them to it and passed up on the offer of joining in. I asked, "Do you think it will be a late one?" He said, "No *friend doesn't really even drink anymore!" What lies! I was rudely awakened at 4.40am to a drunken lump plodging down on to the bed next to me. 30 seconds later the lump of drunk shot out of bed which meant that by now I was entirely awake and needed to use the bathroom. He was being sick so I went to the other one. When I came back upstairs I found him removing all the bed sheets. It was at this moment that I noticed the circumference of sick, which had also breached my side of the bed. Argh! The one small saving grace was that there was no actual puke on me! So, it must be coming together now, right? Laundrette, sick - getting there?! Yes. I forced him to us to the laundrette the next day to clean our duvet and pillows. We drove up and parked outside, it's fairly open to do so, and took our guilty black bin bags inside. As we went to start stuffing them into the machine a chap turned to help us and explained how things were done. Basically we were to put everything in the machine and he would start it. We'd forgotten powder so he chucked a bit of that in and voila - off it went. We were able to leave it going with him whilst we went for some lunch at the cafe nearby, which was really nice, only needing to nip back up and sort out the drying of everything. The fellow in the laundrette is certainly very helpful, if a teensy bit mumbly and hard to understand, but otherwise really nice. The whole process cost in the region of £8 and was done and dusted in about an hour. Probably would have taken less time had we not been stopping off for lunch! My only slight complaint was the smell of the washing powder. Although now lovely, clean and sick-free (which is how I prefer my bed items) the scent of the washing powder reminded me of the freshly cleaned toilets of say, an airport or a train station. By no means an unclean smell, but not a pleasant one exactly! Still, a few hours airing on the washing line and that sorted it. Yay! Decent little business with helpful staff and good rates.
