There are a few areas of concern that I want to address about this business. First a little about…read moreme. I have been working in the jewelry business for over a decade and have made multiple trip abroad to gather gems and fine jewelry alike. I always try and work with local jewelers as they are often rooted in the community which gives support back to that community. With that being said, the biggest concern that I would warn people in the Wisconsin Rapids area is that Paul Gross, in specific Robin, has a very entitled opinion and frankly can be very standoffish. I brought a loose diamond in to have set - when asked if they could set this the first request was what type of setting do I want to have.... this is typical and expected. I chose a couple different settings and when I asked about price I was amazed at what I heard. Now, I know the lights have to get paid, but for a simple setting with less that 60 ct. pts, I would not expect platinum to come in at over 2800 USD. Taken back a bit, I explained I may use my own setting and have their gold smith set it for me. Needless to say, I left the store with a very unsure answer and frankly I felt like as soon as I just asked for the stone to be set no one else in the store wanted toe help me. I know 200 USD isn't the typical 5k plus they want for sales, but remember this is a small community and a sale is a sale. I called back about three days later and asked if they would be willing to set the stone. The owner gave me a blunt answer of "NO." I then asked where else in town I could get this set, after a lengthy explanation of why she didn't know I said thank you and good bye. In short this business is garbage: 1. No customer support 2. Not willing to give you the time of day if you won't drop a serious dollar 3. Rude 5. Over bearing 6. Lies I would never go to a jeweler I do not trust... and I DO NOT TRUST THESE FOLKS.

As Mark specializes in old, obsolete cameras, it is important to understand that many of the projects Mark takes on will be less than perfect, i.e. not as new, when he is done with them; however, he never fails, if it is humanly possible, to return a functional, entirely usable piece of equipment. So far, Mark has performed CLA and repairs on cameras including Foca, Rollei, Agfa, and Zeiss. As a bonus, and unlike other repair persons I have dealt with, Mark is unfailing and prompt in communication. If you have an old camera that can be repaired. Mark will get it running again.

There were a few things wrong with the camera. Some were fixed. One wasn't. The big problem was the shutter blades sticking. That was some dried up lubricants. Those were cleaned up well. The lenses and some of the other things were cleaned up nice. The one thing that didn't get addressed is the shutter speed knob. It's very tough to turn on the lowest and higher shutter speeds. That was the second big reason that I sent the camera to him. Unfortunately, it seems that it was not addressed well. It's still very tough to rotate. The camera took an about 4/5 months to get back to me. I inquired about once a month or more without responses. I don't mind that it took 4-5 months. Leica takes at least 6 months to turn a lens. But the communication left me with the feeling I'd never get it back. One day it just showed up. No notes, no emails. What he did fix was fixed well. He mentions fixes having being warrantied. I just don't want to trust the round trip.
