Sew-Cal Embroidery exceeded my expectations and then some. Our launch date was Sept 1st and they got our order done today Sept 1st without even asking to rush it. The stitch quality is 2nd to no one... the placement, everything across the board.. was on point. I live in San Francisco, yet run my business in Sac, Yolo, and Placer County's. I've worked with other screen printing and embroidery companies before and the customer service at Sew Cal, from updates on design to sample templates; I feel like I underpaid for the price point given. We've decided today, to have our Spring Windbreakers, Fall Hoodies, and Winter jackets done here as well. You want to talk about a great experience. I had a custom jersey that I needed in a hurry, I went to Sew Cal because I was already impressed with work they had done for me in the past. I went in on Wednesday afternoon, needing the work done by Friday. Kelly let me know that her software was down and she could not promise that it would be done since she did not know when she would be up and running. She sent me to a competitor because she obviously cared more that my needs were met than the $ she would get. After visiting the competitor, it was apparent that if I was going to have a chance at getting the jersey in time, Kelly was my best hope. She not only got it done in time, she did a magnificent job. I've been meaning to get our stockings embroidered and finally did it this year. So glad I found SewCal! Of course I waited until after Thanksgiving when I had taken all Christmas stuff out but they still got them done in about 2 weeks. Drop off was smooth. Lady filled out a form with required info. She was pleasant enough but not overly nice. Lady called to say they were done. Unfortunately I was out of town and didn't immediately recall SewCal and what they were about. ‍ lady wasn't too thrilled about needing to refresh my memory. Sorry! Pickup was golden!!!!! The embroidery on the stockings is AWESOME and the lady (different one than drop off) was super friendly! I honestly believe my communication was clear but I believe as one hand passed it onto the other the end result was only half satisfactory. I will say they were kind enough to stay a few minutes later so I could pick up my product. I know it was a small order during a busy season but it was as important to me as someone else large order. Too bad~there is no chance I'd consider using them or recommending them. The clerk made excuses blaming the equipment when I exclaimed "who puts initials in the top right corner of a pocket?" I brought in a bag to be embroidered with a small business logo (1 x 3 inches) 2.5 weeks before Christmas as part of a Christmas gift. I had asked about lead time and was told they would "do their best to have it ready by Christmas" which I thought was a little crazy considering the small size of work they'd be performing, and time until Christmas, but I accepted. Fortunately, they finished the item in less than a week and the item turned out great. While the business may not provide the most accurate turnoaround times, I am overall very happy with the product and will return to the business again for future embroidery needs. read more

Owner does have a hot temper. I was a regular customer and happy with the work they did. I had an outstanding invoice I was unaware of and she called me literally screaming about it. Said she had called many times over about, which was false. I take care of our bills always and immediately paid her for the tiny outstanding invoice that was due. I feel uncomfortable returning because she treated me poorly. I have found a new embroidery shop. read more

Wow! I'm impressed. Ordered 10 youth basketball jerseys over the phone. They had them completed in less than two weeks and the cost out the door was $232! I was happy. I golf every Thursday with a group of buddies and one member of our group was fortunate enough to get a hole-in-one.So we wanted to honor him with a hole-in-one flag. The club house sells the flags but we wanted it personalized, and we needed it before our next round of golf so that we could present it to him on the course. When I contacted Kelly at Sew Cal Monogramming and asked her if she could have it ready by Wednesday, she said come on in and let's see what I can do. So I dropped the flag off on Monday afternoon and the very next day she called me and told me it was ready. Great service, great price, and the flag looks fabulous. I called seven places to see if someone would be willing to embroider a custom lanyard for a gift and this was the only place that was willing to even look at it. I don't usually write comments on yelp, but I had to. I work at a local school in Roseville. We took some blankets there to have some embroidery done for our 3- sport athletes. The blankets were dropped off in May and when we picked them up there were a few errors. We had to buy new blankets ($80) each and have them redone. I went to pick them up and there were still some errors. We were told they will be corrected and I can pick up the next day , this was beginning of August. I went back a week and a half thinking they would be done since she said "tomorrow" it will be done. When I went back they made another mistake she misspelled "swimming" . This was very frustrating.... she knew it was not correct, why did she let it sit there for over a week instead of correcting it right away. She tells me when I got there to pick it up. So, I went back yesterday to pick of two blankets that have been misspelled and wrong info on the blankets (which was their error) There's only one blanket. The worker had to call the owner or manger on the phone and had her on speaker.She was not friendly, not understanding but she did apologized (not sincere, but just so I can hear those words) I was trying to speak to her but she kept cutting me off. Would not let me finish my sentence.( I ended up yelling so she would listen to me.) She wanted me to hear her reasons, that there are other orders and they are low in staff and hours. I understand that but this was an order from May. It was their mistake and our order kept getting pushed back, these seniors were looking forward to taking their blankets with them to college. The paper work was very clear I saw it and the other lady in the office agreed what should have happen. One blanket just need 1 letter fixed in the name and the other blanket needed the whole thing done over, they had all the sports incorrect, even though it was written down correctly. I ended up with two blankets for one girl and the other girl had none. How does a business like this make so many errors. If they are overwhelmed with orders, it's ok to tell people you can't do an order at this time. The orders that you get need to be done correct. Quality it better than quantity. I can't trust this place to meet a deadline or get the order done correctly. The owner needs to be in a different business. read more

This is a family owned business and they strive to please all customers no matter how big or small the job is. I've read a couple of these lower rated reviews and I just don't get it. I've always had a very positive experience with Sew Cal. In fact, one of the jobs I had done was a last minute, family reunion t-shirt that I wanted to have "created". I had no idea if Kelly and her crew could do such a specialized request on such short notice, but they went out of their way to guide me thru the process and to get it done in time for me to take 30 personalized t-shirts back to Colorado for my family. And my family LOVED the surprise! I know that Sew Cal does a tremendous amount of work and they do it well. Between Kelly, her Mom, and her employees, they strive to please all of their clients and their clients needs, and they do it in a timely manner and at a fair price.
