I don't like to pay for replacement parts from the dealer (which appears to be the rule in this area of Maryland) but in this case it worked to my benefit. As for inspections, I have heard the same story about just about every repair shop. While I appreciate the level of scrutiny, it appears like a one time chance to obtain a lot of work. Coming from a neighboring state , I was naive as far as the costs and the 30 day requirement for findings to be resolved. A lesson learned the hard way. I have found the Walt Eger team to be responsive to my needs and to provide timely informative updates.

James is at the front desk never called or gave me any updates, my car was there for weeks, He saying that my warranty should have called me but my car IS AT YALL SHOP, y'all have the details but James act like he don't understand things and really don't know how to talk to customers he is very rude ! I couldn't get it fix so I wanted it back to my house, So I TOLD THEM A DAY BEFORE that the tow truck is coming in the morning, I called James and I told him is my car ready and clear for the tow truck to get it and he said YES! So they waste the tow truck money and time because they throw Snow and and it freeze into ice on me car and around it and I had to call another one and I gave them some time told them to call me when I they are done so I can get another tow truck! So I called back James was like we been clear the ice off your car and I told him why u didn't say another, THEN HE JUST START LAUGHING THEN THEY THOUGHT I WOULD NOT KNOW BUT IS A BIG DENT IN THE BACK OF MY CAR THAT THEY DAMAGE! I can only assume the people who are leaving good reviews either know…read moreabsolutely nothing about car service, or that they took advantage of me because I knew nothing about car service at the time. I spent well over a thousand dollars for them to fix things that did not to be fixed while ignoring the actual problem. The worst experience I had there was when I asked the lady if they could fix my cigarette lighter/phone charger. I told her that it was NOT the fuse and was the wire, because I just had it looked at. They replaced the fuse anyways and the wire was still broken. It cost me 15 dollars which I figured was no big deal because Im not the type of person to complain, but this resulted my car being totaled and catching on fire when it caused an electrical fire, which the tow/salvage company just confirmed. I just got off the phone with the woman, telling her briefly of my regrets, asking if there was any way she might compensate or help my situation /in any way/, (I was not asking for all of my money back or to pay for the car, I said compensate or help in any way), and she made it very clear that she was completely uninterested in talking to me. Because of this, I am leaving bad reviews, and telling the people who have highly recommended them to me to go other places, which they have, and they are losing business because of it. I sincerely hope they read this review and try to help the situation but I doubt it. All it would take is a partial refund of some of the "services" they offered me but they just dont care about customer service. If you take your car there they will probably do what they charge you for, but if youre like I was, ignorant of car maintenance, and have an appearance like youre lower class (despite my chemistry degree and working in the health field, I apologize but I dont dress up to get my car fixed), and are not an assertive person who doesnt complain when they dont fix your car they will take full advantage of you. I should add that they replaced my muffler when my car was making noises (600 dollars) which did not fix the actual problem, and my exhaust system literately broke in half less than 3 months later. I called them to let them know and they said it wasnt their fault because the exhaust system broke in a different area. Well, maybe when you were diagnosing my car you should have noticed that the pipe connecting my resonator to my catalytic converter was extremely rusty. I could have replaced the ENTIRE exhaust system for under 300 dollars labor included, but I made the mistake of trusting the great reviews this place has gotten and family member that recommended them. I have lost over 1 grand there and many hours I spent personally learning how to fix my car, just to have it explode in a fire costing me another 2500 that the car was worth because they did not do the service they charged me for. Despite this, the lady cannot be bothered to even have a conversation about helping me in any way. I'm sure they are stressed and have problems but they do not deserve to be in business, and I can only hope I can help people by telling them to avoid them at all costs.

I figured that I either have a leak in my tire(s) or the air pressure sensor wasn't working. I relied on good old Yelp to find a shop nearby and came across Caton Auto. I dropped off my car and I always get a little uneasy at auto shops cause you feel like you're vulnerable but my experience was amazing. I checked in and waited in the lobby. They have free water, snacks and coffee. They came up to me shortly after and said that my sensor wasn't working and there was no pressure on getting it replaced. They said it would cost about $200 to fix and it actually was the price I was expecting if that was the issue. I just didn't want to pay that for a sensor. And the mechanic told me that he doesn't blame me. I asked how much it would be and he said nothing. They even adjusted my tire pressure since some were off due to filling it with air at the gas stations and they aren't the most accurate. I really wasn't expecting this kind of service and would come back to this place in the future for services to my vehicle. Awesome place!

Caton Auto Clinic - Excellent Customer Service, but Get an Estimate First To Be Sure…read more Caton Auto Clinic provides excellent customer service and is affiliated with AAA. They offer a convenient after-hours drop-off box, a nice waiting area, and a location right off a major beltway. I was also impressed by how clean and well-maintained the parking lot and repair facility were. With over 35 years in business, they clearly have an established presence in the community. My main concern was the cost of diagnostics and repairs. I was quoted approximately $900 for diagnostics and the recommended work, with individual diagnostic charges ranging from about $160-$200 (see attached estimate). After getting additional estimates, I found a local garage that was able to complete ALL the repairs for about the same price as Caton Auto Clinic's original quote. Since my son's car was older, the repair cost was approaching the overall value of the vehicle, so I had to carefully consider whether the expense made sense. I understand that quality service and experienced technicians come at a cost, but I recommend asking for a detailed estimate and clarifying all diagnostic fees upfront before authorizing any work. I also noticed their billboard advertising a $79.99 oil change, which seems like a great deal in today's market! Overall, Caton Auto Clinic has a lot of positives, including friendly customer service, a clean facility, and a convenient location , coffee area . If I had a newer car, I would absolutely consider using them. For an older vehicle, however, I would recommend comparing estimates first to make sure the cost of repairs is worthwhile.
