He said the Salty Heifer was "a damn good burger" and "one of the best" and that's high praise "even though it was overcooked!" Yes... The burgers were all cooked more than we asked, so don't be afraid to order them less cooked than you like. We asked for medium, specifically saying they should be pink. There was no pink. They were all medium well. If they had been served at the requested temp... I can't even imagine... we might have bought a home in Wall tonight. We are from WAAAAAY out of town, so we were shocked to see THC cocktails on the drink menu! Never have I ever...

Ate here twice on our Badlands trip in November (Thanksgiving weekend when the town is like…read morebasically shut down)! The first night we tried the Buffalo Ravioli Bolognese & a steak with "seasonal veggies" (multi-colored-carrots). My Bolognese was good, but a little too much flavor on the meat sauce overwhelmed the ravioli. The Carrots with the steak were undercooked with no flavor. They really like Basalmic! its on the salads, veggie drizzle, coated the meatloaf - thinking in the bolognese too based on the flavor profile. 2nd day we got the buffalo meatloaf to share - my dad kept going on and on telling everyone how that's the best meatloaf he's ever had. It came with the carrots again & broccoli, plus mash potatoes. The Wedge Salad - probably the BEST I've ever had! We got it both nights! Now we are addicted to ordering them every time we have dinner together. I also tried the Huckleberry margarita (they were out of blackberries to make the Blackberries & Cream but I really wanted to try that too). It was sweet but unique. The ambience & decor was very attractive and part of what made us pick this restaurant first in our 3 night stay. It's on the corner down the road from Wall Drug. Beautiful white stone shopping strip. Had a gorgeous Holiday decor to it - Big tree in the front door and a few small ones. Brown leather chairs & hightop, Edison lighting everywhere, Cobblestone at the bar....Rustic and chic.

This is a solid choice for local dining…read more I will begin by saying the exterior of this building gave me pause. I have walked into a few 'less than friendly' establishments in my life and the exterior gave me that vibe. Thankfully, inside is a warm and delightful business with plenty of food options and stiff drinks at a fair price. No beer on tap, but a fair variety in cans. Definitely a space to bring the family, there are two dining areas. One to the right is a long narrow space with booths on the front side and tables in a variety of four and six seating configurations. Decor is wildlife pictures and dark paneling. No windows. To the left of the entrance is the bar and another grouping of dining tables. Parking is on three sides of the building and there are no designated parking spaces. Just be sure you and others can get in and out. The building entrance is street side. There is no awning or anything to let you know 'this is the one'. The menu has a kids section for the young ones. The regular Saturday special was prime rib w/a salad, roll, potato and dessert. So much food! They also offer a couple of ground buffalo meat meals along with sandwiches and entrees. We went with lighter fare and found a side salad order gives you one walk up to the salad bar. They also have a soup & salad bar meal option. As in most other restaurants we've encountered on our travels through the area, the salad base is a bagged iceberg lettuce mix. There were plenty of toppings and salad dressings to choose. My mushroom swiss burger was tasty as were the onion rings. The burger was well cooked and not greasy. Real onions in a tempura style batter had a nice flavor and crunch. Our waitress was pleasant with all the guests and she kept a close eye on us. We had our drinks in good time and the food came in an expected amount of time. Pay at the register by the door on your way out. There's a basket of candy just behind you there (I had a butterscotch. Yum!) and toothpicks are available in a dispenser on the counter. The internet tells me they are open until 11pm.

Need to get lunch, ok Badlands Bar & Grill in Wall SD. SURPRISE I was seated immediately as a loner. Menu - Rocky Moutain Oysters and Baverian Pretzels...daaahhh Yes, Oysters and Pretzels. Yeah the oysters were nicely fried, crisp on the outside, nice, soft & moist on the inside (can't believe I'm describing BB's, oh look up Rocky Mountain Oysters) The Pretzels were just soft pillowy puffs. Oh yes, had breakfast the following day

The bartender was a darling -- professional, pleasant, fun, and thoughtful. She took good care of me, and made sure I was able to get dinner even though it was close to the kitchen's closing time. Badlands Bar has been remodeled and the interior is bright and welcoming in a natural wood finish for very basic, hand built looking furniture. The restaurant bar is quite big and I can imagine it can get quite busy and accommodate a lot of people. It's very, very clean throughout. Forndinner, I had steak tips with fries -- I asked for medium rare and it came medium well. The meat was nothing special but it was definitely lean and and exactly what I was looking for after days of backpacking in the Badlands. The French fries were great, although next time I will try the coleslaw instead. The fat fried homemade bread was not as good as one of the servers said it would be. The price for my dinner was absolutely reasonable. I will definitely return after my next trip to the Badlands.

Started with a side salad. The blue cheese dressing was full of chunks of blue cheese and perfect. I'm picky on that! They didn't just use iceberg lettuce but a mix of other lettuces. I like that a lot. Whiskey tips in a sauce that was great. As promised, there was a kick. Side of beans ands they were cooked to the right al dente. Just the right spices. I felt like the portions were generous. I think two people could split that order. I would have taken leftovers but was on an expense account and wanted to try another place my second night! Not many people in town. I'm sure it's crazy in summer!

On a not-too-busy evening, we had a server who was polite, kept to himself a bit, gave us advice on the menu items, and brought our food promptly. The bison burger was, like a lot of other South Dakota food, very delicious, cooked extremely well. Fries were not greasy with a light crispiness. Chicken tenders were also very good, nothing dry, light batter, very nice flavor. It's unfortunate some of the other reviewers had a poor experience. From our perspective, we would definitely want to come back here again.
