I had a very similar experience as J.F. who posted a review on 10/15/11. I purchased a massage via living social as a gift for my partner. When my partner finally found the place, he refused to provide service to her because her name was not on the certificate. She informed him that it was purchased as a gift. He told her that if we were married and had the same last name, he would have allowed her to use the certificate. She called me upset that she was not able to use the certificate and I asked to speak him. I ended up speaking to the owner, Jay-Jurij Semonas, who was incredibly rude and insulting. He insisted that she could not use the certificate andthat I had to redeem the certificate myself. Again hestated if we were married, he would let her use it. She and I have been together for almost 6 years, have rings but are not legally able to marry. I asked him to make an exception because we were a gay couple and could not marry. He became even more rude and felt he was discriminating against us because we were a gay couple. I too agree with J.F.'s comments that his website's statement that "I respect all human beings and honor their process" is completely contradictory with his actions and words. I will be writing Living Social to see if I can get my money back as I would neverreceive services from that man. Madison has a very large gay population and I find it sad that his small business owner would choose to lose business rather than treat people fairly. read more

Jurij did exactly what I needed! I went in as a new customer looking for a professional, targeted massage. Weeks prior I suffered severe back spasms, affecting my posture and causing lower back pain. Jurij took the time to understand the issue (even mimicking my alignment to better understand what to target), and the entire session was spent working on undoing what the spasms had done. Though I left a bit sore, I could immediately tell a difference, and the following two days were dramatically better than any in the previous two weeks. Know that Jurij has his own unique approach. Expect to just go with the flow, but also know that he welcomes input and suggestions and is very conscious of how you feel throughout the session. I did not experience the issues that a previous reviewer encountered, but I'm sure I had different expectations. I don't expect a deep tissue massage to be comfortable, but that said this was still one of the best targeted massages I've had. read more

I was in town in Madison, WI, a few weeks ago on business and my husband being the sweetheart he is purchased a gift certificate for a Lava stone massage session at Seven Heaven Massage Studio. I get regular massages at home but I usually get deep tissue or Swedish. I got a hot stone massage when I was on vacation in St. Croix and it was good but compared to the Lava Stone Massage that Juriji Semonas (hopefully I spelled that correct) I was calling him J the entire time for short. Three days earlier I must have twisted or turned the wrong way in the hotel bed and that Lava Stone Massage was so wonderful. I was unsure going to a new massage spa in an entirely different state but my experience was blissful. The atmosphere was perfect and Jurji"s talented hands were just what I needed. The pressure and intensity was delightful and I zoned out and slept in a restful relaxed state for 90mins. I was pleased with my experience at Seven Heaven Massage. read more

After trying about six massage therapist I finally found one I like. Jay (Jurij) is very friendly and professional. He always asks me if there is a problem area that needs work; and then he works in that area. I like his strong hands; but I'm sure he could ease up if that is preferred. Jay is always taking classes and learning new skills. He asked if I like to try hot stones and cupping. I said, :Sure, I'll give it a try." I appreciate that I can make an appointment in the morning or afternoon. Many massage therapist have other work and limited availablity. I bought a package of massages which brings the price down. And I like that a relative or friend can use my package. I see Jay every other week and I make the next appointment while I'm there. Thanks, Jay. Before receiving your treatments and advisement, I could not manage very good posture with any consistency because the pain to relax into a good postured position was too much to even make the effort. Now I find myself feeling better than I've felt in years. I pay attention to how I sit, and am able to relax my shoulders in a "normal" position. My LA friends are old school when it comes to massages. Seriously, once a week is never enough. I've got some crazy stories of some shady massages throughout san fran and LA But seventh heaven had none of that. No weird Chinese back popping or weird thai massage, just a calming, tension lifting massage, which totally clear out my aching knee on my first visit. The next few weeks, even my running routine has felt stronger. The second visit I went right after having a minor elbow surgery and I swear he's why I've healed twice as fast as the doctors expected, which has made my life smooth sailings compared to the lack of mobility I was planning for. Jurij Semonas, or at least that how I remember how he spelled it, really has what I call unlimited hands. It's like he never gets tired and keeps going. I had a deep tissue massage yesterday and Jurij was pretty dedicated to his work. 5 Stars all around people!!. The receptionist was awfully concerned about my comfort in the waiting room and, let me tell ya, the waiting room smelled like roses. The massage table felt really sturdy and the massage itself was pretty darn comfortable - I don't think I felt awake at any point. The walls were thick as thieves so I couldn't hear anything going on outside the room. It was pretty cozy. It's easy to relax when the surroundings are so pleasant. I'm not a massage connoisseur by any means, but I recommend going here anytime!. read more

Completely relaxing massage was just what I needed during my travels. I had a massage with 7th heaven and I didn't use a coupon, but came in off a referral from a friend while visiting in town. I'm not in Madison frequently, but I do get massages everywhere I travel (us, china, states, caribbean) and consider myself discerning when it comes to what makes a good one. I called ahead to make sure I knew where the place was located and had no trouble finding it. I learned things about massage from Jurij that I never experience before even after 12 years of massages. I went back here again recently and it was still great. It has encouraged me to get on a somewhat regular schedule with them (as time/money/hubris allows). I'll probably go back to Jurim, who I had the first time I came. I feel he took more care in discussing my reasons for coming, concerns she could help me with, down to music choices. The person I had this time was still very skilled but not as careful and empathic. They're open long hours and the scheduling / reception system ensures that the whole place is quiet and serene as soon as you walk in the door. It is the best. read more

After attending a weight lifting class at my local gym I knew soon after I really did it. I have been away from the gym in some time and forgot how to do a lot of the proper form stuff. If you need therapeutic massage, this is the place to go. In 2009 owner Jurij Semonas ("Jay") cured my hip injury in one or two visits. This was after I'd seen a chiropractor at least 15 times, with no relief. Years later Jay welcomed me back after I was injured in a car accident. My daughter bought me a massage at 7th Heaven Massage Studio and I have never had more therapeutic massage. I have also had a hot stone massage and numerous chair massages from Jurij and have had a definite release of tension and stiffness in my back and neck muscles. I used to come with my wife to visit Jurij before I moved away to Seattle. He uses special techniques he as personally developed over years of practice to get your kinks out. I would say his strength lies in assessing you to figure out what type of massage will work best for you (how much pressure, where to focus his time...). Came here on a living social deal the staff was welcoming and didn't treat you like crap because you were using a coupon. Nice spot, quite and serene. I got a deep tissue massage, it was nice but I've had better. Unfortunately there was a fly in the room that kept buzzing near my ear which was a huge distraction and prevented me from zoning out for the massage. Dropped a star because of the fly! read more
