The Sevenhill Hotel combines country pub atmosphere and restaurant quality food, which is perfect after a day of wine touring. We went here upon recommendation of local winery staff - and now we know why!
The menu is a mix of pub grub and more refined dishes, with something to suit everyone. The drinks menu also showcases a variety of the local wines, and the beer list includes brews from Pikes, a recent addition to the Clare Valley region.
We chose ale battered fish and chips and the slow cooked pulled beef shank. The meals arrived, and the fish and chips was larger than the beef. However, what the beef lacked in size, it made up for in quality. The fish was super crispy and I was delighted to see proper thick-cut pub chips on the plate.
The food was great and the service was generally prompt and polite. The staff were also very helpful with making food/wine/beer pairing selections. We left very satisfied, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. read more
