Having Laura read for me was a very pleasant surprise. I've always had really ambiguous feelings about divination, but Laura is genuinely intuitive and very insightful. She said and saw things about me that were shockingly specific (and accurate). It's kind of a weird thing to mention, but one thing I really liked about her is how pragmatic and almost blunt at times she is. At some point she picked up one of my cards, explained it to me, and then said something like, "oh well, you could probably say that about anybody though, right?" and laughed, before explaining it in more context. To be honest, I was hesitant at first to do this, as I was a little afraid of what I might hear. Laura soon put me at ease, even before we met virtually. I know that you have had bad reviews before because when you asked me to give you a Yelp review, you had mentioned that you had gotten a bad review on Yelp before and that you asked all your "good" clients to post good reviews to counteract that person. That didn't sit right with me at the time, but that isn't why I gave a so-so review of you. I gave a review based on my experience. However, I didn't forget that you had mentioned to me that you engaged in "review-quashing" before. Although I may have made a mistake on "Doctor F" there are still 5 other reviews posted within a week after mine. And, it seems a little odd that when I did a chronological sort, his review showed up as posted after mine. But even if it was posted in 2015, it is a little odd that there is no "bad" review from 2015 visible that he was responding to... guess that one was "removed." had a reading with Laura about a month ago I wanted to let it all simmer before writing this...good readings will take time to process. First of all, I should share that I myself have read tarot for at least 10 years so I do have an idea of what makes for a great reading, or a not so great reading...and honestly, I've had em all Laura falls in the category of great readers. Highly recommended The first thing that struck me is...Laura works with incredible speed. There was no guessing, or hesitation. She is very very clear and direct channel. Confident. Direct. Precise. I took two tarot card reading classes with Laura earlier this year and was blown away. One thing that I was concerned about was the balance between spirituality and practicality, and I found that Laura had a very level head while still exploring the spiritual side of tarot cards. The class was about much more than just learning what the different cards mean, but how they work in conjunction together - something I had never really been taught before! The 10 minute guided meditation in the middle of class was one of my favorite parts... I've never spent much time meditating before, but I wish it had gone on longer! I was interested in learning Tarot and I searched Meetup for a Tarot group, I found Laura's meetup about learning Tarot. So I signed up and went to the class, I was a little skeptical, I usually am these things. I very pleasantly surprised with the class! Laura took the time to explain Tarot, the history, where the deck came from and how to give a reading. She explained things with great patience for us complete novices. After the theoretical part of the class she encouraged us to give reading using a handout. If we were stuck, she encouraged us to use out intuition first before she told us what she thought. That's the kind of encouragement I like rather than being told what the "answer" might be. I liked the class so much that I have been back many times and I will go again many times. My reading with Laura was clear, encouraging, and practical. In other words, incredibly helpful! She dropped right in as soon as we sat down, and once the cards were dealt, honed in with even greater precision. I felt that she did an excellent job in outlining her approach and managing expectations about what the reading can and can't reasonably accomplish. For me, it was the perfect combination of Tarot and life coaching, which is how she frames it. It was very much a collaborative conversation, and of course not everything she said landed 100% immediately. But even in those instances, as I responded she tuned in further and was able to intuitively draw out the nugget of wisdom in the initial comment. Indeed, this was not a straight up psychic reading (as she was clear about from the start), and so I didn't expect to have my mind "read" (as that can be an unreliable and often dodgy approach when it comes to making life decisions, anyway). That being said, Laura clearly has a gifted intuition, an ability that goes beyond the mere giving of advice. To stay in integrity, I do want to give full disclosure that Laura offered me a discount if I felt compelled to write a review, which she presented as an option during our initial phone conversation to set up the appointment. *However* I believe that she handled this ethically as one can, saying only to do so if I was fully satisfied about the reading (which I am), and by the same token, also offered a complete refund if I didn't feel that it met my needs -- even if I realized this after the fact. This seems like a balanced way to get the word out when one is trying to grow their business. I was not asked to give a specific rating, and do feel this experience truly deserves the one I gave it! I'm really not one to write reviews, but I think it would be a disservice if I didn't tell others how incredible Laura is. I've received a few readings from her and each one has been so applicable and relevant to what was/is happening in my life at the time. The thing I appreciate most about Laura is her honestly.
