I would absolutely not recommend this laser center to anyone. They enforce a 48-hour cancellation policy, but when you actually try to call to cancel, you're stuck on hold forever and the automated system says they'll call you back, which they never do. I attempted multiple times to reach someone and couldn't get through. I even messaged them more than 24 hours ahead of my appointment explaining that my son and I had the flu, and they still charged me a cancellation fee. On top of that, their membership system feels like a trap. I've accumulated multiple laser facial sessions that I haven't been able to use because I got sick twice last year and had to take antibiotics. For laser treatments, you have to wait until you finish the antibiotics plus another 10 days before you can even resume services. Meanwhile, the sessions just pile up. The worst part is that you can't redeem any of those sessions unless your membership is currently active, so you're basically forced to keep paying or lose services you already paid for. To make matters worse, two separate times my lash extensions were burned off during treatments, and when I complained about it, nothing was done. No compensation, no attempt to make it right. Between the impossible cancellation system, unfair membership rules, and poor customer service, this place feels like it's designed to take your money rather than actually care about clients. read more

I went to SEV for 6 sessions on my upper lip and side burns; the nurses obviously aren't equipped with the right knowledge so my face was actually stimulating hair growth in places I'd never seen before because they were going over areas I didn't have growth in. They also changed machines after my second session where the nurse literally said "those laser machines didn't work well, these are better" -- so you're telling me I wasted my first two sessions using a bad laser?? I had almost given up on laser treatments, but between the fair pricing and the friendly staff, I'm genuinely so much happier here. I previously went to LaserAway, and between their ridiculously high prices (that practically require a payment plan for anyone with an average income) and the constant "deal" and "sale" emails, it was already off-putting. Then, during my second or third treatment, I asked the technician if it was normal to have redness for a few days afterward, since I was new to laser hair removal. She responded with a bit of attitude and said she could lower the temperature. Apparently, instead of increasing the level over the next few treatments (as it's normally done), I was kept at that lower setting--with no explanation that it would slow my results. I wouldn't have even known this if I hadn't gone to a different location, where a much nicer technician reviewed my chart and explained everything to me. Even though that second location was more pleasant, I was extremely frustrated to find out that I'd have to purchase more sessions when I hadn't even finished paying off the original package. I've been coming here for a few months for leg treatment. The nurses have always been great at what they do, but the front desk is disorganized; once they've double-booked me and had to cancel, and several times have asked me if I can come in 30 minutes before my appointment. This past time was the kicker though. At my last appointment my nurse walked me to the front and told me to book my next session in 4 weeks. Due to travel I had to adjust that to 6 weeks. I still didn't have much hair at the 6 week mark, but the nurse had previously been adamant that I come back in 4 weeks, so I knew I was due to come back in. I walk in and the nurse tells me that I do not have enough hair to do a full legs treatment. She suggests I rebook in a couple weeks. OK, that's fine, no problem. At the front, the front desk woman informs me that since I came in with too little hair, this is treated as ME cancelling my OWN appointment and I will be charged for the service. Even though I showed up exactly as per nurse instructions, and even delayed a couple extra weeks beyond the nurse's recommendation. I asked how I am supposed to know if I am coming in with enough hair. She said that it is my obligation to "make my own assessment" about whether I have enough, and that I need to look for 50% coverage of the area of "dark enough" hair, not thin hair. And if you do come in with 'not enough' hair for a Full Legs appointment, you will be charged as though you last minute no-show'd a session. I am not trained in laser hair removal. I have no idea how to assess my own hair growth. They have no written guides or visuals on how to make this assessment, but it's "the patient obligation" to do so. I asked the front desk woman if I can just book touch-ups then, if she doesn't think I have enough hair, and she and the nurse agreed that no, I should not do that yet-- I have too much hair left to go to touch ups. Instead she told me that I am supposed to book an appointment, and then re-book it 2 weeks out each time if there is still not enough regrowth. And if I guess wrong and come in with too little regrowth, I get charged. This is just a warning to others that you can perfectly follow your provider's instructions and still be charged as a late cancel and on the hook to pay. I think this was my last time trying SEV as a result. By the way, I read through the customer policy and there is absolutely nothing which mentions this "obligation" to self assess your own hair growth. read more

I love to be completely honest, so this is my honest review on going to SEV laser all of last year. 2025 I purchased a package on Groupon, their prices were great for their opening promos. I would have to say out of all the treatments that I did. There was only one nurse that was so nice, very precise with her work and not rushing to get me out of there. I would've preferred to stay with her for all of my treatments, but they told me she only works on weekdays. I work Monday through Friday so it would be a little bit hard, but I understood and continued to give all the other nurses they assigned me to a chance. - to begin with, they've canceled my appointment right before I was about to arrive to their location, when this appointment was booked far out in advance. This was very frustrating because I drove a long way just for that one appointment. When I expressed that I was upset, and if they can squeeze me in, they didn't have that great customer service i was expecting, mind you I'm not a mean person! time is money!!! It was just "here's the email you can talk to them". As someone who works in the Beauty/medical industry, that's terrible... - I once went and the nurse, I cannot remember her name, but she was so fast that she finished my treatment in two minutes, maybe even less, and missed so many spots. It seemed as if she was backed up that day, but that means that management should be canceling people who are running late to their appointments, or if not make sure techs arrive there on time so that their whole day won't be delayed, they need to make sure they're giving each customer the treatment time they paid for and a good job when doing treatment. Not rushing it as if you have somewhere to be. - one of the appointments out of all my packages, there was a girl who asked if she couldn't train on me. They didn't call me in advance to ask me if we can make that happen, it just happened to be that she wanted to ask me once I arrived. It isn't a problem, I understand that some people have to learn, but I think management should let people know there will be someone training that day and if we're ok with that, or if not offer cheaper prices for trainings. I bypassed my Brazilian in my package because she didn't do my face laser good, and the one who was training, her sounded frustrated because the training tech kept forgetting what to do, she wasn't nice at all when training her. I didn't feel comfortable at all whatsoever. As someone who trains people at work, I would never treat my girls like that. Overall, it's a beautiful location. Really love aesthetic. Out of all the nurses, there is only one nurse that I really liked, and I hope she's doing well but forgive me. I cannot remember her name. They'll cancel your appointments last minute, front desk isn't too friendly, and the nurses are just in a rush to get through all the clients and finish their day. I suggest you look at different laser places, I love the skin agency compared to this location. I really wanted to continue my treatments here, but my experience here was not the greatest. I switched to this company for laser hair removal because I was looking for somewhere closer and that provided more professional services. However, in the past few months they have not proven to be professional. They heavily push their rewards program and to bring in referrals to get more points. I did this and my points were never showing up, each appointment I asked the front desk staff who assured me that it would show up and they would fix any issue. However the points never showed up. I finally got a response on their text line and was informed my account wasn't finalized (I asked the front desk for help 2-3 months before to confirm it was) and that I would not get any of the points I have earned from services or the referrals. My husband had the same exact issue. It is a bait and switch, they don't follow through and just trying to get in new clients by hounding their current clients. Updating my review. I hope this place goes out of business. I tried to give this place another chance and had another negative experience on 4/2. When I arrived I heard the receptionist (curly hair, african american or mixed woman) was giving the previous customer attitude. The customer was saying that she scheduled for multiple areas but they said that she wasn't scheduled for legs. The receptionist asked if her appointment was rescheduled, customer said yes, and then the receptionist said that when it was rescheduled they didn't book her for legs. This was clearly an error on their part. The customer left rightfully annoyed, and the receptionist was not apologetic at all. She then told me to sign in and had a bad attitude. Eventually I'm called in for my appointment for full body laser. When she gets to my legs the technician says there is still some self tanner. I hadn't used self tanner in over 3 weeks but didn't argue this, just asked what I can do. She leaves the room to talk to receptionist, who then says I can either pay for the areas already done (which would be over $400), or use my full body and forfeit the leg area. This was already frustrating because of my previous two bad experiences here where I basically wasted two full body sessions due to a careless, unskilled, rushing technician. I, like the customer before me, left annoyed. I then contacted the person who responded to my previous review and they gave me a call apologizing for my experience. I explained what happened and she added a session to my account for legs. I made sure to remove all traces of the tanner and called to reschedule an appointment. The man on the phone rescheduled me for today at 4:30 pm. I never got a text confirmation (which is odd for this place, because they generally text you 2-3 times confirming your appointment). I don't trust this place, so I called to confirm my appointment for today and make sure they won't waste any of my time. The person on the phone indicated I have no sessions scheduled. This place is a complete joke. Luckily that was my final session. I won't be returning for the leg session and will not be giving this place any more of my business. If I could give a zero star I would, but for the sake of yelp, it's a 1 star for now. They called me and apologized, I got my appointment back, and they said for me personally, I will not have to confirm any appointments. I am thankful and explained to them that their "policies" are not realistic. We are all human and we all have our own lives. I love the laser on my skin it feels so good with the ice cold air mixed with the laser heat is perfect and I always use the highest setting since I can't even barely feel it. I love getting lasered here! On my second initial visit, we ran into conflict with the appointment and it had to be postponed. However I recalled and had my actual second visit today! Pros- I love how quick I get in an out of this place. I get my underarms and Brazilian lasered. Coming as an Eastern European woman, we grow thick hair easily.. but just after my first visit getting lasered I lost SO much hair that grew back so slowly and so thin and light! Today I had Donyia, and she complimented me and made me feel so comfortable and finished both procedures in under a few minutes(!!) so awesome compared to waxing, I'm never going back to that. Cons- I drive an hour and a half to get to the calabasas location as I live in beautiful Santa Barbara/Montecito area (where big name A listers like Ariana Grande, Oprah and so on live as well.) This was my first time getting laser hair removal and I got a Brazilian treatment that I bought from Groupon. I was nervous after reading a couple reviews saying that the receptionist was rude and that they don't treat Groupon customers as well as normal paying customers but that wasn't true at all!!! The receptionist was EXTREMELY NICE!! She made me feel so comfortable and welcome and didn't push any products or services on to me unless I brought it up first, and even then she wasn't pushy at all. The laser tech was a little more shy but still super sweet and answered all of my questions. I was in and out in about ten minutes! The receptionist even scheduled me 4 sessions in advance which I would recommend because they get booked fast. It was a little hard finding the place because there weren't any signs guiding me and I did turn into the wrong parking area the first time but I think it'll be better next time I go since I know where it is, so make sure you follow your GPS!! The parking lot is also really small so I'd recommend going early so there won't be a lot of cars. If you're wondering if the laser treatment is painful, don't worry! It did hurt, but nothing you can't handle. It's so fast that it didn't bother me. The laser tech told me I could take a break if needed, and right before I was going to ask for a break, she told me we were already done! It feels like someone is plucking hairs but more like one hair per section that she lasers. The laser is pretty big so there aren't a lot of sections she needed to do which means not a lot of pain. If you were doing a bigger area you might need a break or two, just remember to take deep breaths. All together, such a good price and the customer service was amazing! I bought a package here and would not recommend them. 1) It's so difficult to get an appointment. They're super booked and do a poor job with scheduling. I've had them cancel on me last minute but if I were to cancel last minute, they'd charge me. It's also hard to get a human on the phone when trying to make or reschedule an appointment. 2) All of the nurses laser differently. The results are inconsistent because they all do random things instead of following a proven protocol. 3) Related to point 2, one woman did a TERRIBLE job (didn't draw lines, skipped entire areas, didn't check the level with me, etc). I told the front desk and they offered me a discount on more sessions instead of a complimentary session to makeup for that one. Why would I give more money to a company that doesn't consistently do a good job? And before someone from Sev replies, I already emailed them 2 months ago and they didn't respond. SEV has cancelled my appointment 3 of the 5 times I've booked with them. Cancellations happen same day with no warning. In return, they constantly remind you how busy they are, make rescheduling difficult, and will charge customers if they don't keep their appointments, but give no apology, accommodation or added service when they cancel on you. "Broken machines, maintenance, staff called in sick"This prevents the expected results as it takes weeks to get a new appointment. Don't go here for hair removal. **update! My most recent visit the front office staff wasn't happy that I wanted to address my service and cancellations so made my appointment difficult and had me wait 30 minutes for a 4 minute treatment.
