I would have simply appreciated a bit more clarity upfront so we could plan accordingly.

Blame my boyhood dentist, Dr. Payne (true name), and his huge hands, his Novocaine, and that awful lowspeed drill. I am having heart surgery in May and I am not concerned about it at all. I have bounced around 3 different dentists over the past 2 years, and all of them tried to do things without telling me how much it was going to cost or charged me more than my insurance company's policy had stated. He also does a free mouth cancer screening with every visit. Something Imagix would have charged me $50 for. In general, I feel like dentist are in somewhat of a conflict of interest.
