With that in mind, I was extremely impressed with Evergreen Ecoscape and Design. They helped us with a couple of landscape projects for our house in North Colorado Springs (Northgate area), and their services have been nothing short of exceptional. Our first project involved removing some sod in the front yard and replacing it with landscape rocks. This project not only enhanced the aesthetics of our yard but also promised to reduce water usage during the growing season and minimize the effort required for lawn maintenance (mowing, aeration). Evergreen, starting with Wesley, did a fantastic job of listening to our needs. Wesley came up with a proposal that met or exceeded all our expectations. They ordered the rock, installed the contractor-grade weed cloth, and hauled away the debris, making the entire process smooth and efficient. One thing to keep in mind is that many Colorado Springs landscape companies do not work in the winter. Evergreen is a notable exception. They worked around the weather and snow to ensure that the work was done professionally and not that busy winter time. Their commitment to their work is evident in their ability to adapt to challenging conditions without compromising quality. The second project involved building a dry creek bed, or arroyo, in the backyard. This project was designed to help with flood mitigation during summer storms. Tyler and Luke were phenomenal in executing this relatively complex project. As with most projects, we encountered some snags, but Tyler was able to adjust the plan to ensure that the water flowed correctly and made sure that the water gutters from the roofs had an unobstructed path to lower ground. Very important for the torrential down pours we sometime get in the Summer. I was very impressed with Evergreen's professionalism, communication, hard work, and ability to improvise to ensure that the project deliverables were met. They assured me that they would stay until the job was done right and correct, which they did. Evergreen Ecoscape and Design is an awesome company to work with, which explains their high customer satisfaction ratings. They excel in value, cost, efficiency, and professionalism. Previous owner of our house attempted the old form of xeriscaping the entire backyard by simply…read morelaying down landscaping fabric topped with a bunch of river rock. Eventually it turned into a weed infested, ankle breaking mess. We hired Joaquin and Hines Landscaping to install artificial turf, a concrete patio and pad for a shed, a wood retaining wall, and angular edging rock. What they did was amazing. It turned out so well that I still stop and admire the work. Our backyard is exceptionally functional now, our dog loves the turf, and the neighbors have provided many compliments. Joaquin was great to work with and the whole Hines crew did a fantastic job, including leaving the front yard in better condition than it was before they left, since it had to get disturbed to get people and equipment into the backyard. And, finally, the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend Hines Landscaping and we will certainly be using them again if the need arises.

We hired JTB to overhaul the landscaping for our front yard. I must admit that I was unenthused at the start. Landscaping just isn't that exciting to me. This changed during the process and I blame Rick for it. James and Rick came to the house to discuss the plan. They were polite, attentive, and not rushed or impatient in any way. They told me they'd send a proposal including a visual estimate of what the finished project would look like. They did so and we hired them. A few days before the confirmed start date, James informed us they had some breakdowns with the equipment and that the start date would be moved back a few days. No problem. Things happen and flipping out about something like this would be ridiculous. They were properly communicative and let us know about any obstacles in a timely, professional manner. They started on the expected day and were attentive to our questions and concerns. Part of the project included the placement of several good-sized boulders. I was expecting maybe 3-4ish. We ended up with 11 boulders of varying sizes, several of which were larger and nicer than I expected. We met Rick at the tree farm to pick plants and bushes and trees. We relied on his experience and expertise, both of which are clearly extensive, to choose the proper plants for the job. Rick's enthusiasm and love for his profession were evident and infectious. The plants were delivered and planted without issue. The drip irrigation was installed perfectly. At the end of the project, Rick stopped by to explain the operation of the irrigation system and to answer any questions. This was done exceptionally well, without any rush or impatience. The 3-mana crew completing the job were clearly professionals. They completed the job quickly and thoroughly, yet carefully and with an admirable attention to detail. The answered questions without impatience, and with a clear knowledge and understanding of the job and what we were looking for. JTB has several crews and, while I can't comment on those I have no experience with, the crew we were blessed with are credit to the company. I can't help but notice that most of the few negative reviews on this and other sites are based on things that have nothing to do with landscaping, but rather seem to be complaints from road-ragers trying to sabotage the business based on some perceived slight experienced from one of JTB's work trucks. Seems a little silly and, in my humble opinion, should be discarded with prejudice. Based on my experience with JTB, I also wonder if many of these negative reviews have been left by disgruntled and unprincipled competitors. The bottom line is that these guys are pros. They usually do larger, commercial landscaping jobs, yet the attention and care they showed to my little front yard were beyond reproach. We'll be landscaping the backyard next year and hiring JTB for the job is a no-brainer.
