Mike also worked with my insurance adjuster to get the insurance process started. The restoration crew was professional and easy to talk to when I had questions. They covered surfaces to contain any of the insulation being removed. 1st day was the removal of damaged insulation with a vacuum process. 2nd day was disinfecting and sealing the attic surfaces and blowing in new insulation to code. The crew was courteous and left my house and driveway clean. I would definitely recommend Mike's service for animal restoration of a home. It wasn't a good experience to host the raccoons but Mike's restoration services were prompt and professional.

We had some work done 6+ years ago. My advice would be- don't rush to hire any company. We hired one company to remove the raccoons, another to fix the roof, then I felt rushed because Newnam had an opening the same week. I should have found out more about the process and thought about what I really needed. They took 6k from the insurance and it was a 4 hour job. They added blown in insulation but didn't insulate the attic access panels in the ceiling. Whenever one of the panels is opened, there is a shower of blown in insulation, so not only is the panel uninsulated, but we lose insulation every time it's opened. I called after the job was done to comment on how fast the subs finished and Newnam wasn't concerned. Initially I was told it would be a two day job. I didn't realize the issue with the attic panels until later. I've learned you should insulate and weatherstrip these panels

They came within an hour. Then sent a crew to mitigate damages immediately. Sean was the "crew". He worked so hard and quickly tearing out soaked padding and carpet, setting up fans and plastic walls to contain the area. Ni-Gen has been over everyday to ensure the humidity etc was going down. Very professional and great customer service.

And we are still dealing with the damage they caused and trying to get a resolution for their completely inflated, unnecessary charges and unnecessary demolition. The renovation is still not complete due to all the out of pocket expenses we have incurred to put our home back together. We have had 2 other restoration companies as well as 5 adjusters verify that what they did in our home was completely unnecessary to midigate my pipe burst. Nugen assured us they would work with the insurance company to get all damages and reconstruction covered. They did absolutely nothing but make the situation worse with the insurance company with their arrogance and refusal to speak with them. We are left with a lean on our home after 90 days and out of pocket expenses of over $10,000. As if dealing with a broken pipe is not enough, Nugen will just make a very stressful and horrible situation worse. I have found that we are not the only one they have done this to. PLEASE! Dont let them into your home! I would not want anyone else to have to go through what we have and still are going through with Nugen, a year later!

We contacted Restoration 1 of Cary, and within minutes, their team was on-site and fully engaged in managing the situation. Their rapid response, professionalism, and thoroughness were nothing short of remarkable. The crew carefully and respectfully moved every item--large and small--from my father's apartment. Each piece was photographed, cataloged, and relocated across the hall to a vacant unit. What impressed us most was their attention to detail: when the move was complete, they had organized the new apartment so seamlessly that it felt as though he had always lived there. Following the relocation, the team immediately began assessing and addressing the damage in the original unit. All of this was completed within hours, with clear communication, efficiency, and genuine care. Every member of the Restoration 1 crew was kind, helpful, and extraordinarily compassionate during a time of great stress for our family. Their commitment to excellence and customer service exceeded our expectations in every way. Restoration 1 of Cary turned a very difficult situation into a manageable experience, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of restoration services. Their service is, quite simply, exceptional.

He was able to thoroughly advise us on how to rectify the soffit/attic issue. He was able to remediate a few areas of mold we had on drywall due to not dehumidifying our home and a lack of insulation in two small areas of our attic - too much soffit in two areas of our home. He cleanly cut out the bad drywall and did not cut through the vapor sheeting, underneath. I was pleased that he only cut through what was necessary with surgical skill. Only the drywall was affected in 4 of the small areas. Two areas - around a skylight and one ceiling area did affect a few boards in the attic. They cleaned the boards with a green, botanical product and then encapsulated the affected boards. No fans were used anywhere so mold was contained to affected areas and once drywall was removed, it was immediately bagged and removed from the home. Skylight ceiling was HEPA vacuumed and a HEPA air filtration machine was used in all of the areas while the work was meticulously completed. The bathroom ceiling was cleaned and then painted with a mold resistant coating. Josh thoroughly explained how long the bathroom needed to dry and that no humidity could be created in the bathroom until it was completely dried. He explained that it needed to dry naturally, without a dehumidifier, otherwise the paint might crack. Josh thoroughly explained everything he would do and everything he was using (cleaners, machines, etc.) prior to starting the work. He was an excellent, educated and experienced remediator/communicator. Carol, in the office, was able to calm me down and reassure me when I first called to schedule the job. Another company could not handle my upsettedness about our mold problem and hung up on me. She was able to email me receipts after charges were completed. Her follow-up throughout the process was great despite my changing the work order a few times throughout the process. Her calm, positive, uplifting demeanor was just what I needed during this time. I do not hesitate to recommend Indoor Air Repair to anyone with mold issues, except for the fact that it might be harder for me to get scheduled with them if all of you use them, too!

I do not recommend CWF for many reasons. If I went into every detail, it would probably take me an…read morehour to write and 20 minutes for you to read, so I'll keep it as short as I can. They respond to your concerns very quickly at first, but after that, everything slows down. You constantly find yourself repeating the same information, and many of your questions go unanswered. They're also extremely expensive. My mitigation alone was around $27,000, and they subcontract much of their work to other companies without telling you until the last minute. You hire them expecting them to advocate for you with your homeowners insurance, but you end up doing most of the work yourself. It often feels like they're more focused on making money than providing good customer service. The quality of the work was poor, and instead of taking responsibility for mistakes, they somehow try to put the blame back on you. Recently, I had another contractor come out to give me estimates for a few projects I want to complete after everything is finished. When he found out I had worked with CWF, he shared a story with me. He said CWF once contacted him for a quote on a job, and he estimated it at $900. According to him, CWF later told the homeowner the same work would cost $20,000. The homeowner eventually started calling around, reached that contractor directly, and realized it was the exact same job and estimate. He told me he's seen similar situations before. I could go on with more examples, but the list is long. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking for another company.
