And I discovered a bathroom sink without shut off valves. So, I needed those two items rectified. Further, I'm pretty well versed in plumbing as I would have/should have been 4th generation plumber... but I digress. This plumbing, effing weird. Shut off valves like everywhere. I mean, TWO main lines. Who does that?! And the water softener only goes to the hot water, again... who does that?! I suppose previous owners didn't want soft water to utility supplies, such as spigots and the basement cement sink. Which I get, as that is expensive and a waste. Okay, I'm off topic. I needed someone to walk me through the guts of my house to ensure I wasn't going mad. Nope, it's the house. But, Joe took the time to walk all the plumbing with me and much like GI JOE always said... KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE. At least I know where to crank things should shhhh hit the fan. Ya just never know out here; I've learned--tornado anyone? All in all for 2hrs of work and parts, about $330. ($165/hr plus cost of parts for anyone wondering.) He even had to leave to go get the correct part number, but was only gone for minutes. All in all, he was quick and seemed to perform quality work. The paperwork said his work had a 30 day warranty, which is reassuring. I also asked him a barrage of questions about the spigots and also some other things having to do with valves on my faucets (for some potential future work)....He was very transparent with me and took a few minutes to share with me a ton of useful information which I found very helpful. Called for a simple leaking drain in my tub, took two visits and this company still couldn't figure…read moreout the simple problem (misaligned rubber O ring on tub drain). Plumber did not inspect the pipes, use a snake camera, or take anything apart on either visit. Visit #1: Showed the plumber the source of the dripping by turning the shower water on. Plumber was convinced it was a loose faucet, so he put caulk around the seal and told me not to use the tub/shower for a day. This obviously didn't work. Visit #2: Leaking persisted the next day when testing the water. Plumber came out, but I was unable to make the drips occur (although there was water on the floor of the basement and in a bucket). Plumber said there is nothing he could do - Did not inspect or diagnose anything. Called another plumber and it was a misaligned rubber O ring on the tub drain (new construction home). Five Star Plumbing left me with no real work done and black fingerprints all along my hallway and bathroom walls.

I was told to call Lonnie Held, so I waited until morning (the 26th), and called, hoping they could help my stopped up sink today so I could deal with the mountain of dirty dishes! When I called, they asked when I'd be home (all day.. No plans), but gave me a 2 hour window when they would come over to fix it with a SUPER reasonable estimate. About an hour before the time window, I got a phone call asking if I minded if they came early (come on over)! Around 3 I still had heard nothing from him so I called. I had to call 3 times before he answered and he said he was finishing up a job and a little behind but he would be over. Around 6 I called a few more times & never got an answer. It's now the next day and I still haven't heard from this plumber, and my water is still off. Axberg will be here today.
