I am super bummed. Due to personal reasons, I've had to pause my training with SST for the time being. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing my time there was. It was life changing to say the least. I have learned so much! When I started, I felt very intimidated by the gym, I was scared to hurt myself and felt lost when I felt motivated enought to get myself into the gym. SST changed that for me completely! I have been away for about a month now and I just did an "in body" analysis and have continued to hit my goals by following what I have learned. I have gone back and checked in with my wonderful trainer by adding a-la-carte sessions and I am thankful for them. One of my LIFE/FITNESS goals was to do a pull up. My trainer, BK, has a laser focus on what I said I wanted to do and learn in a short amount of time, and the progress I've made with her help is fantastic. Andrew Cao of Seriously Strong exceeded my expectations of what a trainer should be. He stressed proper form for the main lifts(Deadlift, Squat, and Bench Press) and really focused on diet and stretching as well as lifting weights. He is a certified trainer and focused on a holistic approach to health. The gym itself is great. It's appointment only so you never have to wait for a piece of equipment. In addition, there are a lot of exercises you can do here that you can't in a regular gym. Fun things such as pounding a sledge hammer on a 350 lb tire. As well as rolling the same heavy tire across the gym. If you have the chance to work out with Andrew and follow his advice (He is always available by text) you will see results. read more

I came to SST with Hashimotos + a back injury. I had tried physical therapy and so many other things including working with other trainers. It wasn't until I started working out with Athena at SST that I really started to feel better and stronger. She understood all of my special needs when it came to my training and past injuries. Athena and all the trainers don't just put you through the motions. They stop, correct and TEACH you how to do better when you are on your own. There are even cameras so that you can watch yourself to check your form! I'm constantly traveling for work and my schedule is always changing so it has always been tough for me to stick to an exercise routine. My experience was SST is the first time I've been able to keep up with my training even when I was out of town. Their support and routines while I'm on the road are amazing! Added perks are all the great equipment and that the facility is always clean. During the cooler days the door was open and there was actually fresh air in the gym! Seriously Strong Training was my first experience with personal training, and I couldn't be happier. I spent a few weeks working out on my own, but I didn't feel confident in what I was doing and I felt a little silly with so many people around that really seemed to know what they were doing. I decided to hire an expert. Fast forward three years and people approach me in the gym with compliments! I started my personal training with 3 days a week and over time slowly weaned myself off as my confidence to work out on my own grew. I only visit on occasion now when I need help with a particular exercise, but even with months between sessions it's like I never missed a day--they treat me like family. One of the things that sets SST apart from other training services is their ability and focus on teaching. When I told them my plan to learn free weights, develop skills, and eventually train on my own, Keith(the owner) said let's do it! Within 6 months I was doing assigned workouts on my own, and by the end of my first year I was doing the majority of my workouts solo. One of my first concerns when I started weight training was that I would become big and bulky, but I quickly learned that isn't a reality. I've weight trained 4 days a week since I started, and still look just as feminine(just firmer and I have a booty now!). Another concern was injuring myself, but with the focus on technique and slow progression, I've never injured myself(despite my 200lb deadlift, 200lb squat, and 110lb bench at 125lbs body weight *stealthbrag*) The money I spent here was worth every penny, because I will lift weights for the rest of my life safely and effectively. read more

My favorite spot in town! All the trainers here are first rate and the space is perfect for their set up. Be mindful that this is not an open gym so if you're interested in checking it out and finding out more information for yourself, call them to set up a time to do so. Working out here is based on individual one on one time with the trainers and a specialized plan based on your goals. It's challenging and fulfilling. It's also strength focused...and now you get the name! You definitely won't see an endless supply of treadmills, stair masters, and elliptical machines here... nor a horde of treadmill zombies reading or watching TV without a single droplet of sweat. Iron Therapy - SST provides not only a strong physique, the mental strength must be worked on as well. I've read all the books and guides on training. I've tried just about all methods to become strong and look good. I never thought a trainer could help. I've researched all the fad diets. I became thoroughly interested in Olympic lifting about a year ago. I was able to learn the lifts from a book, but my wife and I knew that in order for me to not hurt myself and get something outta my workouts I needed a coach. SST was a place a buddy mentioned at dinner one night, I called Keith up and he impressed me with his knowledge and attitude towards exercise. I signed up and did my first competition the next month. Came in 2nd place! I have gone from a long lanky frame at 205lbs to a sturdy 225lbs. Meet Keith, a living book of knowledge of the iron, fighter of the gains goblins, keeper of the Swoley Bible, Lord Commander of the Night's Watc-- ehrm...a really good personal trainer. Alongside him to pray at the Iron Temple is Christian, Keiths protege, who also deftly speaks the holy tongue of swole. With these powers combined, you will be dropping PR's like a hoe droppin' knickers. In all seriousness, these guys aren't your typical personal trainers who just have you do 15 reps on every machine in the gym and then make you do body weight lunges for your "insane workout bro." They actually know what they're talking about, and have put a huge emphasis on proper form. Keith and Christian regularly amaze me on their wealth of knowledge and how they can just problem solve in an instant any complaints you might have about muscle soreness/pain that most trainers would just dismiss. I started coming to SST three months ago, and it's easily one of the best decisions I've made! Before coming here, my experience with anything fitness related was negligible. I never stepped foot into a weight room and couldn't tell you the first thing about how to squat. I didn't even know you could set a treadmill on an incline. For my consultation and first session, I met with Athena. Athena was sweet, inviting, and made me feel comfortable in an environment which felt foreign to me. I regularly train with Adam though, and I don't think I could recommend him enough (although you'll be in good hands regardless of who your trainer ends up being). I've never stepped foot in this gym and felt judged or remotely uncomfortable, something I struggled with at the gym before coming here. I know this is a common fear for people who are just starting out, but I promise, regardless of your goals or what you think you look like, every single person in this gym will make you feel welcome and is eager to help. As I mentioned earlier, my trainer is Adam, someone I hope you're all lucky enough to call your own trainer once you decide to come here. Like Athena, Adam made me feel comfortable in what would seem like a scary new place from my very first session. I have not once felt neglected or like my goals weren't something he has prioritized or taken the time to understand. He is someone I would recommend without reservations to absolutely anyone. Adam always manages to make me feel great even when I walk into the gym after what feels like a horrible day. If you're reading this review and are hesitant to call because you're intimidated or scared of the gym or working one-on-one with someone, I promise that calling and giving SST a chance is something you will be happy you did. I can't emphasize enough just how welcoming and comfortable everyone here is. I feel like I keep repeating the word "comfortable," but I think it's something to keep in mind because I know so many people are too scared, intimidated, or have a fear of being judged when it comes to visiting a gym or asking for help on their health/fitness goals. I was, and sometimes still am, the same way. But that fear has completely disappeared when it comes to this gym because the people here are genuinely good people who know what they're doing. So I wouldn't let any fear hold you back from at least calling and coming in for a consultation. I'm genuinely happy to come here and am so glad I did. I don't think I would have ever learned to lift without Adam's help and my experience here will always be something I'm grateful for. The only con of coming here is that now my expectations for a gym and personal trainer are incredibly high. If I had unlimited funds, I'd pay to come here six days a week. Everyone on the staff is supportive, extremely knowledgeable about fitness, and wants to see you succeed. They even keep a detailed report of your nutrition and training progress. This gym rocks! I knew I needed to incorporate weight training in my routine but weight rooms at your average gym can be intimating when you're a newbie. Seriously Strong is way more than your average gym! It's one on one personal training with hands down the most skilled trainers around. I've been training with Gustavo (aka Goose) for three months now and I have seen far more gains than I was able to accomplish on my own or in group classes. Goose is very knowledgeable and has an infectious positive energy that makes early AM workouts - dare I say fun! The entire staff is welcoming, the gym is well equipped and always clean. I have been training with Keith for a couple of months now to prepare for my first power-lifting competition. Keith is very knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness, including diet, as well as competition and Olympic style lifts. His program is consistently challenging and produces noticeable results in a very short time period. He is a good trainer and a good guy. I was skeptical to use the services of a trainer as I see myself as an athlete and some trainers that I have contacted in the past seemed "in worse shape than I", so I could not take their advice as seriously as I do Seriously Strong Training. Keith is the real deal and is much more than some "meathead" than can pick up heavy things. He knows the science of muscle memory and control and has been a great help. read more

After sitting on the grudge of the expense that I'd have to pay to hire a 3x/weekly private personal trainer, meal planning, fitness analysis and direct knowledge concerning your training plans to reach the 1st goal made, using the 1st goal as a marker in time showing my interest to invest in selfs health & fitness portion of life. It's a must! And I understand. Returning to my previous review about the cleanliness of this facility; the quality of staff are mature; focused; goal-driven. I noticed this all when I went for a tour of the gym & membership information. I wasn't expecting the fair ($$) but high ($$$) costs that weren't good for my personal budget. Reviewing those thoughts in my head, the cost of private personal training for 3x's a week is expensive but sometimes you must invest in self to earn your desired outcome placed within a part of ones initial written detailed goals. You can always afford health. Keep fit everyone! This place is worth the buck - if you want private. No doubts about it!
