I can't recommend Serini Family Dentristry enough. Dr. Serini (AKA "Dr. Dominick") and his staff are simply wonderful in every way. The office itself has a welcoming, cheery and homey vibe - IMHO, a perfect reflection of the people who work there. Anxious patients who dread the cold, clinical, and impersonal feel of the average medical/dental practice - are likely to feel at ease at Serini Family Dentistry. The waiting area is cheerful, roomy, and comfortable. The rooms where the examinations, x-rays, and procedures take place are kept clean, sanitary, and hygenic - WITHOUT having an intimidating surgical suite (or morgue) feel. There's no harsh, unnatural lighting or cold, wall-to-wall stainless steel. A family dental practice should feel welcoming and cheerful. After all, dentists are in the business of healthy, beautiful smiles - not triple bypasses or autopsies.
I only wish I had found Dr. Serini sooner. It took a lot of spins on the molar-go-round to find a decent, trustworthy provider who accepted my insurance. Serini Family Dentistry isn't some huge, impersonal mega-practice with questionable ethics. It's a small family practice that doesn't treat patients like products on an assembly line. As long as Dr. Serini continues to practice dentistry in Monmouth County and he continues to accept my insurance, it's likely he'll be stuck with me until he retires. And of course I will recommend Dr. Serini to anyone who asks if I "know of a good dentist in the area". I hope a COVID-free future (or at least a COVID-lite future) brings exponential growth and success to Serini Family Dentistry - though hopefully not at the expense of the "friendly neighborhood dentist" vibe. Dr. Serini's personal touch sets Serini Family Dentistry apart from those mega-practices with their cold, corporate feel.
Dr. Serini left me extra impressed yesterday. The least I could do is leave him a nice review. I left him a 5 star review on Google last year. I guess it Yelp's turn now. Yesterday afternoon, my fiance (who is not a patient of Dr. Serini, though I'm confident that will change once he meets him) had an old crown fall out. All that remains in the crown's place is the tiny old tooth stump that had once been part of a normal sized molar. Anyway, Dr. Serini's practice is closed on the weekends. Yesterday was Saturday. I called the office and left a voicemail requesting a callback during regular business hours. I didn't actually expect to speak to anyone, I just wanted to leave a message while the crown incident was still fresh in my mind. I didn't want to risk forgetting to make the call on Monday - plus I wasn't going to trust my fiance to make the call on his own. He has "White Coat Syndrome", so he avoids doctors and dentists for as long as possible. Well it turns out I didn't have to wait until Monday for a callback. Dr. Serini might not be prying patient's mouths open on weekends, but apparently he doesn't go completely off the grid either. Either he is extremely bored or extremely dedicated (I am leaning towards the latter) because he actually checked his work voicemail on his day off. About an hour after calling the office and leaving a voicemail, Dr. Serini actually called me back. It wasn't some answering service - but Dr. Serini himself. I handed my phone over to my fiance so he could discuss his dental issue, submit his insurance information, and set up an appointment. In the end, Dr. Serini managed to squeeze him in for Monday - meaning TOMORROW. I can't help but be very impressed and extremely grateful to Dr. Serini for taking time out of his weekend to help out someone who isn't even his patient (yet) - So Dr. Serini .... I would like to thank you for agreeing to fix my fiance's stinky tooth stump on such short notice. And of course, thank you for helping me keep my teeth healthy and smile-ready. read more
