William T. ... Try them again..today is 9/30/19.. I have been going in there about once a week now,and the place is a complete turnaround from what you experienced...you wouldn't even know the place..its been remodeled..and I've heard it has new manager/owner...I saw recently how much they helped the school children and ministries first hand.. read more

I loved loved this store--had such a great selection on everything--smells clean---the staff is sooooooooooo friendly & genuinely kind----I don't live in Dunlap but I'm willing to drive over 30 min. 1-way to go there---just can't say enough good--love love this store--oh-have donated also & felt so good to do that because the people there were so greatful---EVERYONE THAT CAN MAKE THE TRIP THERE___GO YOU WON"T BE SORRY-----CATHIE-- read more

My daughter was a volunteer... Not an employee.. at the Serenity Thrift store in Sparta, TN. She was treated without any respect. She was given no break during a 6 hour shift. The work that they had her during gave her blisters on both of her hands. When she tried to complain they would just tell her to get busy. I am so shocked by this treatment of a 16 year old volunteer. Truly,I would not recommend this store to anyone for any reason. read more

History

Established in 2008.

Originally Serenity Pointe started as a Homeless Shelter for women established by Debbie & Gerald Morrison. The shelter though struggling financially became a half way house. To meet the financial needs of the ministry, Debbie started with garage sales until it evolved into a Thrift Store. realizing that there are small non profits, who make big differences in the lives of others but struggle financially. Debbie and Gerald decided to go into the Thrift Store business and provide financial assistance to small local non profits that make a difference in society. Thus Serenity Thrift.

Personally I will not step foot back in any of the three stores after the "Christian" and founder of Serenity Thrift Mrs Debbie talked to me and my family. With no care at all about the situation at hand! I have made an official better business bureau complaint for discrimination by age of customer. The manager of the Dunlap location and Founder Mrs Debbie says 'there customers are based around the elderly and not the younger generation. My family, friends, and I on average spent an estimated 500-1000 dollars a month at these stores. I have news for this business my family and friends that range up about 100 people will no longer shop at your stores due to the fact of the Founder herself showing off her not so "Christian" side while speaking to my family about the issue. read more
