They also have A podcast too. Definitely can't wait to attend group events Once and a while they will have out door service which is nice idea but I have yet to attend. I love both their locations. *was attending services pre Covid

So I'm a big coffee lover and make it a point to check out as many coffee spots as I can. This one…read morepopped up on my radar -- turns out it's part of a church called Ecclesia. The space was quiet, not many people around, which I figured might be a plus... until I saw the prices. I paid close to $8 for a single croissant. And it wasn't even house-made -- tasted more like something from Costco. Honestly, I've been to plenty of cafés in California (where rent is sky-high), and I've never seen a croissant priced that high. In Houston? Come on. The whole experience gave me pause. It felt less like a community space and more like a money-making setup. It reminded me of the scripture where Jesus flips the tables of the money changers -- not exactly the vibe you want from a church café. I don't know who's running things behind the scenes, but if the goal is ministry, this pricing structure sends the wrong message. If I were church-shopping, this would be a red flag for me. Been there, done that with places that preach sacrifice while leadership lives large. It's disappointing. As for the croissant? Mid. Definitely not worth the hype -- or the price.

People often ask why I go to church every Sunday. "Are you devoting time to God?" No, I'm devoted…read moreto the spiritual purpose of the human being. Because I'm Devine and I refuel my spiritual battery with my fellow spiritual brothers and sisters at Unity Church. It's my pleasure to be one of the contributing members of this community. I started coming in August 2023 and immediately fall in love with Unity of Houston. The ministry offers many meaningful events and classes. I attended the Journey Through Grief, which facilitated by Rev. Mindy Lawrence Curtiss. It was a 6-week course to help me to properly handle grieving of my late husband. From there I met a few friends that led me to my spiritual journey. Since 2024, I got involved with the Fun with Friends activities. That is a unique opportunity for you to participate in a variety of fun gatherings where you get to meet people from our community, make new friends, have fun, create a strong experience of belonging and community, and generate funds for Unity of Houston as people bid in an online auction for spots at the events. I hosted 2 events in 2024: Tea Talk with Lou Can Cook and Vietnamese Spring Roll Class to raise a little over $500 for the church. And in 2025, I repeated the best seller and introduced 2 others: Vietnamese Spring Roll Class, Feng Shui Intro Class and a Chinatown Crawl event, which helped generating over $1500. In additional to events, I volunteer with the AV Media team. You can find me at the church handling camera operation for the live-stream audience or being a screen operator for the in-person audience. Not at the same time, of course. Life with Unity of Houston is always evolving. Because I love this community!!

The music was inspiring, and the message was both meaningful and practical, leaving me encouraged and refreshed. It's clear that a lot of heart and intention goes into creating such a space. I'm grateful for the experience and the sense of peace it brought me. I'll definitely be back again soon.
