She recommended doing a biopsy of 3 areas. I thought that was routine procedure. As she does the biopsies, she noted most people wanted the areas checked over time. Good to know now that I'm in the middle of the procedure. She cauterized the areas. When home doing wound care, I find she removed the entire area that looked odd. The wounds still haven't fully healed after over 3 months and they will scar. I have 2 areas in the back of my calves that look horrible. First, reviewing all options with me should be done. Telling me that the entire discolored areas will be cut out and how slowly those biopsy areas will heal, and that they will scar, would have influenced my decision. I didn't have enough information to make an informed decision. Now I have still healing wounds on my legs. Yes, I did go to follow-up appointments and was told legs heal last and slowly. My summer was ruined due to these wounds and I'll be scared. Not impressed at all with the care.

I visited Dr. Shrager at Alpha Dermatology at in New Hope as a last ditch effort to correctly…read morediagnose a reoccurring lip rash I suffered with on and off for 7 years. Prior to my visit with him, I had visited 4 other doctors consisting of 2 dermatologists, my gynecologist, and an infectious disease specialist. I was diagnosed a cold sore (even though the lab work came back negative and my bumps looked nothing like a cold sore) and staphylococcus. I knew that these diagnoses weren't right because my symptoms were inconsistent with the diagnosis. At the onset of my symptoms, my lips became extremely swollen and were covered with very small bumps, naked to the eye, that felt like sandpaper. Symptoms lasted for 1-2 weeks. During that time, it was very painful and I could only eat through a straw. It was so unsightly and painful due to a yellow crust that enveloped my lips that I even had to take time off of work. Over the years, the severity of the symptoms have decreased, but I still get an outbreak 2-4 times a year. For this reason, I was worried and looking for answers. I was afraid I had something awful that I could spread or that would cause overall health complications over time. My experience with Alpha Derm. as well as Dr. Shrager was exceptional from start to finish. The office staff was friendly and I was seen quickly. Dr. Shrager was simply awesome. He listened to my full history, showed empathy for my situation, explained everything fully, answered all my questions patiently, and most importantly, correctly diagnosed my condition as Perioral Dermatitis. After I left the office, I read about it and viewed photos of it online and I knew the mystery had been solved. Thank you SO much Dr. Shrager and staff! It's priceless to have peace of mind. I hope this review might help others with this condition come to find a proper diagnosis and if you're near New Hope, go see Dr. Shrager!

I was a long time patient with Carly overland. originally very pleased. then came the spa and my…read morecare went downhill extremely fast. uncaring in and out visits with no attention paid to any new or existing issues, and 10 minutes of time in an appointment at best. either decide if you want to do dermatology or Botox or whatever it is you do. your focus certainly is not on dermatology like it used to be. all this is a factory with no care or concern for patients. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH!!!
