The ambiance is great! The massage was relaxing and average. However, the professionalism and customer service was subpar. Having to pay in the beginning is not professional. It makes you feel second rate and untrustworthy like your going to get a massage and dash without paying. Cash only is what is preferred. This caught me off guard. After I commented that is very uncommon especially in a facility that was as nice as it was, she said they can take a card. We tried that and their reader didn't work. I ended up having to leave and go and get cash out. I tried to articulate that I had an area on the inside of my left shoulder blade that was balled up and tight and that I would like to have some extra focus on that in addition to the full body 1 HR massage. The language barrier did not allow for this. I left generally relaxed but with the pain still next to my shoulder blade. In addition to the $60 cash up front I decided to leave a $10 tip. 15% is and average tip and I felt like that was appropriate for an average massage. Upon exiting I handed her 2 $5's folded and said thank you. She immediately unfolded it in front of me as to check how many $5's were there and immediately exited to the door in the adjacent room without a word. They let me know I did call the right location and had availability same day (got me in within an hour). Massage was great and more than what i expected for the hour. Well where do I start? My husband and I wanted a couples massage so I called and asked for a couples massage. Only come to find out we would be in separate rooms. We were very upset but didn't let it stop us. I walked into the room and the lady said "ok get naked". So awkward. There was only a thin thin thin sheet. Did I mention it was thin and small. The massage was interrupted many times by the phone or other employees. Definitely not relaxing. My husband told me they didn't provided him with a sheet. He said his room was way too hot as well. I had a very awkward and unpleasant experience and this place today. I am on a work assignment out here and have visited a lot of places so I am behind on my reviews but this one had to be done today!! Its my day off and I hadn't had a massage in a while so after reading yep reviews to ask if I needed an appointment they said no. I go there the lady leads me to a room right away. She asks me to undress face down the usual. She then comes into the room but doesn't close the door all the way so I am hearing everything that happening out there. Massage begins all is good until she started rolling her elbow on my ribs which hurts for me I don't like that so I asked her if she could just use her hands and not her elbow for my back. She didn't understand me so she went to go get another person to come explain. The tall woman came in and asked me what I wanted and I told her that they elbow hurts me. That gliding bone to bone is painful for me cuz I am tiny and don't have enough cushioning. I've asked people not to do that at other places and never had a problem. Now, here's were the problem begins.. The tall woman tells the lady what I said "whether or not translation was wrong I don't know" then they have a back and forth before she proceeds to tell me that I am going to have to pay $10 more because that's more work. Well it's a weird position to be in when I am already like 15 minutes into a massage. So I said I've asked elsewhere and never heard that before. She said well it's gonna be $60 and not &50 I had no choice but to agree. The Tall woman then left the room leaving the door open while she was saying some things really loud as she walked down the hallway. At this point there was no relaxation. I think I might have been the only customer there at the time but still close a door. Moving forward a massage that started seemingly okay ended up not good. Besides the fact that the place was empty the woman giving me the massage rushed through every and didn't even massage my feet and I am huge on feet cuz I stand all day at work. Time to pay she tells me since I am using a card there is a $2 fee. Maybe I missed that in the reviews but it just added to my not so good experience. I don't care about $2 but it's 2018 we shouldn't have to pay to use a card at a reputable place If I had stayed at home I would be $70s richer 1 point loss for the $10 extra charge to use your hands and not elbow. I was not going to endure the pain. 1 point loss for the rude tall woman who was loud and inconsiderate. 1 point loss for leaving the door open while I am getting a massage. 1 point loss for charging me $2 more for using my card. HIDDEN GEM!! I highly recommend those who live there and visitors to get a massage from Serenity. My girlfriend and I were visiting out of town and we stumbled across this place. I was so relaxed I forgot the masseuse name but she's y'all and answers the phone as well (I spoke to her when I made my appointments). It place is very clean, tranquil, with a light aroma. My room was big with deemed lights and meditation music playing. Before she started she asked what kind of massage I like because everybody is different. She knew the way my biddy reacted to certain techniques and switched up quickly therefore there was no need to tell her. The body massage and reflexology was DEVINE! She also put hot stones on me which I caught myself snoring a couple of times. That hot towel was a tad bit to hot but she cooled it off. The two masseuse were very professional and pleasant. I was in the area for work and in need of a good back and neck massage. I searched the ads and decided on Serenity. The actual location was a bit hard to find. It is located in a small office building just off the NE side of Tulare Ave & HWY 99. The office itself was very clean and the room was tastefully decorated. The table was comfortable and the air temperature was perfect ( many time it is way to cold in these places). They also have a shower available for use if you choose. This location is staffed and owned by a nice Chinese lady named Diana. I enjoy the Chinese Massage places more so then the places as they are usually cheaper and you can walk right in. I don't care for the fancy lobbies of if there is a receptionist to meet me. I just want a good clean place with a good massage. There are 2 therapists working here including Diana. She said they had been open for about 6 months and as more business comes they will add more therapists. I chose the 90 minute massage and was glad I did. After undressing and laying down on the table Diana entered the room. I let her know that I wanted a medium to hard massage and to focus on my back and neck. The massage started with some good acupressure to help loosen my tired muscles. After she switched to the oil massage. They use a good quality massage oil and not baby oil like some of the cheaper places. The massage was very strong and deep which did a great job on my stiff neck and sore lower back. She spent nearly 60 minutes of the 90 minutes just on my back and neck. She spent another 15 minutes on my legs, arms and face. The balance of time she gave me a wonderful foot massage which I didn't expect, but it felt great. When I am back in the area I will defiantly return. read more

They can be surprising therapeutic if done well, and somewhat irritating and unsatisfying if not. You can tell if the therapist is giving you her full attention or just going through the motions, experienced or unsure of herself. Diana, at Serenity is exceptional. She puts her heart into her work. Her routine is complete and well balanced. And her technique: just the right combination of firm and light touch... she exudes confidence yet remains empathetic and responsive. I can't help but verbalize my pleasure during each session. What a relief (in a couple ways) to have found this place. I have been searching for a massage parlor like Serenity for some time; one that accepts walk ins, is open after hours (I work a lot) AND didn't immediately make me feel like I had broke the law by walking in. Needless to say I had become discouraged by all the previous "massage" parlors I walked into (and out of), especially since, essentially, one must enter these places in order to know if it is worth staying. Anyway; I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and professionalism of Serenity. My masseuse, Andy, was very good and, although she was small, she put the hurt on me, which I believe is necessary. She was thorough and skilled at finding the knots and eliminating them. I tried this place because of these reviews but idk if it was a bad day for these ladies. The lady that welcomed me was nice and welcoming but she started bad and ended bad. She started without any music which I asked 10 minutes in if she had some relaxing music, she said she forgot and she turned it on. Then during the massage she was coughing and talking to her coworkers in her language loudly, then she had to leave 3 different times to attend to customers and phone calls, then the worst part is during the massage she asked me to sign for the credit transactions and if I want to add a tip! This is during the massage!!! I would think since there were so many interruptions then she would complete exactly one hour, nope, she cut 10 minutes but honestly I just wanted to get out of there. I read other reviews and chose Serenity for a on the spot massage. I extremely enjoyed the massage I received here. I use to do swimming and water polo in high school so I messed up my shoulders. A couple months ago I was in a car accident and messed up my back. I have finished therapy on my back but still felt tension in my shoulders. The lady was very nice and didn't mind I had to ask her several times what she said since her heavy accent. I felt so good afterwards and no point I felt awkward. When I was done I wanted to go to sleep, maybe next time I will go there before bed since they are open til 10! read more
