I had a facial and a massage here and both were excellent. They have a great area to relax before and after your treatments, there are snacks and water, a steam room and sauna. I'm giving it four stars because while everything was nice and the people were friendly it was recorded for the holiday with blue line flags and support the cops signs all over the entrance and in the check in room. It wasn't a welcoming environment for someone new to the area and certainly signaled values before you even get through the doors. I wouldn't feel comfortable sending someone here on my recommendation. Every single staff member at Serenity In The Mountains, was an absolute pleasure. They were so nice and welcoming. My boyfriend & I are not fortunate enough to get massages frequently and so we do not have the perfect etiquette for a spa. My husband gave me a gift certificate for my birthday; this is all I am ever asking for. The building is beautifully decorated inside and out for Christmas. Every room has decorations and the 'silent room' looks magnificent! All the ladies working at the spa are super nice and polite. Denise gave me a great two hour deep tissue massage! First of all it is breathtaking. The Christmas trees are abundant and every room feels like Christmas. It absolutely takes your breath away. I had a massage and pedicure. The massage was absolutely phenomenal. If I would of left the massage I would say five stars easy. They give you a lavender neck pillow and and a fancy replenish drink after which was so impressive. They absolutely hit it out of the park for the massage because every detail is untouched. My pedicure was good, but the massage was literally fantastic. We got a 50 minute massage, 50 minute facial, pedicure & salt cave each. The staff was very friendly & made you feel welcome. The services are honestly good overall for the price but keep in mind they aren't your high quality posh type services either so don't expect a deep facial or massage like you would at a pricey place. Came here today for a couples massage and was so pleasantly surprised! They were able to fit us in last minute due to a cancellation which was so lucky for us. The quality of services you receive is just outstanding. My husband loves his masseuse and I liked mine but it could have been a bit more relaxing massage wise. The spa facility and staff were wonderful. Perfectly clean, beautifully decorated facility, plenty of friendly people. Cafe sandwiches were yummy. Note: The massages, not good. My massage therapist didn't touch my feet or my neck, only from ankles to shoulders!!! My friend's masseuse stretched his neck painfully with a towel and dug into his shoulder blade too hard, not heeding his comments and not giving the "relaxation" massage we requested!!! The salt cave was freezing! Not at all a spa experience! Yuck. Blankets provided were not enough for comfort! Why in the world it was so cold is a mystery! They certainly should have informed us before our entry! One if us had to leave after a few minutes. I didn't have any other services after the poor experience with massages and the freezing salt cave. But...wait! The suite was great!! Everything was spotless, super clean! Large LR / DR and kitchen combined. Full size stove and frig. All dishes, etc. there. Fireplace with gas logs and remote, quick and easy, big screen tv on the wall. Large BR, very comfortable king size bed and pillows. Nice rustic decor, Bathroom all tiled, very big, with jetted tub, roomy shower, twin sinks and large counter. Big fluffy towels. Surprised to find full size washer and dryer! The robes were so well made and comfortable, I bought one for home! We could have lived there. read more

I am going to start by saying I absolutely love this spa. I can't think of a time where I haven't had an amazing massage or an amazing facial. And most times I come I have zero issues whatsoever. I change, grab my book, make some tea, and head to the quiet room where one would expect, I don't know, quiet. Yesterday however, the quiet room had a huge party in it and the staff didn't know what to do when I went to complain. Instead of telling the loud group of ladies to exit the quiet room they just told me they would "monitor it". I complained two times. Needless to say, they let me do the salt cave on the house which was nice. But as a mom who loves her spa days where I can relax in quiet with my book for a handful of hours, I felt robbed of the relaxing experience I had grown accustomed to at Serenity all because the staff wouldn't tell a group to get out of the quiet room. Part of me thinks the staff put them there since where parties normally go is under construction for a cafe. I've never wanted the leave that spa until yesterday. And when you spend that much $$ and when they have a room made just for people who want quiet -- it is disheartening. I will be back again and hopefully won't have the same experience but if I do, it's back to Alpharetta I go! read more

The suites are beautiful and very comfortable! And the spa is out of this world!!! Pleasantly surprised, I've been to so many spas in and out of the US. And I wasn't sure how things were going to be because of the lack of reviews and information I could find on Serenity. The staff is very friendly from beginning with booking to the end at checkout. I scheduled everything for seven of us, we choose the Girl Friends getaway package and it is totally worth it. Every staff member was helpful, kind and patient with the people and in our group. The whole weekend was truly relaxing. Fantastic, Budget Friendly, boutique style and definitely one of Georgia best kept secrets. Facilities are clean, very sterile and yet still really comfortable. We will absolutely be going back, most of my group asked if we could make this a regular yearly trip now. read more

We went in for the salt cave experience/service. We were pleasantly welcomed by the staff and situated. The salt cave itself was pretty cool, though it would have been nice to be able to sit in the middle of it rather than on the edges. It was nice to have blankets and socks as it does get cold over time. It did feel less meditative than we hoped, but still an interesting experience. read more

My friends and I came up for 2 days and decided on the Girlfriend Getaway package. We got a special half day package which included a 70 minute relaxation massage, 60 minute stone facial, and a body scrub. Typically the package would include a pedicure & manicure instead of the body scrub, but they didn't have the slots open for nails on the date that we wanted so we requested to substitute the service for something of the same price. The front desk service is amazing; all friendly and helpful ladies who happily worked with me over several phone calls to book the trip that we wanted and fit us in on the only weekend that worked for us. You couldn't tell from the outside, but both the spa facility and the suites are spacious, tons of amenities, relaxing environment, clean, and comfortable. I can't think of anything that you could possibly be missing here. When we checked into our suite, we had tshirts, wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and cheese & crackers on our table waiting for us. In addition, the counter and fridge were stocked with plenty of breakfast options including apple cider donuts and pies from Mercier Orchards (a local winery that is also amazing). Robes were laid out for all of us, there's a fireplace, an amazing bathroom, king size bed, and they even threw in an air mattress for us. There's plenty of space for more guests if you want to bring extra people and book a 1 bedroom. The spa facility itself has a peaceful, comfortable relaxation room, a steam & sauna room, showers, and a whole bathroom set up with straighteners, hair dryers, brushes and everything that you need to get ready after your treatment. Shoes, robes, and lockers are provided as well. I honestly don't think words can do this place justice. I'm very impressed with everything that was set up for us, offered to us, and the customer service here. The treatments all happened on time and were wonderful as well. We had a morning spent at this spa. 2 of us had facials, and one had a massage. They were all superb! I had the infrared facial that let my face glowing. We all used the salt cave at the end. Hands down, the best spa I have ever been to! My boyfriend and I came here while on vacation in BR. We showed up a little late but the receptions and team promptly got us in very quickly to get us back on schedule (so it didn't delay future services). I had a Micah as my massage therapist (55 min relaxation massage) and it was the most relaxing experience. I even fell asleep (and I never do!) From there, I had a dermaplaning facial with Christie and a 45 min session in the Salt Cave. Each of the services were top of the line - I felt like a celebrity! While you are waiting for your next service to begin (if you book multiple) they have a "Quiet Room" which was honestly one of my favorite parts. Teas, coffee, snacks, etc. Every time I thought the experience couldn't get any better, it did! Serenity Spa in the Mountains definitely has the "WOW" factor and 100% worth every penny. read more

Would have given them 4.5 stars, but that was not an option. Was very pleased with the one night, midweek Girlfriends Package. Couldn't get any of our other girlfriends to join us (we live in Atlanta) but decided to drive up to the mountains ouselves and stayed in a one bedroom suite. This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but once you enter, the suite was well apponted and very spacious. (I did find the mattress to be on the hard side.) The bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries was a real treat. Particularly pleased with the massage and facial service. The spa itself was delightful. (Pedicure - neither here nor there.) Think we'll make this an annual outing. Kudos to the spa staff and reception folks! read more

I was very pleasantly surprised. We actually did a girlfriends appointment and stayed at the Inn. The units at the Inn were more modern than they looked on the pictures. The bathrooms were very nice and they added so many touches to make us feel welcomed. We got the chocolate covered strawberry , wine and fruit platter which was very generous. They also gave us pastries, cereal , milk and OJ for breakfast. Units were very clean and comfortable. It was so nice to get up and simply walk upstairs for our morning spa appointment. The spa is amazing and also exceeded my expectations. I went early and enjoyed steam room before my appointment. The provided a nice robe, slippers and some basic toiletries. Steam room was wonderful. I then went to the relaxation room to wait. They had tea, coffee, water and light snacks complimentary. They have also just added a little café which you can purchase of your snacks or food. We ate lunch in the cafe after all of our appointments. They just added the café two weeks ago so this was a very nice touch. We didn't have to rush out after our appointments and it was 2pm when we finished so we were a little hungry. As for the spa treatments. I did a facial , salt cave and massage. I loved the facial. Ot was relaxing and she also educated me on skincare and products without a hard sell. The salt cave was nice. It is cool in there but the robes are warm and they also have blankets. You can't take any electronics in there so you did have to just relax and there was no talking. my suggestion, for this experience may be to not have the chairs so closely to each other. Every time I moved or the person next to me moved, we felt each other moving around which was a little distracting at times from relaxing. But overall a good experience. The massage was just ok. I think you have to go into it expecting a LIGHT massage for relaxation... not to work out any kinks. I asked the therapist for more pressure and she was able to do it for just a few minutes and then return back to the same white pressure so I gave up. I was at the spa with 3 other friends and all but one of iamb had the same experience/ comment about the massage. BUT there were lots of little touches and extras that made it still a good experience. Therapy. They also have a warm neck wrap that they give you. Heated table. And the thing that I loved was they did a warm wrap for my feet. Rooms were relaxing. So it was still a good experience just not as effective as my usual massages. I will definitely return because overall it was a great experience and great value. I only stayed one of the 2 nights because i had to get back for an appointment. I still had to pay for the 2 nights as part of the package but it was still a great value compared to other places. Also i got to the spa at 9am and was there until 3pm so it was a full day relaxing, getting treatments and lunch. read more

We visited the spa in January for my fiancé's birthday. He had never been to a spa before, so he got to experience his first pedicure and in spa massage. We got the strawberries and cheese tray. I am not sure if they charged me for them since I was never given a detailed receipt. However, he felt like a king getting pampered and given a tray of delicious chocolate covered strawberries. My only complaint is that even though the women's waiting area is wonderful, the men's is just a bench in the bathroom. It kind of took away from my experience to not enjoy the relaxation of the waiting area since he had no where to sit. We want to come back to relax and pamper ourselves before the wedding. And yes, I WAS sick. I did have to babysit my grandchildren because my husband had COVID but I had it too. I just didn't come down with symptoms until a few hours later. No body lotion nor hair products available for use. Hair dryer on wall not working. On a positive note, the therapists were very professional and provided excellent service. Stayed here with the Romantic Getaway package and wow was it nice. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is luxurious. Each suite is like a condo and doesn't have a hotel fee at all. Breakfast is left in your room for you and it has a full kitchen. We also had an 85-minute couples massage that was incredible. The team at the spa were so wonderful. I have had a few more treatments since I posted that review and it's very hit or miss depending on who you get doing your treatment. My husband had a terrific massage, but I had the worst. My facial was subpar and made me breakout (no under eye lotion or pads and not good at extractions at all and left my face with coats of oils/lotions I said not to use because I'm sensitive. ) The place you sit and wait for treatments, people are going in and out and it's so not relaxing. When you get nails done with a package and you are in a robe, they bring you to wear most people are in street cloths getting nails done. You feel odd in your robe. They need to learn upscale techniques if they want to compete with Atlanta spas. But I guess they are the only ones in town, so they can be subpar and be successful. I recently moved to the area and have utilized quite a few of their services. It's always a pleasure to go. It's a rustic atmosphere /rustic mountain decor that's clean and smells great. The girls are all proficient and so kind. If you have an issue w a service they are quick to rectify the situation. I'm glad I have such a place locally to treat myself. The prices are absolutely reasonable. For the reviews that said they were to much....they have never been to a spa. I will be back as much as I can! read more

Exceptional spa! The couples massage is a must. The room above the lobby is so nice especially if it's cold outside side and the fireplace is on. Women's lounge is nice and relaxing. Men's is nice as large or plush as women's but still nice. Dawn and Claire gave great massages. We highly recommend. This has been my third visit here. From the moment we were greeted at reception to when we checked out it was a first class experience. We booked spa treatment about a month out. They get really busy so call well in advance. We arrived on a Tuesday at 8:30 and left around 1:30. We got in our robe and socks and headed into the salt cave. Beautiful and so relaxing. 45 minutes of relaxing and breathing in salt air. They provide a blanket and it was still a bit chilly. Then you go to a nice area lounge space and enjoy snacks and beverages. Next up was the 85 minute massage with Caitlin. It was by far one of the best I have ever received. She was so good and really a pleasure. I had the be calm scent. It is steam you breathe in under your head, so relaxing. I also added on the tee tree scalp scrub which was out of this world. 15.00 but so worth it. When you check in they offer you some add on, no pressure just fill what you would like to add on your paperwork. The hardest part of the massage is when she asks you to turnover, you will feel like a bowl of wet noodles!!! Then into my delightful facial. Really nice. Next we enjoyed the steam room. Mom, sister and I visited last week (Dec 2008), and we each got a pedicure. Even my 4 year old niece got her toenails painted. The staff were knowledgable, skilled and unobtrusive.
