The staff has been very consistent in providing for our mom, there are many opportunities for social gatherings (unless there is a quarantine). The in house restaurant is very nice and wait staff is provided with white table clothes and residents as well as visitors order from a menu. Our mother has a 2 bedroom apartment and is basically an independent resident (96). However, when additional care is needed it is there and my family has peace of mind. I only give 4 stars because I am kind of a clean freak and sometimes I am not happy with housecleaning. It's not bad just not up to my personal standards.

Last year my dad entered Paintbrush after a hospital stint and within two months, he was so happy and doing so well. He decided to check himself out of Paintbrush because he thought he was healed, but Paintbrush was actually keeping him alive and healthy. Six months later, my dad had a severe brain bleed and was in the hospital for a month and then put on Hospice. I contacted Paintbrush in complete distress and Rueban remembered all the little details about my dad and who he is as a person and even visited him in the hospital multiple times. He completely took care of the situation and recommended the best Hospice team. When my dad entered Paintbrush he was unable to speak or stand. I was told he was not going to make it for another month but at the rate my dad is going he might go on for a very long time. He's so happy and he's talking and laughing with the med techs. They remember all the details about him, including what he likes and how he takes his medication and just monitor his overall well-being and mood. Visitor hours are at any time, which is so helpful for me because I live out of town and often will come see him very late at night. The food is like a four star restaurant, every time I see my dad eat dinner I am blown away by his meals. Everything is kept really clean, and my dad is on the highest level of care, so they check in on him constantly. They directly communicate with the Hospice team when anything goes wrong... my dad has fallen a few times and has had other issues and right away they communicate. I live in Los Angeles and I had no idea what to expect with care in Fresno and I would send absolutely anyone's parents here or loved ones. It's hard for me to be in town all the time so it's very important for me to know he's taken care of and treated with dignity. Thank you so much, Paintbrush. Your work makes a difference in so many people's lives and saves lives including my Dad's. Oh and interior! It almost reminds me of a Disneyland resort when you walk in. It's SO NICE and happy.

I was told this was okay as long as she could transfer. The nurse evaluation was over video call, since mom lives 3 hours away now, and the evaluation didn't go well, due to mom being hard of hearing and she has speech aphasia. I asked if I could hire a nurse to do an in-person evaluation, but my mom was denied anyway. We were about a week away from moving her when the nurse called to say they denied her, it was devastating for my mom. This evaluation should have been done 2 months ago, when I first started looking. Not a week before the actual move. I paid movers, professional organizers, everything was rolling on our end. The moral to our story is, if your loved one isn't mostly-mobile, look elsewhere. Even though they have various levels of care, and pricing based on that, wheelchair-bound individuals should look at other places. We have a referral agency now and are only looking into "continuing care" facilities in the area. (Note: I feel like I can't offer a true star rating since we only began the process and mom didn't live here. But this rating is based more on the initial process/sales staff/honesty about who is and isn't accepted)
