Donna, the woman in charge at Here Comes the Bride, refused to sell me a dress because I am gay…read more After spending a day trying on dresses with my family and friends, she called me to say that she didn't realize I was gay and would not work with me because that's "wrong." She also said she was shocked because my family and I seemed so nice, and that my being gay is a "shame." Then, presumably to counter my accusation of discrimination, she said that what I am doing is illegal and she does not engage in illegal activity. I guess she is unaware that civil unions are legal in NJ (where her store is) and same-sex marriage is legal in NY (where I am getting married), and that anyone should be able to buy a wedding dress if they'd like, even if they're single and just want to dress up at home by themselves. Please do not support this bigot. She is a rude, judgmental, self-righteous homophobe, and from what I've read in other reviews, her bigotry does not stop at gay people. Her listing on Merchant Circle has complaints of racism, ageism, and other forms of degradation and harassment.

I went to this store looking for a bridesmaids dress for my friend's wedding. My friend lives a few…read morehours away and this shop had the same line of dresses she was picking from, so I stopped in to see them in person. The woman was quite rude when I first got there - She told me she didn't want to bother showing me some of my dress choices, because I "wouldn't look good in them" (we got to pick our own dresses, so I did some research online first and had some dresses in mind) I felt pretty crappy that she told me I wouldn't look good in the dresses, but I believed her because I figured she was a "professional" and just trying to steer me in the right direction. She then pushed this dress on me that she kept insisting was "new" (but that I knew from looking on the designer's website that it was old and she was trying to sell it at full price) The dress actually would have looked terrible on me. It was super short and strapless and low cut (ie, welcome to the boob show) - not something I'd ever wear to a wedding, let alone one in December. It didn't take long for me to realize that she was just trying to get me to spend as much as possible. So, I asked to see the original dresses that she told me I would look bad in - and, guess what? she didn't have them in the store. Figures. I did find a dress I liked, and the price she quoted me was about $80 above (plus more than double the price for alterations) the other bridal shop my friend was dealing with. The tag even said the dress was less, but she told me the price was wrong, that the dresses were on sale previously, but now they're full price again. I then asked if she would measure me so I'd know what size I was (I knew I didn't want to purchase from her at that point.) She refused unless I bought a dress there - she got all huffy and said she said she cant just go around measuring people all day if they aren't going to make a purchase. She was getting so worked up about it, like I was trying to take advantage of her. It was crazy. So, I left and purchased my dress elsewhere and will never go back.

Not surprised at all this store is closed. Horrible experience from day 1. Picked out a Vera Wang…read moregown for daughter's wedding available only online. Tried the one sample dress they had in the store and was told to order a size 2 sizes too large. I believe this was done on purpose so that I would have to pay for the alterations. How could the person who is supposed to know and advise on sizing get it that wrong? I'm going to go with that it generates more money for them. I had to return 3 times to have it finished, which was the Wednesday before the Saturday wedding. I had to pick up the dress, despite the fact that the finished product was taken in too much, resulting in a dreadful tight-fitting back and skin spilling over. Such a pretty dress that looked absolutely awful. I can't even stand to look at the pictures! I honestly think the salesperson (Lisa) might've had a personal problem that caused her to be zoned out, which might've played into the whole disaster. She actually saw me come back into the store after it was determined to be a problem, and came at me with a confrontational attitude. I think she knew she screwed up and thought she could intimidate me from saying anything. I did talk to the Manager on duty that day and he was more interested in supporting Lisa than understanding what an unmitigated disaster it was. All monies were paid to everyone, so he just didn't care. And he probably knew Corporate wouldn't do anything either (I saw customer complaints there too), so he felt comfortable just sending me on my way. They deserved to lose their jobs.

We picked 4 dresses and I fell in love with 2 - of course choosing 1 for my special day. All the girls in the store were phenomenal and so nice. Everyone helped & made me feel like a million bucks - the managers & another expert all took time out of their day to help me decide on MY dress and for a super reasonable price I got an amazing gown! I am so so excited for my big day - thank you ladies!!! PS here's some pics that are NOT my dress!

I left that day booking my appointment to come back and buy my dress a week later. I picked up my dress in January of 2025. I was there today buying jewelry for my wedding tomorrow(I know waiting until the last minute is definitely not ideal) and now I am getting married tomorrow(May 17th, 2025). Her store is absolutely stunning, smells divine, and the dresses are even better! I have never seen such beautiful dresses. If you are looking for unique, well-made, and comfortable dresses this is the place to go! Throughout this entire process Cyndi has been nothing but kind, caring, generous, and honest. I truly wouldn't have wanted you to go through this process with anyone but her. Infinity/10 would always recommend.

However she put the order for the gown in as a size 2. When we picked the dress up, it was way too big and we saw it was a 2 and she told us "That's all the smallest size it came in" but my daughter quickly found online that it did indeed come in a size 0. Oversizing meant an additional $400+ in alterations to a seamstress that works with Cyndi. She was not apologetic about ordering the dress two sizes too big. The dress itself was beautiful.
