Many of our 55 guests remarked on the venue, and how stylish it was. We began the evening with cocktails and a jazz trio on The Roof, and then moved into the air conditioning in The House for dinner and dancing with an 11 piece band. Our guests continued to use The Roof when they needed a break from the band. The food was also excellent. Many of our guests remarked on its quality, including some who had their own catering businesses. We found Bridget Ann and Kaelan very easy to work with, and there were no last minute surprises. The staff was friendly and competent. All of our needs were anticipated, the costs were as advertised, and the evening went off without a hitch. We could not be happier with out choice to have our event at The Village with Bridget Ann and Kaelan.

This arboretum popped up, and so we went in search of quiet and nature. It was super easy to find and very convenient in terms of parking/access. There are garden areas throughout .... be sure to take a photo of the map and/or follow the signs to explore each area. They helped organize with our other vendors (DJ, photographer, etc.), and provided meaningful advice and guidelines every step of the way - from selecting our menu to choosing venue décor and even providing advice as to how to word our invitations. On the day of our wedding, those same coordinators ensured that the event proceeded smoothly, monitoring the timeline, flow, and jumping in where needed. For example: when we arrived home from the ceremony, we were immediately met by Nikki's staff who had specifically prepared appetizers and drinks for the wedding party to enjoy (and to replenish!) before making our big introduction to the rest of the wedding guests. Dinner was average, nothing to write home about. Dessert was another batch of passed around, decadent bites. All in all, a wonderful evening (and the snow had stopped by the time the event was over and we got home without incident).

I went specifically for the African American print art exhibit which included works from the 1940s thru today. There was also a section with a video of one of the artists, showing his techniques. In addition to the museum, there is a small sculpture garden path and a larger area of nature trails for hiking. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. It is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of cities, and I plan to return to go on the nature trail. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance gate, but it is easier to do in advance on their website. They are general tickets, not timed or for a specific date. There is ample parking onsite at the beginning of the sculpture path.

The history of the Waveny House is also really fun and impressive. It was built in 1912 and was owned by the Lloyd family. The town of New Canaan became owners of the property in the 1960's and turned it into a public park. I couldn't recommend this more as a venue option or event option. In general, it's a great location for a family outing for a picnic or for outdoor workouts.
