The funkiness of the creative touches were cool. It was nice and sunny and there was a slight breeze. There were tables to sit, an unmanned cart for food, and the stage. I find it interesting that all of that was there because until I came to another restaurant in the area, I didn't know that this area existed. Now driving there is a beast because the roads are littered with potholes and there are areas where there is essentially one lane to drive, so you have to be very, very careful. But this spot, once you get to it, is it worth it? Maybe, it depends on what's going on. I'd love for them to have a bit more going on, but I respect the fact that it is so far out of the way that it may be a bit difficult. The marina down there is quite small and there's no way to tell how much business would come by that. So, this wouldn't be a destination like Berkeley or Richmond Marina's where they have options if you want to eat, but it's cute and funky and with the restaurant they have in the area, it's not a waste of time.

Unfortunately but I guess fortunately there is always work being done in and/or around our streets, and last month I had to frequent somewhere outside of the home work office to go Monday-Friday for consistent internet service. Located across from 711 and next to Jenny K (the cutest local gift shop) and Well Grounded (our local coffee and bagel spot), Juku feels like a comforting sanctuary and home away from home to get work done. If you're looking to have a private conversation or work meeting, they have two private rooms but also comfy digs for open coworking/solo working. What I love most is the feeling upon entering. They offer coffee, sparkling water, packaged snacks, and just overall great community love. It feels like you're going into the office with water cooler talk without going into an office. I noticed a few regulars bringing their meals from home to microwave around lunch time. Most recently I was presenting on a work call and they ensured I had everything needed for me to be successful (and with solid internet!) Check out their website for events like game nights at their beautiful space, and if you're ever in a pinch, (for a fee), they have ya covered!

The Canyon Trail Park is a neighborhood park located at the end of a residential street. In the main section of the park, there's a large grassy area with a playground, two tennis courts and a couple of picnic tables. There were some parents and their kids in the park and a couple playing tennis. The empty picnic tables were perfect for the three of us to eat our lunch. The park has some mini hiking trails that I will need to check out in a future visit. There was a restroom next the clubhouse, but it was locked. But our object was met, finding this park to enjoy our lunch.

Canyon Trail is load with squirrels, birds, dragonflies...sometimes group of deers and turkeys will show up walked up and down. this trails supposed requires all dogs on leashes, but many people do let free their dogs, so watch out those aggressive ones. years ago we were be able to enjoy the little water pond down at the lower position of trail where the wooden sign was located, this tiny pond used to has lots of lives, tiny fishes, tadpoles, now seems not any more, pond now over growth with Cattails with some other water plants make it muddy muddy and no more clear waters. Near the pond it has three aged cherry blossom trees in about 2 months hopefully they'll be blooming and beautiful again. I truly hope those cattail in the pond that now damaged water quality and completely changed the living condition of this pod can be quickly clean out, we have not seen any tadpole this year so as other small fishes, sad lost of tadpoles lost of frogs singing around too.

It's been about 8 years since I played regularly, so I am trying to get myself out there and take advantage of the summer, exercise and friendly competition. I arrived early for our late morning tee off, so I found myself at the bar celebrating a pre-birthday mimosa while getting my game face ready. The place was somewhat empty that morning, but the golf course was a steady flow of players. Without a drivable cart, we were lagging behind others who had one and were better - so we tried to hurry up and let others play through to catch up. Overall everyone was nice and the timing worked out. After 9 holes, there's a snack shack with sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cold beer and beverages. It's like the reward you've been waiting for. I had a nice cold Lagunitas IPA and hung out with my family enjoying the scenery. I had a blast at Richmond Country Club and look forward to going back again after a few more rounds of practice.

While i do think the course is great, (except for holes 2-4, which are kinda shoehorned in) Mike Iker and the board that support him at Richmond are completely incompetent. There was an incident where a very rich, very well connected group hit into ours over and over again. There was a confrontation, and because a guest of a member in my group used a curse word toward the group that had hit into us and cursed at us multiple times, we were asked to write a formal apology to the group that went out of their way to try to injure us and also be jerks. When i met with the board, other members were on my side and explained to "mr" Iker that he was clearly wrong and that if anyone should apologize, it was the other group. He was unrelenting and in the end, six of the younger members ended up leaving the club because we were harassed by the group in question, and by Mike himself. I received apologies from the GM and the head of sales, who were both very nice, for Mike's behavior, and multiple people have apologized to me since. I could see rejoining the club if i got an apology from mike and the club, and a clear outline of how they hope to change, but i generally dont hold my breath on stubborn cowards doing the right thing. edit: Mike emailed me after I wrote this review to awkwardly, cowardly, and sarcastically thank me for my feedback. I don't think there is anything on earth that sums him and the club up as well as that. You're welcome for saving you all from these sad husks of excuses for men.
